This just so simple outfit looked amazingly cool with the touch of the red hat!

I just loved how simple but cool this combination was...

And look what a difference that red hat makes. This morning when I went to the park I forgot to wear the red hat. When I asked my friend to start taking photos I remembered the hat was missing. That one hat adds all the coolness!

TODAY:
Was dragging today still feeling totally sick but knew I had to take the kids somewhere. So we loaded up our scooters and helmets and met my friend and her boys in a park with a huge loop for riding scooters somewhat between our homes. Then took them to an early lunch together. After naps my parents came over to take the kids while I went to my dentist appointment. Then was pleasantly surprised when I got home to find a package from my company that contained more clothes for my sample line. Then attended an hour long work call. My parents were nice enough to stay to babysit while my husband sneaked in a quick dinner date!

Had out of town friends visiting today. The husbands went out sailing and we entertained the kids. Since she has 3 and the youngest is still a baby we took it easy and went to the indoor play area and spent the afternoon at home and had dinner when the hubbies got back.
I am totally feeling sick but have no time to actually do anything about it, so taking cold medication and ignoring it.

This simple combo was a JCrew catalog inspiration from the issue that came out around September of 2011.

I like the idea of slacks with a bright color and a fedora... I would have gone with my animal print ballet flats under this but the weather was too cold so wore boots instead...

This was the set my husband got 'from the kids' for my b-day last year....And the silver charm bracelet is also his gift on mother's day. The two discs have my kids names and birhtdates engraved.

My friend had a elementary school open house tour to attend to and no one to babysit her kids so I volunteered she brings them to my house for me to take them all to our outdoor class until she gets out of her tour. The plan worked but it sucked that the weather was drizzly and super cold.

The kids behaved great. I had her youngest one (1.5) attached to my hip to make sure he was safe and let the other 3 play with friends.

It got so cold that I think I am catching a cold now from sitting there freezing. We left early to go to Target for lunch and shopping for kids' valentine cards for their classes. Last year I waited too long to buy these and every store was out of them. It was nice to go when there was so much too choose from.

Had a business mixer to go to but was feeling too sick to go so stayed home instead. Plus had a webinar to watch/listen for work.

Finally wearing another combo I had created with my mom's super old kilt skirt.

This one was inspired by the November 2011 issue of Lucky Magazine:

Her skirt is red tartan and she added red tights and a red top. So I went with green top and green tights. I didn't have something super shaggy to wear so experimented with this 'bed jacket' I keep in the bedroom to wear when I am reading a book in bed to not get cold!

Uneventful day of preschool followed by an afternoon at home with family visiting to play with the kids.

It is amazing how much follow-up work there is to do with the new business and I have so little time to do it all. Pretty much living on very little sleep and caffeine and the adrenaline the excitement of starting something new!

TODAY:
We left my husband's parent's house shortly after breakfast and took the 3 hour drive back home. Had just enough time to unpack partially, start the 5 load laundry process and get ready. The most fun part was there were 4 boxes waiting when we got home. 2 of which were more clothes for my sample line. I love openning them up, checking them off in my invontory list, tagging them and hanging them on my rack. If they happen to be size I get to try them on... The other box was from the printing company. I know have my business cards, order forms and invitaitons. I can officially start business.
I also got the box from Asos. I forgot to photo but I am loving the green skinny denim, the huge turquoise clutch and the gold double cuffs and the cuff necklace. Better than I envisioned them.
Final box was from PB teen my laptop lap desk with a cubby.
The afternoon we went to my friend's house to watch Superbowl. Given that I have zero interest in football, the guys watched the ladies chatted and the kids played their hearts out...

This was my outfit Saturday while visiting my husband's parents after our trip to Disneyland...

It was another classic Bee (Atlantic Pacific) Inspired outfit:

If I was home I would have also showcased this outfit with my nude heels but realistically these little purple wedges were much more appropriate... (see the activity below to prove my point!)

Had a great fun day at my in-laws... They took us to this little man made pond filled with fish by Malibu for kids to experience fishing!

Afternoon was spent at home and I got to demo the new clothing line to my mother in law and made my first sale!

Since the kids refused to nap despite their over tired stage we put them down super early and had a nice peaceful dinner to celebrate my mother in law's b-day....

