Splish Splash

There is going to be a lot of beach and pool days in the coming months and usually I count those days as 'no outfit' day but figured once in a while I should show what I wear.
So here you go this is what I wore to our Monday beach playdate.

I had always wondered where do people wear sweaters over swim suits but realized our chilly in the morning weather was perfect for such pairing.

My friend got me this gorgeous beach bag a few years ago. It goes so nicely to my new fun colored rash guard….

And here is how I looked when the weather warmed.
I got this rash guard from Nordstrom Online before the season began and it is super cute and perfect coverage when I am with the kids and not really swimming myself. It has the right kind of coverage without looking like a 'mommy top'….

Sweater - Costco
Rash Guard - Nordstrom's
Baseball Cap - Comic Con
Skirt - DKNY (very very old)
Flip Flops - BCBG
Bag - Marc Jacobs
Sunglasses - Forever 21

MONDAY:
For 3 summers in a row now 4 of my friends rotate hosting Monday Playdates as one of the mother's work and Monday is her only day off during the week.
But, first my son started his Surf & Skate Camp on Monday.
I drop him off at the beach where he will start with a 3 hour surfing lesson then a lunch break followed by a 3 hour skateboard lesson and I pick him up at the skateboard park…
His bag was huge with all the gear Monday morning:

So this was our first one of the summer.
We went over to the friend who lives right by the beach so it was a beach playdate.
We were a bit rusty with our packing and everything but we'll get back in the routine pretty fast I am sure… What a fun day….

We've got a good thing going

Yesterday's outfit was inspired by Polyvore combo:

I am always drawn to simple casual combinations because they suit majority of the days in my lifestyle and yet add a touch of chicness to a super casual outfit…

Purse - Thread Show
Shorts - TJ Maxx
Sneakers - Sam Edelman

SATURDAY:
We had a fun start by attending a 1 Mile Kid Run with LaDainian Tomlinson of Chargers! Which was the big draw for my son.
Made a bad decision of pairing myself up with my son and hubby with my daughter. I don't know what posessed me to think I could keep up with him. The kid is in amazing shape so of course he sprinted forward and I lost him within minutes then panicked and frantically ran all the routes (there was a 5K route and the 1 mile route and the volunteers were confused and were sending kids to the wrong direction). My hubby and daughter finished and apperantly she was able to run the whole thing and we searched for my son and found him thank goodness. Note to family, next race pick a meeting spot near the finish line. Just in case.
The kids loved the experience so I think we are ready for our first 5K very soon.
Afterwards we came home and hung around and did some projects around the house then went to my son's friend's birthday party.
At night we were all tired so got take out greek food and watched a movie together. :)

AND SUNDAY:
No major outfit was it was spent near the pool followed by a BBQ with the family all day long celebrating Father's Day.

She put on a show for her grandparents:

Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'

 Wore this Friday.

I liked the silk scarf around the neck concept.

Denim Jacket - very old
Tee - H&M
Pants - Boden USA
Slip on's - Sam Edelman CIRCUS

FRIDAY:
Got my son ready for school for his last day then my daughter and I met two friends with their daughters for breakfast at a tea house. It was my friend's idea and it was lovely. The girls didn't last too long at the tea table but were able to pretend play a few tables down while we chatted and drank cup after cup a tea.

It was close to my son's school so it was perfect as I went straight from there to pick up my son and two of his friends from half day school and brought them to our house.
My other friend showed up with her son and daughter and then the mother of one of the boys came with her daughter and pizza for lunch and I had salad and drinks and it was a great get together. My son and 3 of his best buddies and two little sisters who are same age as my daughter made the perfect swim playdate to mark the end of 1st grade and start of summer…. :)

Boys went between playing ball and swimming in the pool back and forth all afternoon long...

And the girls got along so nicely...

And at night I went to the movies with my mom and sister to see 'Blended' which was better than I had expected….
