Wine for a Cause

Last night's outfit to a 'wine for a cause' event at my friend's house….

I was searching for something else on ebay when I came across this skirt and the matching silk jacket on clearance since the Phillip Lim for Target craze is so over now. So may be it is worth the wait to get them at lower than retail prices… The size fits perfectly. The waist has a bit of a stretch so perfectly comfortable… I saved so many inspirations with the pieces and was excited to wear one of them.

This was the combo paired with the electric blue tux jacket. Adding the bold black and white ankle cuff sandals really made a statement. I layered my super old medallion necklace with the multi chain one….

These shoes totally stay put due to wide ankle cuff and the velcro closure allows me to adjust over my skinny ankles...

SUNDAY:
Ah, finally a morning with no plans so I slept in until 8 AM! It was heaven. Woke up and watched the 'Howl's moving castle' with the kids. What an amazing movie by the famous director Hayao Miyazaki who also did 'Ponyo' and 'My neighbor Totoro' movies the kids and I love. Would highly recommend it if you have kids…

Afterwards I made the meal plan and the grocery list for the week and cleaned up the house and we just threw on some clothes and got the grocery shopping over with. I was dreading it but if I don't do it I won't follow the nutrition plan and it will all go downhill.
We ate lunch and relaxed a bit more then got dressed and went to my friend's house for this fundraiser event.

Everyone donated 3-4 bottles of wine for an event the charity (Casa de amparo) will have later. My friend rented a jumpy so even though there were so many kids at the party it was like they weren't there as they all played for hours in the trampoline and the jumpy and we totally relaxed. What a great Sunday afternoon.

So what if we drink?

Last night's outfit was a collaboration of couple inspirations actually.

One was from Forever 21's lookbook:

The other was from a SHOPBOP look book:

The concept was the same: leather pants harem stye or skinny topped with a white top and the shaggy blush pink coat and a clutch and heels.
I could have gone with the satin jogger styles pants I have but leather felt more right for the night.
Plus I felt a silkier white top was better than a white t-shirt. And couldn't resist adding a bit of accessories. Black and white ankle cuff sandals blended with the skinny pants so nicely.

I also tried a slightly different hair style last night. Used a curling iron instead of a flat iron to create soft waves.

All my friends will confirm that this coat looks shaggy and wiry but it is actually super soft and so touchable and totally keeps you warm and I kept it on all night and it felt like a cardigan.

TUESDAY:
We skipped the outdoor class cause it was such a late night from the rehearsal the night before and it was still very cold. We took it easy and showered and got ready and went to the indoor play area for a little while then did costco shopping and came home to unload then rushed to pick up my son and came back home. I got ready to go out while my husband and dad sat down to dinner with the kids.
Met up with the girls starting with happy hour. We felt like we had so much time before our dinner reservations but time just flies with them and we even had to push it back so we had time to finish our wine. Then it was to the restaurant for a nice holiday dinner. I always leave these night with just such amazing feeling of warmth and joy. I could never imagine life without my girlfriends...

Happy Holidays with my girls!

say we're only dreaming

Tonight's inspiration was from the 'Late Afternoon' blog:
This was one of those combo's that didn't come together as cool as I thought it would. The sweater should be more fitted the shorts more fluid and the socks and shoes I felt were not the best but it was good enough as I hate changing....

TODAY:
In the morning my mom and stepdad came to take my daughter to her soccer match while my son and I went with my husband to his tennis match. My dad and aunt came there to watch too. Unfortunately he lost but it was great to watch. And the best part is after the game my parents took the kids and we had the whole day to ourselves. Went out to lunch then took a long nap and went out to dinner and a movie.
It was so relaxing....