You really can fish in pearls and wedges!

My father-in-law caught 3 fishes (trout). We brought them home and bbq'd them and they tasted great....

We have a special b-day lunch with the Princesses and a personalized cake just for her... Should be fun.

Sorry no outfit posts today as I spent the day at home waiting for our new couch to be delivered, laundry and packing and trying to work while my parents took the kids all morning and lunch and my dad came in the late afternoon/evening.

This is another inspiration I had saved a year and a half ago...

I picked it cause it was the perfect setting (combination) to showcase this beautiful necklace my husband brought from India when he went there for work in 2010....

These are my old work slacks. They still fit and feel great. I just make sure I take them off as soon as I get home to avoid dry cleaning.

WEDNESDAY:

Had to get up super early and be at kids' preschool by 7:30 AM this morning. As you might have already figured out I attend a co-op type preschool where all the mommies take on a task and have to be there the entire time. These classes are completely free but they are on a first come first saved basis. So whenever a new semester starts we have to go super early to guarantee a spot. I was fortunate enough to be able to leave the kids at home and get in line and my husband brought them to school before he left for work which was an hour later. The class was a bit chaotic as it usually is with new families joining and orientation etc...

Had to snap this photo of my daughter when I saw she had adorned all these costumes on her... She must have picked all these herself and another mommy must have helped...So cute...

After school I got to open the packages that came in the mail and set up my new HAT STAND! Hence the title of my blog post today...
I have been dying to find a solution to my ever growing hat collection. I envisioned buying bunch of wall hooks and hanging them all over this (behind the door) area but that would have required so much work and create horrible holes in our walls. When I was ordering a secondary portable clothes rack for my new business I ran into this wonderful hat stand (made for stores obviously) in the online store. I couldn't beleive it.
Fits perfectly too and each segment rotates for easy access....

Of course they won't be stored as shown here since they will collect horrible dust. I have most of them in a plastic bag for protection.

Being Crazy Isn't Enough

This was my outfit last night to a 'Captain Apprecation' Dinner given by the organizaiton that puts together playgroups by neighborhood and kids' birth age... (I am the captain of my playgroup)...

The inspiration came form this tiny photo way back 2 years ago on wearing berets....

I liked the idea of red mini skirt, mustard scarf and white beret with jet black accessories and pieces...

This is the skirt part of my old old Ann Taylor suit. I have worn the red blazer part a few times but hadn't worn the skirt forever. It is old so high waist and not very comfortable but for a short dinner it was fine...

The booties and the red suede fringe purse were great touches...

TUESDAY:

Went to Sea World with the Kids with some friends from our play group....It was fun kids mostly played in the play areas than look at the sea animals.

I tried to conduct two work conference calls while with the kids which was insane. Thank Goodness for the iphone mute button. Will have to figure out a better way to do these on a weekly basis as it was hard to take notes of what was being said and of course I was the only one with a spreadsheet of questions to ask!

I will do another post about the night since that was a different outfit...

We had a super fun day on Monday... Took the kids to a Skateboard park to watch the big boys skate then had them practice on skateboards my friend owned and ride their scooters.

I even tired my friend's razor!

Then went to a funky Hamburger Joint for lunch:

What a fun day we had and that was just the 1st half!

During naps I tried to work. Then my parents came over and they brought dinner but I cooked also so I am set for 2 nights of dinners now. We had dinner together. My stepdad who is an artist has painted portraits of my kids. He just finished my daughters so they brought hers and hung them both up which was a project in itself. I will do photos in better light tomororw...

YESTERDAY:
I conducted my first 'Wardrobe Consulting' yesterday morning for my friend. This was a great practice run for me to see how long does it really take to conduct such visit and how successful it would be. It was amazing. I have 10 years of finance background where you use facts and logic and hardly any creativity. This was so different. I felt rejunivated working with her outfits and coming up with combinations trying on things and for the first time thinking only what she is comfortable with and what she likes and not my tastes or clothes.
I was happy to be able to create at least a few outfits which of her challange pieces where were 2 mini skirts and 2 midi skirts and 3 dresses. For majority of the outfits we focused on creating combinations she can wear with the kids on a daily basis. We also added small adjustments like heels to take the outfit from day to a date night. These all based on the questionnaire she had filled and described her needs.
In the afternoon hung out with the kids at the park then had taco night dinner at home then went accessory shopping with my sister for the new clothing line I will start selling.
My brain is going insane from all the moving piecs and everything I have to do to start both businesses.

