Work the Look

Monday's outfit was inspired by this look from Forever 21 I think:

I thought this was quite unique with all white topped with black and just a touch of pop of red with the bandana tied at the neck!

Jacket, Top - Forever 21
Jeans - Zara
Booties - Jeffrey Campbell

MONDAY:
Busy working on kids' school art show set-up, their fundraiser gala event art work for 1st grade and regular class vonlunteering. I am also shopping for accessories for our newly remodeled patio. Buying cute little garden statues here and there and placing them in the garden and then the kids have to find them everyday. :)

Glitter and Glow

Here is my New Year's Eve outfit inspired by a look from a very old Sept 2011 issue of Vogue:

This sequin dress is actually a skirt and a top set. I wore the skirt portion as part of my prom dress from high school graduation. It was a very high quality set so I kept it all these years….

Top & Bottom - From Turkey
Trench - Andrew Marc
Scarf - TJ Maxx
Necklace - Baublebar
Boots - J Crew

New Year's Eve 2014:
We had yet another fun night spending with our good friends at their house for the 4th year in a row. The kids look forward to the big sleep over the entire year….

Trench Lessons

Yesterday's outfit came out exactly like this 'Chictopia' Post:

Loved the pop of yellow jeans and the red scarf agains this black and tan base...

I layered the form fitting kika black cotton top under the sleeveless babydoll style sweater top which I have owned for over 7 years!

This hat was my Grandpa's so I love wearing it and the scarf is very old from the time when I owned a total of 5 scarves and used them for warmth not as an accessory!

Hat, scarf - Vintage
Trench - Guess
Sweater, Jeans - Forever 21
Top - Kika Paprika
Boots - Steve Madden

THURSDAY:
Started early with ballet class. I have to stay that drive is getting old very quickly. I waited in my car cause it was cold and I am trying to finish my book before our book club mtg next week.
After Ballet we rushed to my Dad's Dr. appt. Of course there were problems and they didn't have it in their books but then found it but this whole thing took couple hours which is not easy with a 4 year old but she was a trooper. My dad and I were both falling a sleep. We then went to lunch and he went home for a nap while I went home to clean-up and pack snacks and rushed out to pick up my son.

Stayed in the area by going to the library to exchange our weekly books and to finish his homework then took them to the park and he attended his tennis lesson. It is a small community so I keep running into same mom's who are just as crazy as me taking their kids from activity to activity and we start chatting without even necessarily exchanging names. Most of them younger ones like my daughter who will all start kindergarten next year so we know we'll be seeing each other for years to come.
When we got home it was dark and cold.

Funny how in summer 5 PM feels so early and how there is still so much of the day left. But in winter it feels so late. I cooked dinner while working on stupid xmas card address labels which seem to require tweaking every year.

My daughter declared it was her elf's birthday and she wanted to bake cupcakes. I convinced her to just make a card and we would buy the cupcakes tomorrow. I honestly do not have time to experiment with cupcake making at this time.
Managed to shower them and into PJs before dinner then a quick dinner and a book and to bed but half hour late so they slept in a little for a change this morning!

See what happens

This is what I wore Friday night to another Kika Paprika party at my mom's house.
I went a bit funky with the Kika clothes this time adding red tights.

THe inspiration was partially from Bee (Atlantic Pacific):

I would have preferred to pair this with one of the Kika's long coats in camel like this one. But the one I have in Camel is way too big on me and would not have looked right so went with this shorter jacket instead to add the color:

This is such a gorgeous dress by Kika. It is called 'Katherine' and just looks amazing on any body type.

I just got this red necklace and looked great with the deep Mediterranean blue...

My mom wasn't crazy about these tights under this dress, I am partial to them.

Jacket - 'Addie' by Kika Paprika in Camel
Dress - 'Katherin'e by Kika Paprika in Azure
Scarf - 'Triangle Scarf' by Kika Paprika in Poppy

Nude Heels - Steve Madden

FRIDAY NIGHT:
The Kika Party at my mom's was a lot of fun this week. It was all her close friends whom I have known for years and a work friend. They were so much fun trying on clothes and having a good time which is what I really enjoy. Couple have been in sales for years and one is in direct sales so got a lot of advice as well. Majority want to host a party for me too so what more can I ask for? Mom as a result got 2 more items at half price plus $25 credit so she was very happy to be progressing in her collection accumulation of the Kika clothes.
