Missoni Stripes

Today's outfit was inpsired by the lovely and amazing Bee from Atlantic Pacific. I truly enjoy looking at her blog like looking through a fashion magazine and enjoy the fame she is developing all over the fashion industry...

Her dress is genuine Missoni and mine so much reminds me of it. It is not even mine actually, but my mother's.
I remembered the fit and length of this dress less tight and longer and felt it was a bit too short for workplace. The neckline was also quite low but the good thing is the fringe scarf covers all that so I was able to pull it down as much as possible.

I would have never thought to pair this white and black but Bee's combination was very inspiring...
I probably could have worn these heels but I plan to wear them on Thursday for sure so switched to flats instead today to ensure I keep my feet blister free until then.
Here you can get a glimpse of my hotel room...

I haven't shown this much leg in a while.
If I was home I would have layered much more accessories but this was all I packed without trying the outfit on prior to packing.

TODAY:
Another long almost 12 hour workday again today. I have promised myself to go to bed early so I can catch up. After work we decided to take a break from Mexican food and went to a steak restaurant instead but ordered it take-out. My first time getting steak as take-out! Enjoyed a glass of wine at the bar while waiting for the food which should help me get to sleep early tonight.
After a relaxing shower I have applied moisture face and eye mask plus changed my nail polish. Feel pretty good. Funny how without kids and family how dull life can be and how I have nothing to write about! Since the kiddos went out dinner with the family they didn't have time to skype but we did speak on the phone. They are harder to understand on the phone but some sort of tractor legos were mentioned a lot. :)

Rise and Shine

Week 2, Day 1 at work in San Antanio. As you can see starting the day quite early before the sun is up!
These shiny satin pants are from Turkey. They have a nice classic fit that is timeless. Paired them with the slightly sequin tee and a khaki jacket. The necklace added a lot of bling and edge all at the same time. And definitely does not show its F21 prices.

By the way when I got back to the hotel and took off this necklace all those rings and spikes splattered everywhere. Apparently they can just come off! Lesson learned!

I love this ring. It was my mom's of course and I loved and she let me somewhat barrow it on a permenant basis. Even had to add wiring to the ring so it fits.

Some other cooler high heel shoes or booties would have looked sooo much better but I have learned my lesson and have the blisters to show it so stayed with flats. Thought these lizard skin sandals would still look cool enough. Although within the week I might attempt to wear heels again. I have been minimizing the meetings I go to which minimizes the amount of walking.

Jacket - gap (thrifted)
Tee - J Crew
Pants - from Turkey
Sandals - Victoria's Secret
Necklace - Forever 21

TODAY:
Nothing blog worthy to write today other than the fact that I worked 12 hours straight. Nibbled on the steak salad with no real appetite. Enjoying a cup of decaf tea right now although my cup smells funny so that is bothering me. What is bothering me the most is that I killed a huge cockroach in my room when I came in. Eeew and yuck! I sooo hate cockroaches. Now I am freaked out and am constantly looking at the floor when I walk.

Stripes to go

On the road again but I got to wear this all day today not just on the trip back to San Antonio.

I seem to prefer these boyfriend style jeans for the plane rides cause they are loose and comfy.

Wore a skirt suit blazer but then decided to wear a cardigan in the plane for practicality.

Jacket - Tahari
Tee - From Turkey
Jeans - Newport News
Sandals - Boutique 9

TODAY:
My husband decided to skip tennis so we can spend the morning together before I take off again for my business trip. We called up my dad who was also skipping tennis and together went to the zoo. All weekend long I have been trying to get more hugs and kisses from the kids and I can tell they hug and kiss more as well. I felt like a visitor at home this weekend. I was only there for 2 nights and a day and a half so just tried to make most of my time by spending quality with the kids and family.
It was so hard to leave again. I wasn't as panicked about packing though cause I only unpacked the clothes and nothing else. I also made my list of outfits on the plane ride home and didn't bother trying them on so lets see how this week goes.
I was also more at ease this time around on the light. You see, consulting can be very different than a permanent job. At the beginning of a new gig you never know what you are going to get exactly, whether you will be able to truly help or not. There was also the anxiety of being a in a foreign city, a new company and meeting a whole set of new people. But this week I know exactly what I am going to and even though I dislike this hotel just knowing what to expect made me feel less anxious. I am determined to finish my book on this trip so I can stop carrying around the huge hardcover book. I even brought a back up book in case it finishes early. I love being able to read again. I even read when standing in line to board the plane, then on the runway then waiting to de-board, waiting for the luggage. All down time I take advantage by reading and removing myself to a whole other world then where I am. I love that ability books have on the readers.
I should go to bed so I can get as much res as I can for another crazy week I am sure.