TODAY:
Had a nice breakfast with the family then went to a park for scooter riding and enjoying the amazingly warm and sunny weather with my sister and her fiance's little puppy!

Having fun with 'Ava' - New at Kika Paprika

These were the outfits I created last night just using the single dress from

Kika Paprika's

New Collection.

The dress is called 'Ava'.

It is a strapless with a seam under the bust. The length of the skirt hits perfectly at knee length when pulled up as a dress. The back of the skirt runs a bit longer which looks great.
I have the Espresso color in my sample line. So I put it on and started having fun with it....

1st Oufit: Paired with 'Maggie' in citrus

The best part of this collection is the pieces go amazingly well together. Perfect items to remix...Colors are also very complimenting together. I love how the yellow shines against the dark espresso...

The jackets are by far my favorite in the collection cause they look like structured coats and yet feel like a cardigan!

I added blue as my pop color with the necklace and a bit in the scarf. Red accents in the scarf are also nice.
Animal print wedges and clutches add touches of pattern to the solids...

This vest is also one of my favorite pieces. I just love the long maxi front look while the back is short so it does not look frumpy. And the fabric is very light and flowy so adds no bulk. This one is couple sizes big on me from my sample line. I own one in my size in electric but loved the purple and brown combination.
I also love this vest in black over a white 'Ava'....

I wanted to add edge by tying my scarf as a turban. Gold touches add a bit shine to the whole look....

'Ava' really was the perfect base for the 'Angie' vest. The straight cut tube top looks perfect under the 'v' opening of the vest. Other colors would have also looked amazing but I only have camel in my sample set.

I wanted the keep the look soft and polished. Totally something that can be worn to work....

TODAY:
Kids had snack today so that was fun since they got to be teacher's helpers all day.

After school I took the two other mommies who babysat the kids during my kindergarten tour and breakdown late arrival on Wednesday to lunch.

Later in the afternoon my daughter made me promise that we would paint her nails pink. She asked for this before nap so I gave in but told her we would take it off before bath. She sat there without moving an inch then waited with her hands spread open on a pillow for 10 minutes for the polish to dry! I wish I had taken a photo fo that pose but I had promised to help with my son's puzzle after the polish application.
She is just such a girl. Then she put on her princess outfit and played super hero with her brother's mask! And that is my Juliet in a nutshell....

My sample clothes have finally arrived!!!!
I was sooo excited and opened them one by one and hung them on the new rack. The ones that were close to my size I started trying them on and creating outfits with my own scarf and necklace accessories...
I took photos although in the evening light and inside and the chaos of my house they came out a bit blurry but it is past 1 AM now and i have to go to bed so I will post tomorrow.

Today's bright combination was inspired by Bee from Atlantic Pacific:

I wish my sweater was a bit chunkier but the color was right at least... I have been wanting to use this teal scarf for a while. It has a bit of sparkle thread in it which makes it look great. And of course I love these shoes of mine. They were purchased probably 10 years ago from NYC's Century 21 store. I just fell in love with their color and extreme pointy toe slingback style. And the kitten heel is low enough that I was able to keep them on for my outing with the kids today!

TODAY:
I was running low on fuel today since I went to bed at 2 AM last night! It is very hard starting a new business without having anything taken off your plate. The only time I have is after the kids go to bed and it is just not enough time so I stay up later and later to get things done... Very exciting though.
This morning we went o bed bath and beyond to pick up mirrors and hangers for my business and then took the kids to Seau's to eat lunch afterwards. We had fun eating together.
My mom came over so we can think of outfits with the new clothing line and helped me assemble my rack and organize some of the clothes I already have.
Kids were running high on energy while I was running on fumes in the afternoon so that wasn't easy but we made it through...

