Liberty Station

Today's outfit was inspired by the lovely DeLaCruz in Chictopia:

This was pretty simple for me to re-create cause I have the same color boots although  mine are not over the knee. I am drawn to outfits like these because the base peices are very comfy: leggings, tee, cardigan.

The outfit actually is quite simple until you add the faux fur scarf and the slouchy boots. I wanted to keep the fur pretty open and away from my neck since the weather is on the warmer side so I used a pretty pin to hold it together. The weather is actually definitely nice enough here to break the spring outfits but I just don't want to let go of fall yet while it is still acceptable to wear boots and fur I want to wear more outfits from this list before switching to spring/summer.

These are my denim leggings. They have the look of skinny jeans but are thin and comfy like leggings. I do love though they still have back pockets. Pockets are key when you are a mom. You always need to stash something it seems from keys to tissues to pacifier. Currently my backpocket is holding our grocery list and my daughters hair pin.

Cardigan - Forever 21
White tee- Target
Denim leggings - Elle from Kohl's
Boots - Via Spiga
Faux fur scarf - came with a shrug from Victoria's secret

Will you join me?
I am participating in the Color Rotation Challange hosted by Colleen at Scrap and Run.
I am not the one for long challanges but this one is only 1 week + 1 day long if you do just one rotation which is my plan...
It starts tomorrow, March 15th and here is the order of colors:
Pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and then any pattern
You can check out the rules in this link.

Today's Activities:
We switched our schedule this week cause the preschool has asked me to give a presentation to the mommies regarding fashion tips for moms since they heard I have a fashion blog. I worked on the outline yesterday and will work on the handout as soon as I finish this post. Since the preschool is in two different groups Tue-Thu class group and M-W class group I have to go tomorrow therefore we went to the outdoor class today instead of tomorrow.
I will spare you my usual vent about how much I dislike Monday's but just imagine a hard morning once again, plus the time change is killing me.
I cooked during naps and finally I have smartened enough to cook in bigger portions so I can freeze the half for another night. My husband is sick probably has what I had so he is sick at home. Poor thing. At least he can rest and work from home and not have to run after kids or have them jump on his sick body in bed.
Our afternoon was somewhat killed by the cutco sales guy presentation. I have sold cutco knives way back when and this guy is working towards a scholarship so wanted to help out. But it took quite long and the kids were going nuts. As soon as he left we went to the indoor play place.
Not sure where and how I am going to fit grocery shopping. May be after dinner while they are home with my husband. Grocery shopping is always a challange and such a boring errand for me.

Here are some photos from our morning at the park...
My son insisted I take a photo of him swinging:

My daughter in her new outfit sent my husband's grandmother yesterday. So practical and cute.

Peacock Ranch

My inspiration came from the lovely sisters @ Fashion Fabrice:

I could have gone with my what I call 'red carpet' scarf which has more subdued colors of burgandy and deep burnt orange. But I really wanted to wear this new scarf I found at TJ Maxx couple weeks ago...

I just love how the electric blue pops up against the white and the brown.
This blazer jacket has a velvety texture. It is once again from my mom's closet. And when I pulled it off the hanger I realized it has a matching fitted vest! What a bonus. Oh, the possibilities now...

When it got warm mid day and walking at the park I took off the jacket but kept the scarf. Still looks cool with the burgandy ribbed tank. I got this tank and a military green one for our big safari trip to Kenya back in 2004. I usually wear them on top of each other as the two colors go really nicely. They are also great layering pieces as you can see...

I was somewhat on a rush so not much time to pick accessories. Decided on these burnished gold orange earings. To match the inspiration outfit I paired navy ankle socks with the navy patent peep toes. They are definitely unexpected under cargos for sure.

But, of course these heels are so not realistic with kids so here comes the rugged boots instead...

All the photos are taken by my friend at her backyard. We had a full day playdate gathering at her house today!

Today's Activities: Oh, I can't tell you how good it feels to feel good again. My ear is still a bit puffy and hurts a little but my energy is back. Made me realize how much we take good health and a happy state of mind for granted as we rush through our days. I couldn't survive at least not as an active SAHM without my energy and that deep supply of patience and understanding when they my 3.5 year asks 'why' for the 5th time.
My husband was more than eager to help us pack up and leave the house this morning as we headed to my friend's house for a playdate. They live 30 miles north of us so usually when we visit each other it is usually for at least a few hours. We had a fun morning with the kids and stayed on for naps.
In the afternoon we went this amazing amazing park to see the wild running peacocks. Oh the scenery was just breathtaking. Very rustic which is totally my style. Would have been an amazing place to do an outfit photo shoot. IF only we didn't have 4 little kids running in 4 different direction on a very uneven ground with deliate looking but could cause harm peacocks around. So, no. But, I did take photos of the area as we walked around.

Here are some:

And here is the georgous all white peacock...

Our 3 Muskateers... They ran across the bridgne ahead of us and sat on this bench all on their own and started giggling. Lucky I was still on the other side to snap the photo...

Medicated

Can you beleive it, I am dressed? Well barely. My hair is wet and I have no make up on but hey I put on an outfit besides yoga pants and uggs. This was supposed to be worn 3 days ago before I got sick so it was just sitting out already. The inspiration photo is below:

I picked this inspiration cause it was using a odd colored velvet blazer (which I have) and a white bead necklace (which I have). See it was a way for me to use these two pieces which has been collecting dust in the closet.

I also have not worn these work slacks in ages. Luckily they must have bought from a time where I was the same size so they fit perfectly. Yeay.

I like this white and white accessory look. I wish I had some brown booties as that would have been better.

This was right before I used every single ounce of energy I could gather to shower and get dressed to take the kids to the indoor play area. My motivation to get them going is pedialite popsicles.

Today's Activities: So woke up feeling still horrible and now with a bigger swell around my right ear. I took all the meds plus pain releivers and waited laying on the couch while my daughter filled every single cup of theirs with water and carried it over to me while spilling them everywhere to which my son kept screaming 'she is spilling'. Yeah, so very relaxing.
But then the pills kicked in and I made the most of this short lived energy burst to clean the dishes, shower and get dressed and get the kids ready and out the door. The indoor place was not much better for me as there are no couches to lay on but at least the kids were having fun and not jumping on me. Fed them lunch there and brough them home just in time for naps. And crashed as soon as they were down.

Unfortunately no help was in sight in the afternoon and I had lost all the energy to go back out again. We again broke the rules and popped in a movie but then my husband came home early and took them to the park before sunset so they can get some fresh air.

God, I hope I feel a bit better tomorrow. I am so tired of feeling so sick and exhausted and in pain.

Snapped some photos of the kids after my photos...

I told her to say 'cheese'!
