Young at Heart

What I wore Friday night to a dinner outing for my Friend's Birthday and to see the Movie 'Girl on the Train' with my book club group as we had read the book last year...

Can you believe it one of these tassel earrings fell that night and I lost it! :(

Shirt - SheIn
Jeans - Closet
Shoes - J Crew
Purse - Coach
Sunglasses - Westward Leaning
Earrings - Baublebar

LAST FRIDAY:
What a fun outing with the girls... Thanks to my parents and skipping the kid swim team practice I carved myself an extra hour to browse some shops at the mall.
I stopped myself from buying more kids' clothes and went in to the new Amazon book store...
I absolutely love book stores. I love touching the books reading the back cover, reading the first few sentences of the first chapter...
And Amazon store has a small selection but has it organized in interesting categories, like 'classics everyone should read', 'top review', 'local authors', 'mystery fiction', 'historical fiction' and the kids books are grouped by age/reading level...
And when you buy the books they are amazon prices and they payment can be just through your amazon prime account.
Pretty cool...

The Girl on the Train movie was good. Despite the fast paced previews the movie did stay true to the book and as we remembered starts quite slow and depressing... They changed a major setting aspect though, while the book takes place in London, the movie is in NYC!

Miraculous Adventures

Saturday's outfit for taking the kids to a play and then hosting a couple over for dinner...

Inspiration from this Nordstrom 'Outfit' look:

I haven't worn this lace sweatshirt for a while so it was nice to create a new outfit with it...
And I love this skirt. It is so comfy, has pockets and never wrinkles...

 Sweatshirt - Nordstrom Rack
Skirt - Rock Republic
Purse - Coach
Booties - Steve Madden
Accessories - Michael Kors, Cookie Lee, vintage...

SATURDAY:
It was a busy day starting with Ice Skating class and Baseball game. Then we had just enough time to eat lunch and change outfits to go to the Jr. Theater to see the play adopted from the book "The Miraculous Adventures of Edward Tulane"....

After which we came home and rushed like crazy getting the house, table and dinner and appetizers ready to host my hubby's colleague and his wife over for dinner...

These things are fun and fun is good

Easter Weekend outfit #1, worn on Saturday for our local rec center egg hunt and lunch with friends followed by a concert/birthday party in the afternoon…
Now you know why I am so behind in posts….

Inspired by an ad in Bloomingdale's current catalog:

Now the dress has made its debut I am on a roll creating slightly different looks with it.
This time I belted it and added gladiator sandals and a panama hat and the red suede fringed purse for pop of color….

Dress - from Turkey (Moda)
Necklace - Cookie Lee
Bracelet set - Shop Ruche
Sandals - Victoria's Secret (4 years ago!)
Hat - from a Drug Store !!!!
Purse - Thread Show

SATURDAY:
What a crazy busy day but full of fun…
First it was rec center egg hunt followed by lunch with friends.
Then went to a very unique 6th year old birthday party at a camp site with a rock concert tribute to David Bowie. Couldn't stay for the late concert though as my daughter's tummy started hurting, probably from all the activities and the candy…

Holiday Festivo

Saturday's outfit to my father in law's holiday concert was inspired by this H&M Look:

I loved this look and the tuxedo white pants. So much that I got the pants. Paired them with my red sweater and animal print instead of golden heels…
It was a fine line to accessorize this outfit. I wanted to add pearls and gold but all of a sudden the whole outfit turned in a grandma look. So ended up with the edgy pearl and gold choker and the cuff bracelets to keep it fresh and current...

Adding the sequin tank underneath was perfect…..

Sweater - Forever 21
Tank - Charlotte Rousse
Pants - H&M
Necklace - Zara
Bracelets - Asos
Heels - Boden USA
Purse - Coach

SATURDAY:
We had a nice breakfast at a trendy diner with a line around the block with yummy bignets…

We then drove 3 hours north to my in-law's house to surprise my father in law right before he left for his holiday concert. He was so happy we had come to see him.  Drove to the concert hall with my mother in law giving ride to their neighbors and a friend.
It was cute as we were by far one of the youngest people in the crowd… :)
The concert was beautiful with a lot of Irish and Gaelic influence in to different interpretations of Holiday Classics.
I wish we had brought the kids as they would have loved to see Grandpa sing. Hopefully in spring…

Afterwards they had all their friends over for a nice dinner and lots of wine and it was so pleasant to get to know their fun group…