Today's super cute outfit was inspired by a photo in last Season's Kate Spade catalog:

I had saved this inspiration folder last year and wasn't sure when or where I would wear it. A Fashion career training seminar was the perfect venue. I was able to look professional while showing my quirky taste at the same time...
First I had this outfit with my white eyelet pencil skirt and a white tee. But that just looked so sloppy and casual against the black tights and red blazer. Then I remembered the new sheath dress I bought for xmas eve and it was perfect. To create the black bow effect I tied my cardigan's self belt!
I thought the end result was quite genius if I have to say so myself! :)

TODAY:
Today was the 1st day of training of my new business. It was so much fun but also overwhelming at times receiving so much valuable information that is hard to retain all at once. We learned about how to dress different body types and understanding everyone's colors based on hair, eye and skin color and then figuring out what colors work best on each person. I am so excited to get certified in these areas which will really help me with the clothing line business as well as the wardrobe remix consulting...
The afternoon was spent trying all the items in the new clothing line we will be selling. As fun as that is it is quite tiring. I had envisioned taking so many more photos but there just wasn't enough time between trying them all and taking notes etc...
So here is just two:

We only had an hour break before the evening activities watching another fabalous runway show this time modeled by actual consultants and a fun dinner and a cocktail party adn award ceremony.

I have to say I didn't quite get close to where I wanted to with this outfit. The top was not dressy enough, the skirt was not long enough and my body just didn't feel right. But I had already committed so no turning back...

Today's interesting color combination was inspired by the lovely Kendi from

Kendi Everyday...

I thought it was interesting to pair purple with green among navy. She did a touch of mint green but I didn't have such necklace so I went with my pink and mauve one which still worked I think.
To pick up the pink from the necklace I added a pink trench instead of navy...

This was a b-day gift from my dear friend. I love the necklace so much...

I don't wear this adorable cuff bracelet watch that much cause it is clunky with the kids... It looked so cute over the green sleeve on this outfit...

The green top was by the way was not fitted enough and also too long and covered the ruffles of the blouse. So I cropped it and knotted it in the back to show the ruffles!

TODAY:
Well the morning was interesting. Was woken up buy a cute little kiss from my son telling me that he and his dad had finished cooking a big bacon breakfast. He even went onto tell me how they grilled the bacon outside but it was raining so he put on his robe and slippers. Hearing my daughter stirring I went to get her before going down. Unfortunately I was horrified when I took her potty and discovered she is covered in red spots from neck down and red cheeks and ears and itching. In a panic mode we called the pediatrician and got a 9 am appointment and still managed to eat the yummy breakfast.
So while my hubby took my son to gym class I took the little baby to the Dr's. The good news is it is not chicken pox but an allergic reaction to the antibiotics she had just finished. We already knew she was allergic to penicilin family now found out she is allergic to the caphlex family too! Took her back to gym class while picked up allergy medicine and calming lotions for her.

The rest of the day was spent running around like crazy packing, laundry, ironing etc... I am leaving for my new business training in Laguna beach and am very exciting. I will be gone 2.5 days. So I had to try on every outfit I planned to take. I am quite excited about the outfits. This is the first time in my life I can actually pack what I want for a job. After years of finance it is nice to be able to dress in a way to show my personality.

Of cousrse I wish it was just me I had to pack. Since the kids will be left with my husband than go to my mom's I had to take out 3 days of outtfits for each and pack their bags too...
Finally did a stick-on manicure just now with a fishnet lace design. Not sure how long it will stay...

I liked this mix of stripes and grey with a pop of fuchsia!

Plus an excuse to wear the cape coat that I love.

I might have gone a bit overboard with the pink touches in both hat, arm warmers and socks but I couldn't stop myself... ;)

I hadn't worn this striped tunic this year/season so it is nice to get it back in the remix...

TODAY:
We went on an ice skating field trip with our preschool today. My son is always fearful of trying new things so he wasn't ecstatic about it but the fact that my stepdad (his grandpa) came with made it much more fun.
We both took turns taking the kids out on the ice and he even took out some of my friend's kids for a spin.
It was a lot of fun and exhausting at the same time.
We had a conference call with my Dad's Dr in the afternoon and he stayed for a little bit to play with the kids.

You see I wear the clothes I post... The hat is actually quite practical keeping my hair off my face and warm at the same time...

I didn't realize how much they matched until this photo!

