Shake my soul

Today's combo was inspired by Dec 2013 catalog of J Crew:

I liked the shiny leather like leggings that add interest and I had to add a bit more edge with the spiked necklace...

Did a straight hairstyle today just for change...

Sweater - Tildon
Blouse - Zara
Leggings - Macy's
Necklace - Forever 21
Bracelets - some website I can't remember now

TUESDAY:
Morning was fun. Our outdoor class had a free class scheduled with a Karate School. We had done it couple years ago and the kids had loved it and we had signed up for their promotional class afterwards so my daughter was looking forward to it. This time though they made us part of the class so my legging outfit and easy to slip off shoes with no socks came in really handy.
I didn't sign up for a class but I did purchase their promotional birthday package which was a steal for my son's 7th birthday this summer. Now just need to sell him on the idea…

After class we skipped the playground portion and went to the craft store to purchase stuff for the leprechaun trap house we are going to build.  My daughter has been waiting for this since last year. I even saved a small box that will be perfect for the project. We also hit big lots and I purchased a few containers so I can clean out our garage which has gotten out of hand.

Then went to the indoor play area so I can get caught up on emails, looking for flights and job search. And best part my daughter just plays and plays and never complains for any electronics or messes up the house or gets into trouble with scissors or glitter glue. :)

After we picked up my son and came home we started painting the leprechaun trap box in metallic gold. Decorating will be tomorrow. Had my son do his homework and had the kids play while cooking dinner.

Same old song and dance

Today's combo was inspired by Who What Wear website again:

Just laid back and casual but the pop color hat kind of makes the outfit…
I don't like these photos much though. The combination of that neckline of the sweater and the hat just makes my face fuller it seems. Oh well now that I see the photos I realize that.

Sweater Cape - Old Navy
Leather Sleeve Top, Jeans - Forever 21
Hat - Lucky
Purse - Shoedazzle.com
Boots - Vintage Jeffrey Campbell
Bracelets - Cookie Lee & Fossil

MONDAY:
Oh my goodness the house was an absolute mess this morning, since I was out all day yesterday and the kids had come back from a weekend away and whenever I am out within even 1 hour the house get quite out of hand. So, this morning had my husband take my son to give me a bit more time so I could unpack and put away everything and get the house back to normal. My friend brought her daughter again so I could take her to preschool while she spends time with her newborn.
After school we came home so I can continue picking up the house and starting laundry and cleaning the fridge. Then it was picking up my son coming home for a slew of snacks the boy has to eat before feeling full and homework then to swim practice then home to showers and dinner and bed time.

I got Spring on my mind now. Since I spent two days browsing the stores and seeing the new upcoming trends I am constantly imagining spring outfits with the pieces I have and figuring out what I would like vs. really need etc…  I love the start of new season. So many new opportunities...

Let It Go

Today's outfit for a day of shopping and hanging with my lil sis and my mom….
The title of the post is from the Frozen song my daughter sings all the time now and won the Oscar for best original song!

The inspiration came from 'who what wear' website:

I love the laid back chicness of this outfit. The skirt is mini but topped with a fluid trench, low heel boots and a beret it is dressed down in a casual chic kind of way….

I bought this trench at H&M yesterday! It is super soft and totally moveable and the length is long but too long. Just perfect….

This skirt is great. The waist is soft and non restricting and it is a bit loose so I can pull it down to make it not so mini. The material is thick faux leather so it doesn't fly open in the wind… And a great tonal animal print makes it very cool….

Trench - H&M
Top - Charlotte Russe
Skirt - Rock Republic (from Kohl's)
Beret, Earrings, some of the rings - Forever 21
Boots - Steve Madden

TODAY (SUNDAY):
Another day without the kids. Woke up and showered and dressed right away so my hubby and I could go out to breakfast just the two of us. Went to a place we love the food but don't go cause they are small and usually have a wait and the service is slow which is tough with the kids. Afterwards I picked up my mom and we went to the mall. Then my sister joined us too. Had a totally leisurely day with no purpose just browsing and enjoying each other's company. Trying on clothes we will not buy nor can afford. Checking out department stores we normally don't shop from cause we are all big bargain shoppers. It was very very nice.

And afterwards mom and I went to my friend's house to her Oscar party to watch the Oscars and all the read carpet fashion together drinking cocktails and enjoying the yummy appetizers…
So the one movie I did NOT see of course won 3 oscar's including the best photo. I need to see it now if I can find a friend who doesn't find it too depressing.
My daughter's movie and her favorite song won the oscar so she will be happy.

My husband did the drive up north to pick up the kids. I got to kiss them when I got home.

Tomorrow we are back to reality….
The reality that was great to take a break from but I can't wait to get back to… :)

With my mom...
