Coastal Breeze

My outfit on Sunday as we left portland and drove to the coast. The outfit held really nicely. The skirt was comfy and the fitted vest stayed put. The scarf was light so never bothered me...

The inspiration was from 'Late Afternoon' blog....

If it was chilly I added the only 'jacket' I brought with me on the trip: Denim Shirt....

Added an extension chain to this necklace so it hit right on the tee and showed under the scarf...

This skirt and these sandals were purchased for my trip to Turkey 4 years ago!
Denim Vest - thrifted
Tee - kika Paprika
Scarf - TJ Maxx
Necklace - Gift
Skirt & Sandals - Victoria's Secret

SUNDAY - last day in Oregon:
We started the morning by packing and then hitting the famous voodoo doughnuts before we leave the city... I would say the taste was not worth the wait but I would have regretted if I never tried it before leaving.

Portland's famous 'Voodoo Doughnut' shop. Always a long line in front of it.

We shared a cab with our friends to the airport The two of them flew back to San Diego and we picked up a rental car and started our road trip to Oregon's coast. Took the road 26 to Cannon beach then rode down highway 101 and then took road 6 back to Portland.

 Fresh crab meat so yummy....

HAYSTACK ROCK
The rock looked a lot closer than we thought when we parked our car. It was probably a mile walk each way but well worth it as the wildlife by the towering rock was magnificent....

TILLAMOOK ROCK LIGHTHOUSE
When we arrived at this park after paying $5 for entrance first I thought we just came to a lookout to see the back of Haystack rock we already saw after our mile hike in the beach. So I walked back to the car all pissed off. My friend called me shortly though and told me the lighthouse was seen from here down the hill. So I went back. And sure enough it was there about the size of a postage stamp. Thank goodness for my camera lens we got a bit better view... I LOVE lighthouses. The two I saw on the map were the main reasons I wanted to take the drive to the coast....

GORGEOUS ROADS THRU THE PINE FORESTS

I COULDN'T GET ENOUGH OF THESE TALL AND LUSCIOUS PINE TREES....

Roadside lookout point...

MANY SMALL COASTAL TOWNS WE PASSED THROUGH....

The famous Tillamook Cheese Factory
Unfortunately on the weekends it is open but there are no workers in the factory so you don't get the full effect. There were 2 guys though packaging the cheddar cheese into huge blocks to be aged.
We then got to taste all their varieties and had a nice cup of coffee there....

THE DAY IS COMING TO AN END...

Found this lighthouse so late in the day right before sunset and it became pitch black... Took us forever as we kept getting lost.... But finally found it. It was worth it. There was no one there. It was so peaceful and eerie at the same time...

THIS IS HOW DARK IT WAS AS WE WALKED TO THE LIGHTHOUSE

AND ON THE WALK BACK EVEN DARKER...

BYE PORTLAND, BYE OREGON.....
