Who is Wearing Kika? - Me

Since we are at the end of our season I wanted to one last post of 'Who is Wearing Kika?' modeling them myself....

I meant to model a lot more outfits but this whole process was exhausting. I have a whole new appreciation for the models I had over the past few months that did this like a champ!
I was tired after the 3rd outfit and just stayed in it for the rest of the day.
I don't mind the effort it takes to get dressed but styling and changing many outfits in one time was not for me. Plus since I was doing this solo it was time consuming, taking the photos myself, hanging back clothes deciding on what to wear and how to style it etc...

So, here are my 3 outfits...

OUTFIT #1
I wanted to model this versatile jacket that can be worn so many different ways. I alternated between open and belted in the front at first...

Another version would be to wear back to front and belt it...

'Audrey' Cardigan in azure blue by kikaPaprika $68
'Julia' top in black by kikaPaprika $65
Leggings in black by kikaPaprika $58

Outfit #2
Same cardigan but paired over white jeans and floral tee from last season with fashion sneakers....

Inspiration:

'Audrey' Cardigan in azure blue by kikaPaprika $68 (or buy this one at half price)
'Aurora' t-shirt in azure blue burnout lace by kikaPaprika from last season (size 1 sample $29)

OUTFIT #3
I have always loved mixing red with colors like aqua and turquoise and teal...
This color is called 'Turq' in our collection but I feel it is more like a teal...
I truly love these triangle scarves. They are so amazingly soft and cozy and so easy to use.... I hope we continue to carry them this coming season too....

'Jackie' thermal cardigan in turq by kikaPaprika $95 (or buy this sample for $48)

'Julia' top in black by kikaPaprika $65
Leggings in black by kikaPaprika $58

My sample sale will be starting Jan 20th so I will post some photos of my  half price items that week as well...

WEEKEND:
We had a fun day Saturday attempting to take the kids on a hike. We have been waiting for this for quite sometime as we both love to hike and can't wait till we go on long and challenging family hikes all over our city and on vacation when the kids get older. This was an introduction as my daughter is still very young at almost 4 yrs of age. To top it all though the natural reserve we chose apparently is one of 8 among 200+ state parks that did not allow food! And we had bought and packed our lunch and planned to eat on top of the hill. Then we found out the parking on top was booked so we had to walk up this very long uphill road just to get to the trails. That pretty much ended up being the hike itself and not being able to eat and with the kids starving we did this tiny loop hike and returned back and ate lunch at the beach.

Beautiful Torrey Pines beach....

One Day More

This interesting combo I wore on Friday was inspired by the October 2012 issue of Lucky Magazine:
This wasn't easy to create. I switched the ruffles with a faux fur collar of the vest. I double belted to create that super large belt look. I initially tried with my burgundy t-strap heels but it just didn't look right. These chunky Dr. Marten looking boots looked better somehow...

Vest, Necklace, Bracelet - LOFT
Shirt - H&M
Leather Leggings - Macy's
Belts - from Turkey
Boots - Target

FRIDAY:
Babysat the friend's son again took him to my daughter's class with us. They did a mini New Year's day parade around the building which was cute.
In the afternoon met my friend with the kids at the mall. Now that it gets dark so soon the kids were so weirded out about being outside in the dark. They had this funky fearful look on their faces but the mall was full of people and music playing so it was OK. We had dinner and my husband met us there to have dinner and then take the kids home and I stayed with my friend to finally see Les Miz. It was great. Definitely slow and lots of singing but it is one of my favorite soundtracks and there were some great acting too....

Monkey Bars

This chunky and super cozy number was for meeting the girls for dinner for restaurant week tonight!

The inspiration was from Allure's Nov 2012 issue:

I was initially worried how thick this whole outfit was. The sweater is super warm and the full a-line midi leather skirt definitely adds a lot of warmth all paired with knee high boots I twas definitely dressed for cold. But as luck with have it the restaurant we went had only a table on their patio so my outfit was just perfect to a t. I didn't even need to use the blankets they provided.
A lot of people wouldn't wear such outfit as it definitely does not do any justice to any shape or curves but I like taking chances more for the sake of fashion than always looking perfectly shaped. Plus I did enjoy how comfortable everything felt...

Sweater - Forever 21
Necklace - J Crew
Skirt - Thread Show
Boots - Escada (very old from New York City's Century 21)

TODAY:
To help out the family that is renting a room from my parents I offered to babysit their son who is off school while they continue their language school which has started. We had plans to go to the zoo with a couple mommy friends so took their son with us. Unfortunately discovered I never put back the stroller in my car after the vacation and San Diego Zoo is no place to be stranded without a stroller and 3 kids. Luckily my daughter held her ground and walked the whole day without much wining. Borrowed a seat from friend's strollers a few times but that was it. 4 hours of walking and playing, both the kids and the mommies were exhausted.

Came home to change and get ready and took them all to my mom's to visit for a while then met my girlfriends for dinner.
We had an amazing dinner. The $20 prefix menu was superb value both in quality and in quantity. Usually during restaurant week pre-fix menus they make you share the salad and/or the dessert and things are half size. Here everything as full sized and it was a full 3 course meal per person. Good value on the wine too. We were there for over 2 hours fighting the guilt we felt with a line of people waiting for a table. As always being out with the girls was the best relaxation method ever.