My 6'5" step dad with both kids. His poor back is going to hurt tomorrow from all the bending down!

Life with My Friends

Last nights crazy combination was inspired by no other than the lovely Sarah Jessica Parker. Both herself and her character in the show has been a great fashion idol to me...

This was out there to create for me. I put so many layers on that I probably added 2 dress sizes to my body but really wanted to try it out.
So this is layering two quite big and full skirts on top of each other. Then 2 sleveeless tops, plus a scarf plus a fur coat!

I wasn't crazy about the bulky way the tops looked but that is more due to my not so thin waist...

I liked how the skirts looked together... The print was perfect to go with the blue top and the red heels!

The heels were perfect. Although I had no stockings on I wasn't cold due to many layers on top...

The knuckle clutch got a lot of attention and comments through the night...

TODAY:
Took my son to get a much much needed haircut. Then spent a torturous half hour at the bank researching and disputing automated debit charges that have apparently been coming out of my checking out since summer! I am so diligent about my checkbook I don't know how I missed it. 30 minutes later found out it is a company I bought a children's book from a college student that came to our door. I paid by check. So that is how they had my checking account and routing number and have been charging me for their website which I never even logged in. I was furious. Luckily though I called the company and threaten to take legal action and they will be refunding the charges and canceling the membership. Otherwise I was going to have to close my account and open a new one which would have been an absolute nightmare! Never again will I buy something that comes to the door or pay by check...
We went to target after this tormenting experience and met my parents there for lunch and while they toured the toy isles with the kids I finished some shopping. They have such a good batch of cute girl clothes right now.
Afternoon my friend is coming over with her boys and cross your fingers we plan to leave all the kids with the daddy's and go out to meet the girls for Restaurant week...
We'll see how all that goes...

Don't you just love this color combination: Aqua blue with yellow!?

I loved it when I saw the following page in the J Crew catalog early fall of 2011:

I had this super old blouse that I used to wear to work with black slacks. I have always loved this color and I already owned the yellow cardigan. SO I saved this photo until I found and purchased the aqua cords from F21 and now it can be created:

So you can see this looks a bit weird. That is cause this animal print was the inside of this belt and it has a super cute brass bow buckle on the front side that is plain brown. I really wanted to do animal print though so wore it inside out...

This pose was weird all perched up...

Morning was pre-school. In the afternoon we went to the indoor play area where I had signed up my duaghter for a snowflake tea party...
Had bought this dress for her at clearence at Kohl's when she saw this model and cried for it back in xmas. It is size 5 and too big for her but for the Snowflake Tea Party it was perfect colors and style so I let her wear it...

The tea party was on top of this castle structure....

Today's Fun colored combo was inspired by the following Chictopia post of AshleyRose:

I love the yellow and hot pink colors with the black scarf idea... Wearing denim shorts over leggings was cool as well...

To make it kid friendly during the day all I did was swap the platform booties with the flat ones!

I like it with the platforms better of course though...

This scarf is tiny and sooo old during the time they were in fashion... Worked perfect for what I needed though...

These short shorts are stretchy so they fit over leggins no problem and the dark rinse makes them work quite nicely...

I did my nails in yellow and the middle ring was a 3 stacking ring I got from F21 and totally forgot until today...

Another crazy fun day. We went to the Japanese friendship garden with our outdoor pre school class. Fed the fish in the Koi pond then did all sorts of Japanese art which was so much fun for them.
The teacher had a dochent give the kids tour of a museum with famous paintings as well...
Then had lunch in the noodle place next door.
At night we are having family friends over for dinner so it is going to be a fun and long night...

We have such similar boots so whenever she wears them I usually save the outfit as inspiration... I love my red rain boots cause they are taller than usual and narrower than usual which fit my skinny calves so much better...

TODAY:

We had a whole set of different plans today of going to the skateboarding park for kids to watch older children do skateboarding tricks then have them ride their scooters and then lunch. But with rain we knew it was risky so we went to the Children's Museum downtown instead. Met with 2 other mommy friends there so 6 kids was quite exhausting in a big place with 3 floors and 6 kids with a mind of their own wanting to go different directions. But, after many warnings and talks we managed to keep them together and flow through each area/activity.

In the afternoon my parents came over and I could sneak to go get my nails done and run a couple errands.

