What if you fly

 What I wore on Tuesday as I drove my daughter and 5 of her friends to their class field trip to the Natural History Museum....

THe idea was a loose dress with tall boots. I paired mine with a same shade cardigan for the layered look and this plaid scarf has a touch of grey in it so went really nice with the dress...

TUESDAY:
It was crazy driving 3 boys and 3 girls in my minivan and they had a singing competition between them. You can only imagine the volume in the car!
But the kids had so much fun and learned a lot...
I was exhausted but kept up with my diet as I packed all the food I could have the night before and had 3 bottles of water to drink throughout the day.
Plus the teacher let us not attend the movie we had all seen with our older kids and some of the moms went out for a cup of coffee which was a nice treat...

THURSDAY:
Went to ballet in the morning then hit the grocery store and attempted to bake these 'hot cross buns' that were mentioned so much in the last book we read (A Husband's Secret). They are apparently common in England and Australia (where the book takes place) during Easter weekend on a good Friday for breakfast…  I am not a baker so it was an experiment working with yeast. Takes a long time cause the main dough had to rise for 2 hours then you form the buns and wait another 40 minutes for them rise again before baking. They did turn out pretty good.
We then picked up my son hit the library for homework and returning books then to the rec center for them to play and a tennis class. When we got home I cooked dinner as quickly as possible for my starving son who can never eat enough and is growing inches I think everyday from all the food and exercise. Then packed up all the things I was taking and got out of there the minute my husband came home. Just as I was getting into my car I heard my friend who lives up the street call out my name so we carpooled together to the book club meeting.
Another great night of potluck dinner, margaritas and great discussion on the book.

It was an interesting combo to wear my harem pants which I don't that often at all. And this shades of grey and taupe is kind of cool.

I tried it with the brown wedges but it was boring. I felt the fashion sneaker wedges were cooloer...

TODAY:
I have a bit more wiggle room Tuesday mornings so it is nice. I actually get to sleep in until 7 AM. Once I get all the lunches packed and send off my hubby and son, I can relax and eat my breakfast sitting down. We then head to outdoor class which was by the beach today but the weather was quite cold and I even wore my silver grey parka over this outfit which looked silly but I was cold.
By noon it warmed up. We went to the indoor play area so I can job search but then got a call from the school to find out my son does not have after school science today as they apparently skipped a week before starting session 2, so I had to rush to pick him up from the office which I felt so bad.
We came home to rest and then homework and their halloween costumes arrived in the mail so they were stoked. I love my 'mad hatter' costume too. My daughter of course has 3 costumes this halloween so she can wear different ones to different events. The one that arrived is the Monster High, Abby Abominable outfit. I had to narrow her selection to a suitable one as some of the monster high costumes are quite racy... This one is cute though with fuzzy leg and arm warmers and white hair with blue and pink extensions.

 I have a very similar grey and black striped t-neck actually but I was too worried about the weather warming up so I decided do a t-shirt and cardigan layers instead....

TODAY:
A day cramped with appointments today... After pre-school my friend and her mom and her kids came over. After lunch they shopped my clearance racks and we had so much fun putting together outfits. I ran to get my son but then was running late. My mom came to the rescue. Not only did she bring a customer to shop my racks but also took my daughter to her ballet rehearsal so I can stay home.
My son was excited about building a new lego set.
We joined for a free trial month for this Netflix of legos club called 'Pleygo'. 
Just like Netflix you pick a Que. of lego sets your kid likes. They send you the set with the instructions. Once your kid builds it and plays with it you break it down and send it back and they send you the next set in your queue.
I think it is brilliant. A huge part of the lego play is the act of building. Kids hardly play with the sets once they are built. So instead of constantly buying new sets this I feel will satisfy his thirst for building.
We'll see. He built the set he got within an hour and was very happy with it.
