What I wore Saturday night as we had a low key dinner at the resort as we waited for the rest of the family members to arrive...

SATURDAY NIGHT:
We met up with grandparents on our connecting flight and flew in together... Checked into our suite which is amazing with 4 bedrooms and 3 kitchens and a living room. And later that night the cousins arrived and the kids were in heaven to re-unite...
The girls have a cute suite and the boys share a pull out couch! :)

Props to Crops

This was worn Tuesday night taking out my son's 1st grade teacher for happy hour with other class parents!

The inspiration was from the beautiful Bee from Atlantic Pacific:

I could never match the quality of her clothes but I did love this pairing of black and white stripes over the fitted midi skirt in hot pink…. And somehow I pulled off a slightly cropped top (or I hope I did). This is as cropped as I can do I feel at my age. The top is not cropped unless I lift my arms as you can see from other photos…
And I decided to add my black and white heels instead of all black cause I love these heels and they always look so sexy and edgy under everything.

This oversized pearl earrings look super cool with the outfit right?
And couldn't stop there and added turquoise leather ring and wrap around bracelet too...

My mom thrifted this Boston Proper crochet skirt as a gift for me. So stretchy and comfy and fully lined.

This is the third outfit I am pairing with the pouch clutch my sister got me for Mother's Day. It just adds the right amount of pop of color and fun….

TUESDAY:
Knowing I was going to dress up in the afternoon I started the day wearing workout clothes so I can fit in a workout before showering and going out. Went to my daughter's outdoor class in the park. It was the last class of the semester but right next week the summer semester will start so no big good-bye's yet. Afterwards we got home and I did a workout and shower and picked up my son and brought him home where my mom met me to take over the kids so I can go out with the parents and my son's teacher for an early happy hour to thank her for all her hard work all school year long. There were a few dad's and mostly mom's and it was so much fun to get to know everyone over drinks. Too bad the school is almost over but you never know we might be in the same class again next year or the year after…
Got home and immediately changed and cleaned up dinner dishes and helped get the kids to bed so by the time my husband came home he couldn't believe I had already gone out and come back. AT least I had photos to prove what I looked like! :)

Our teacher is the one in the middle in a white top...

Monkey Bars

This chunky and super cozy number was for meeting the girls for dinner for restaurant week tonight!

The inspiration was from Allure's Nov 2012 issue:

I was initially worried how thick this whole outfit was. The sweater is super warm and the full a-line midi leather skirt definitely adds a lot of warmth all paired with knee high boots I twas definitely dressed for cold. But as luck with have it the restaurant we went had only a table on their patio so my outfit was just perfect to a t. I didn't even need to use the blankets they provided.
A lot of people wouldn't wear such outfit as it definitely does not do any justice to any shape or curves but I like taking chances more for the sake of fashion than always looking perfectly shaped. Plus I did enjoy how comfortable everything felt...

TODAY:
To help out the family that is renting a room from my parents I offered to babysit their son who is off school while they continue their language school which has started. We had plans to go to the zoo with a couple mommy friends so took their son with us. Unfortunately discovered I never put back the stroller in my car after the vacation and San Diego Zoo is no place to be stranded without a stroller and 3 kids. Luckily my daughter held her ground and walked the whole day without much wining. Borrowed a seat from friend's strollers a few times but that was it. 4 hours of walking and playing, both the kids and the mommies were exhausted.

Came home to change and get ready and took them all to my mom's to visit for a while then met my girlfriends for dinner.
We had an amazing dinner. The $20 prefix menu was superb value both in quality and in quantity. Usually during restaurant week pre-fix menus they make you share the salad and/or the dessert and things are half size. Here everything as full sized and it was a full 3 course meal per person. Good value on the wine too. We were there for over 2 hours fighting the guilt we felt with a line of people waiting for a table. As always being out with the girls was the best relaxation method ever.

Lavish Display

My outfit on Christmas Day. Another loosely based on the Anthropologie catalog inspiration...
I could have added my fur collar or snood to this outfit to match perfectly but I wanted my new necklace (gift from my hubby) to show....

Isn't this gorgeous? I love, love, love it...

CHRISTMAS DAY:
Our morning started so early with kids anxious to open their gifts. First from Santa then from everyone else. My husband cooked a big breakfast with eggs and bacon and sausage so we ate heartily in between. The gift opening frenzy was exhausting but fun. My son savored each gift while my daughter was more interested in opening one after another. Towards the end of the day actually she lost ability to comprehend what she even got.
Afterwards I debated taking a nap but instead put away everything and cleaned up and got ready to spend the rest of the day at my mom's with the family again.

It was nice not being the host and just sitting and enjoying everything.
