New Blazer New Car

Today's funky outfit!

Inspired by this cool chictopia post:

I added this outfit to my list but couldn't really wear it until I acquired this pink blazer. 

The floral tee under is soooo old. It might be actually from my late highschool or early college days.

 

I tried on about 4 different kinds of blazers in slightly varying shades of pink, peach and blush. I liked this one's long cut and satin like sheen. Bought in a bigger size so it will be roomy. 

The adorable metal bow belt is the end of a long search for such belt. Found it in TJ Maxx and it is a Betsey Johnson.

 I had bought this purse to use it as a diaper bag and did for a while but it wouldn't close so switched to another bag and kept this one to use as a regular purse.

 How idiotic is that!? I left some sort of a bar code sticker on the sunglasses during this whole photo shoot. These were part of my mom's b-day gift and I didn't know it had a sticker on it till after!

 This satin scarf covered headband was purchased years ago from Nordstrom Rack.

TODAY:
Down to one car we had to coordinate all the events today. My husband took the kids to my mom's in the morning. My dad picked me up to go to his infusion appointment together and afterwards we went to pick up my new car! Then drove to my  mom's and installed the car seats and picked up the kids. I thought I would have time to arrange all the stuff back in the new car but no luck as I barely had time to change into gym clothes. Met my friend and her kids near the gym. Thank goodness she had brought dinner for all of us so we could eat before the weight lifting class. Unfortunatley her little one cried so much that they had to come and get her and she left mid class.
The kids love the new car. My son calls it 'fillmore' cause it looks like the green bus in the CARS movie. They kept asking what was all the extra seats for.

I swore years ago that I would NEVER own or drive a mini-van. And look at me now! 

Ikat tank and harem pants

 This was my outfit yesterday as we left to car shop!

The inspiration came from a Eliza's blog called 'Dear Eliza'... She was displaying her purchases from shopbop I think:

 

This outfit reminded me of the tribal tank I got and that I could pair it with the harem pants and my red flats and a motorcycle cut jacket. So, there it is:

 The coral and turquoise feather necklace looked great with the colors...

 Broke in my  new purse - bday gift from my mom and step dad.

YESTERDAY: 

Hosted probably one of the last monday pool playdates at my house. We are all so upset to come to realize summer coming to an end and we will miss our Monday get together's so much. The kids were so funny inviting us upstairs to give us a concert they put together. Wish we went up with a camera.

After they left and the kids napped got the bad news about my car. It was the transmission and it would cost way too much so after many phone calls we decided it would be better to get it towed to a dealer and trade it in as is. 

So my mom and step dad came to babysit while us and my dad left to purchase a car. Well, 4 hours later we were the proud owners of a mini-van but no car since the color I want won't come until tomorrow (which is now today). 

Wait for a post later tonight....

White Short Suit

 Here is the outfit from last night finally! Was sooo out of this all day today. I wonder why? :)

The inspiration was from People Style Watch of Gweneth Paltrow in a sleek white short suit:

To achieve this look I used the H&M high waist shorts and the Forever 21 white blazer. These shorts are very high quality and thick and dressy. I wore a black sequined bustier underneath.

I initially borrowed my mom's booties which are very similar to the ones in the photo but my ankles are too skinny and they didn't look right. So I went with my own Juicy's.

This cuff necklace was exactly what I was looking for so I jumped on it when I saw it at F21 months ago. I am hoping it does not get tarnished.

 Our cab showed up early so these photos were taken in just a minute and very rushed. This always happens whenever I dress for a night out. We never have time for good photos. Such a shame cause those are usually the outfits that deserve more recognition...

LAST NIGHT: 
We had an amazing fun night with our parent group. We all met for dinner at 6 PM. We were chatting so much that ended up ordering the food late and not having time to finish it. Which probably was the reason why I was so hung over with not enough food in my stomach. After dinner we walked over to the Comedy Club. Watched 3 comedians and laughed a lot. After that it becomes a little blurry but there was a bar and more drinking then a late night stop at IHop before cabbing it home.
I went through 3 pain killers today and still don't feel 100%. To top it all after I picked up the kids from my mom's my car broke down a block down the road. AGAIN! Got it towed to a repair shop but of course they are closed on a Sunday so won't know until tomorrow. We are thinking it is time for a new car. I just can't have this fear of breaking down on the road with two kids in the car!
