I am a great beleiver in over dressing

This was the sports jersey gone chic outfit I wore to my son's 7th Birthday Party….

Inspired by Vogue Sept 2013 Issue:

You  might ask why I own this Jersey well it was purchased by my brother for my son when he was 1 or 2 years old. My brother who had no kids at the time was under the impression this size was appropriate for that age somehow! He still has one more year to grow into it but fits me fine….

SUNDAY:
Well it was the last day of our crazy weekend. Woke up super early to try to catch my son in his bed but I was too late even by 6:15 he was already downstairs. I don't know when this kid wakes up. He is crazy. Got him to come back to bed with us and we cuddled and wished him a big happy birthday and gave him the Football Jersey present. Shortly after breakfast we left for the Karate Studio where his party was to take place. It was a great venue. My son has no interest in Karate but this place had an amazing party package with unlimited number of kids that I couldn't refuse. They taught a very fun 30 minute class for all the kids then ran the pinata process, had my son and daughter break a wooden board and even had him cut his cake with a samurai sword. All the kids loved and they exerted so much energy and were tired at the end….

My in-laws made it to the party and came home with us afterwards visiting from Ventura county. Had the kids relax and play as I unpacked and cleaned the party stuff. My son opened a few presents but I make him write a thank you card for each present he opens so it will take him a while to open them all.

My son shared a bday with his grandpa who celebrated his 70th on Sunday! So I made the two birthday boys an amazing surf and turf dinner with filet mignon steak and Alaskan king crab leg.
Added sausage, hard boiled egg and boiled potatoes and grilled asparagus and tomato and marinated mushrooms. Even got them special pots to serve the meal.

Yes my son ate 90% of that plate. He is something else when it comes to food. Crab legs and lobster and sushis are his favorites followed by noodles.

Shake my soul

Today's combo was inspired by Dec 2013 catalog of J Crew:

I liked the shiny leather like leggings that add interest and I had to add a bit more edge with the spiked necklace...

Did a straight hairstyle today just for change...

TUESDAY:
Morning was fun. Our outdoor class had a free class scheduled with a Karate School. We had done it couple years ago and the kids had loved it and we had signed up for their promotional class afterwards so my daughter was looking forward to it. This time though they made us part of the class so my legging outfit and easy to slip off shoes with no socks came in really handy.
I didn't sign up for a class but I did purchase their promotional birthday package which was a steal for my son's 7th birthday this summer. Now just need to sell him on the idea…

After class we skipped the playground portion and went to the craft store to purchase stuff for the leprechaun trap house we are going to build.  My daughter has been waiting for this since last year. I even saved a small box that will be perfect for the project. We also hit big lots and I purchased a few containers so I can clean out our garage which has gotten out of hand.

Then went to the indoor play area so I can get caught up on emails, looking for flights and job search. And best part my daughter just plays and plays and never complains for any electronics or messes up the house or gets into trouble with scissors or glitter glue. :)

After we picked up my son and came home we started painting the leprechaun trap box in metallic gold. Decorating will be tomorrow. Had my son do his homework and had the kids play while cooking dinner.
