Girls with Attitude

This was my outfit last night to a dinner with my girls. Funny how we had to book our holiday dinner 2 months in advance to find a night that worked for all of us and it took 18 hours to get all of us together last night! Sometimes it just works...

And so did this outfit. I think so anyway. The inspiration came from Lucky's December 2011 issue.
I have about 3 other combinations to wear this amazing tunic dress from Romwe but I guess this most recent creation made it first.
This top is just so unique which is why I had fallen in love with it when I saw it on their website. Here I am wearing it backwards so I have the high neck part in the front to wear necklaces....

Paired 3 necklaces on top and one of them is half front and half in the back!

Adding the pop of neon with the clutch was another great idea from the inspiration photo...

The top is actually quite longer so I added a belt to pull it up a bit. The multi glitter belt was so cute...

These faux leather leggings are new. I finally found a pair within my price range when I gave up on waiting for Forever 21 to bring them again. I ordered them of course since I rarely have time to go to the mall let alone search for an item at the mall.
My Dad took all these photos. He had stopped by after work. He is a great photographer!

LAST NIGHT:
Went out to dinner at a restaurant participating in restaurant week with a $20 prefix menu. It is always a great excuse to get together. I missed all the arrangements of course since my internet was down last night, so wasn't sure if I would be able to make it but my husband was nice enough to make it home in time so I can leave. The conversation flowed as it always does and 3 hours just flew by as we laughed and laughed.
Such a rejuvenating experience to hang with good friends. Absolutely priceless!

From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere!

This was my outfit today during the day.
P.S. My title is from One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss,

The inspiration came from the November 2011 issue of In Style magazine from a small photo of SJP in an article about finding the perfect corduroy pants:

When I saw this photo I immediately thought of my super old blue boot cut cords. They were already moved to my husband's closet (yes I now officially have clothes in everyone else's closet in the house!). Since I own and have only been wearing skinny cords these were temporarily retired.
But I loved how her pants look like boot cuts cuffed as well. So that gave me the idea. Plus knowing the temp would be high today wearing a tank top (in the middle of winter) was a perfect choice...

And with the hat off, cause you know you want to see my new hair everyday! :)

Cardigan - Banana Republic (thrifted)
Tank - Alloy's
Scarf - Forever 21
Cords - Guess (I think, I am too lazy to go look now)
Hat - Jessica Simpson (from TJ Maxx)
Boots - Newport News

TODAY:
It was the first day of outdoor class and we had a super cool field trip to Quail Botanical Gardens. I forget how beautiful this place is and how much there is to do. Kids loved playing in the man made huge tree house, admiring the huge iron artwork and then taking a nature hike through the waterfalls, bamboo forests and the frog pond ending in another fun play area.

Once in a BLUE moon

My outfit yesterday (Monday). In addition to being behind posts our cable started acting out and we lost internet connection last night! I hope I catch up on my posts soon.

The inspiration came from JCrew's September catalog....
Any excuse to use my turquoise heels! And old suit jackets!

Blouse - J Crew
Pants, Necklace, Socks - Forever 21

MONDAY:
Went to my dad's to celebrate new Year's and he gave his gifts for us and the kids... They had a great time playing with the new toys/games and their cousin...
