Let Serve

This is what I wore to the tennis tournament in Palm Dessert on Saturday. It was above 93 degrees and the seats were smack in the middle of the sun. When we were watching the game you kind of tolerated the heat but in between it was un bearable at times. This strapless dress (by kikaPaprika) was the perfect choice as it is breathable cotton but the maxi length protected from the sun. But should have brought towels to soak in water and put around our neck or something to bear the heat...

SATURDAY:
Initially we were going to go as two couples to the tournament but my friend couldn't get a sitter so we went with her husband and my Dad instead.
It was the semi-finals of the BNP Paribas tournament in Indian Wells. My first professional tennis tournament and it was quite cool. You can sense the classiness of the viewers and how they applauded good tennis and gave credit if the point was won by an opponent if it was well deserved.
My husband and Dad play regularly in local leagues and our friend also plays quite often so I was the only one that wasn't a tennis buff.

Au Naturel

Yesterday and today, I had laid back days and decided to be cozy and comfy with some kika Paprika legging combo outfits...

I liked the simplicity of this white, red and navy combination. This top is such a cool easy to wear top. It was delayed in production so happy to finally have it in the collection....

TODAY:

Had a super cute leprechaun hunt at my daughter's pre-school today. She was sooo into it and totally believed it. Now she tells everyone how she has to wear green to not get pinched.

After school I attempted to get my nails done with her which was not easy as she kept falling off all the chairs on wheels and had no interest in the ipad I took with us. But we managed. Then it was off to pick up my son and his friend to take them to t-ball practice then home to pack them up to send them off to my mom's. Then emptied the car of car seats and took it for a wash.

Realizing we didn't have the kids and didn't have to wait until 8 pm to exercise, my hubby and I did the 1.5 hour workout first then treated ourselves to dinner out afterwards.

Tomorrow is a big day driving up to Palm Springs to watch the Indian Wells tennis tournament! A first for me.

Matching in yellow jeans

Well, sorry for the long absence this weekend as we had my husband's grandparents visiting us there was no time log in at all. I also failed to take my outfit photos on Saturday and Sunday but actually did dress up blog worthy. Oh well... This is what I wore today (Monday). And I will also post what I wore last Friday which I never got to post...

Today's outfit was inspired by this Magazine photo:

A simple combo but allowed me to remix these yellow jeans and debut my new structured purse from shoedazzle!

The handmade necklaces from craft fair bazaar in Turkey 3 years ago....

Don't you just LOVE this bag? It also comes in black and brown but I loved this tan and white version. And it is sooo roomy and due to structured shape so easy to find everything in it.

So, at this point I have to tell you about the big incident that occurred this weekend:
MY DAUGHTER BUTCHERED HER HAIR with her brother's craft scissors within 10 minutes while my husband was having dinner with the grandparents downstairs while I was at my book club meeting with the girls. I was devastated. I know there are so many worse things but trust me when it happens to you, you just can't help this feeling. All her beautiful 'golden' hair as she called it gone. And not just gone just butchered beyond repair. The only way to repair it would have been going with a pixie cut but I wasn't ready for that so we are going to be in this awkward 'bob' cut for a while.

But look how cute she posed like me as we dressed alike today!

You can't teach to pose like this. This is pure inheritance I have to say! :)

This babydoll top is actually short sleeved so I added my kika paprika long sleeve cotton top underneath to layer....

Love the pearl and spike headband. Currently I can't locate this in the house though. Bumming me out...