Yes I really do these things in the outfits I post/wear... Pearls and all do not stop enjoying clay art with the kids. The outfit actually was very kid friendly since I wore leggings underneath I didn't feel like I had a mini skirt on. And the flat boots are so comfy. The pearls...you forget you have them on after you put them on.

Today's very basic and casual outfit was inspired by the lovely Rihanna in Glamour's August 2011 issue:

The photo was this tiny one in a page with about 15 different outfits. I got inspired by 4-5 of them...

I originally purchased this loose boxy top to wear exercising but works in my outfits as well. It is one of the few pieces I owe that is form fitting...

I just adore this scarf my sister bought for Mother's day for me. The wooden necklace is attached to the scarf and the colors are so sorbet like...

The bag that was originally purchased to work as a diaper bag...

I should do more 'laying down' poses I think... On a clean surface would be better cause you can tell my knee was scuffed already from the previous pose of bending down on my knees...

TODAY:

We stayed home this morning. The kids were so cute playing together for the first time without fighting at all and when I went up to check in and/or join them they sent me away. My daughter literally said 'go away mommy we are playing'... I got to catch up on housework like laundry, watering flowers, taking out valentine's day decorations and dishes etc...

Then in the afternoon we all went to the zoo. Watched the new 4D happy feet film. The 4th dimension effects were quite powerful. My son was freaking out in one of the scenes but even I jumped up when a sharp thing poked me in my back to simulate an icepick.

After the zoo we picked up my Dad and went to soup plantation for a yummy and healthy dinner.

Now at home watching the pre recorded red carpet and the Grammy award show... Too bad I didn't invite my best friend cause my husband is quite non responsive to all the comments I am making about the dresses...

The inspiration for this outfit came from Glamour's August 2011 issue:

I used the idea of a pop color fur coat to create the look with my purple one!

Decided to go with silver accessories with the statement necklace and chains of the purse and even the hose of a bit of silver glimmer...

Keeping the rest of the outfit plain gives the whole attention to the coat!

And to make this outfit kid friendly I switched the fur coat with a green knit blazer and the pink heels with pink flats. I liked this version just as much....

The fact that the flats had a bit of green in them worked perfectly for the outfit!

Don't you just love the hair? I love it when I wear colors that truly show the dark bottom part! To achieve this side swept look I blow dried my hair at night and put it in a high side pony tail! In the morning it was perfect.

Can you believe this blazer was a yellow tag deal at F21 for $14!?

TODAY:
I had a 7 AM infusion appointment so that sucked getting up that early and missed the family breakfast at my mom's... It was nice to get caught up on most of my magazines though. Took the kids to gym class, got my car washed and detailed (buffed out my latest dent) and costco grocery shopped.

Spent the afternoon at home...

After seeing the issue I went upstairs to my jewelry cabinet and got to work layering what I already own...

85% of these are of course from Turkey. Beaded necklaces are somewhat of a tradition there and the bazaars, flea markets and street vendors sell the most beautiful pieces at amazing prices!

10% are purchases from places like Thread shows or tribal pieces collected from exotic trips like Kenya, Brazil, Costa Rica etc...and 5% are from Forever 21...

This one is my favorite...

Now that I look at the Noble House designs I might make more combinations mixing metal with beaded ones as well... The possibilities are endless...

If you are wondering what the cabinet looks like that stores these and many many more....

And some even hanging outside the cabinet cause there is no space left.... Amazingly I know everything I have and where exactly it is hanging in this cabinet! It is a gift I guess...

I don't have a plain purple dress so I wore a top and a skirt (and tights) that amazingly match in exactly the same purple hue!

I could have done cognac brown boots but just wanted to go with black for some reason. May be cause I had just worn the cognac pair yesterday and wearing the same pair of shoes two days in a row is just weird to me now!

I love today's outfit. The inspiration photo has been in my folder for over 2 years now so figured I should wear it before the trends change but amazingly colored tights and fur collars are still in!

Don't you just love the burgundy tights!

I noticed this tiny run in them after I put them on! Who has a run in their panty hose anymore! I was shocked. Of course I was brought up in the era where woman did wear them quite often and knew the trick of immediately putting on clear nail polish to stop the run!

These shorts are very very old. I was reminded by how old they were by their high waist cut style. I don't mind the HW styles where the zipper is on the side so it kind of holds your tummy like a corset. But this one buttons in front which I hate. But I think at the end it looked fine.

I used 5 safety pins to fold this fur scarf in half and attach it to my jacket like a collar. I have a collar one but it was too light colored and I like the punch black makes...

My Chloe purse! I take off the padlock cause even without it it is sooo heavy!

These boots just don't age!

TODAY:

Spent majority part of the morning at home doing laundry, cooking a crock pot meal and catching up on housework. Stopped at Burlington coat factory to look at dresses for my daughter's b-day party. The party is going to take place at this super messy (but cool for them) art place so my friend and I (we are hosting the party together) want a cheap and cute dress. Of course as usual when shopping for a specific item you can never find what you want.

After that store dropped off the kids at my mom's since I have a dr appointment in the afternoon and went to Marshall's. Found everything but a b-day outfit.

Might do Kohl's and/or Target after the appointment.

I got this ridicilously expansive (50% off at marshalls but still pricey) hair product set. Hope it is all that is claimed to be. I will do a more elobarate post if I am happy with the results.

I also found these cutest sandals for my daughter. I can't show them to her though cause she is the type that will immediately want to wear them and can't reason with her about the cold weather!

Aren't they adorable? And at $14 they are a great bargain!

Today's inspiration came from a photo in November 2011 issue of Lucky Magazine:

The whole segment was on wearing bowtie's. and I love finding new outfits to wear my cute velvet bow pin!

Both the chambray button down blouse and this purse was sadly had not been worn in ages. And just like houses are meant to be lived in and cars are meant to be driven to keep up their maintenance clothes are the same way. They get somewhat dusty and moldy like when they haven't been touched for years. I am glad they were worn today.

Added the capri leggings under the mini full skirt. You see I can get away with mini skirts with kids ironically if they are stretchy and tight. If they are flouncy and full they are too unpredictable and leggings are a must.

Wore my old (and much smaller) Chanel sunglasses...

These loafers are possibly one of the oldest shoes in my closet and have been worn to death but I keep them in good condition by polishing them and keeping them in a box with shoe molds.

Pre School day. Had to leave the school early cause my son feel and cut under his chin on the slide. His biggest complaint was the stupid butterfly bandaid. He hates bandaids for some reason.
We left and got them a Mc Donald's lunch which is not something we do often so it is a treat.
Stayed home in the afternoon and at night watched Cars2 from Netflix.

Today's outfit was inspired by Gwen's photo in People Style Watch Magazine back in Jan/Feb of last year:

I initially planned to wear my black sandals which would have looked much better but I was so cold that I couldn't bring myself to do it. Not even for photos. Of course at the park it was totally hot an hour into it but still...

This camouflage pants are actually capri pants. That is why I have the boots pulled up. I added the chain covered belt for some edge. The sequined motorcycle cut jacket always looks great. This was a great find/buy from F21. Added a very simple necklace to keep things in simple...

I actually took my Michael Kors purse to the park if you can believe it!? I can't wait till I can trust my daughter with potty so I can stop carrying a diaper purse. I never really use what is inside but the time I need stuff (like when she has an accident) it is a life saver...

The black and white fedora was perfect with this outfit... And I can't repeat it enough. I truly love my two toned hair.

I got the inspiration for these colors from the hat in the inspiration photo. If you scroll back up you will see the hat has black and white and these colors. I thought it would be hard but it wasn't that hard to do 3 stripes. I let each stripe dry to avoid messiness. The light colors are 2 coats and the orange is one coat.

TODAY:
Went to the outdoor class actually on time and we were the first ones there. Kids got to do the messy art with full attention from the teacher. We had leave early unfortunately to take my daughter to the pedatrician and turns out she does have throat infection and started antibiotics. We stayed home in the afternoon and my mom came to play with the kids. My husband came home early and went grocery shopping with my son. It was nice to have mom play with just my daughter in peace. She was so cute putting all her dolls to sleep, taking them to potty, giving them medicine. She even called the doctor on a pretend lego phone and told the dr her baby was sick. It was so cute seeing her imitate me.
