You are my sunshine

So, this is the actual I ended up with today. Needed the cardigan and covered legs as opposed to the prior outfit.

The inspiration was from Carrie Fabulous Blog which I love to follow:
I liked her all black and grey outfit that also looked casual chic which usually suits my lifestyle perfectly.
To be a tad different though I decided to add my new suede fringed purse in RED!

I gave my little man  permission to come pose with me and he decided to add some dance moves...
Cardigan, Boots - Forever 21
Denim Leggings - Kohl's
Trapeze tank top - Marshall's
Necklaces - Forever 21 & one other site but I can't remember now
Purse - Haven Boutique (from Thread Show)

I know I post more photos of my daughter cause she is usually very willing to pose for me. But this time I was on my bedroom balcony where my daughter is not allowed due to too much space between the railing posts so my son was having fun with me this time...

TODAY:
Met up with my mom and took my son to the Turkish School. The first half we went to starbucks with my girl and had a 'just girls coffee break'. The second half of the school I asked the teacher if they would let my daughter in and she was ecstatic. So I am hoping they might allow her next term. The entry age is 4 and she will turn 3 in February but she is pretty good in class so hopefully. I also wish the school was every week instead of every other. It does have a positive influence on my son encouraging him to embrace his heritage and be proud of speaking two languages.
Mom hung out with us in the afternoon as well and we discussed upcoming business strategies so I am very excited about it.
At night after the kids went to bed I was putting away laundry and all of sudden started 'cleansing' my closet. I tend to do this every few months or so and it is a great practice. Even if you don't eliminate anything it is a great refresher to remember what you have and also re folding the clothes makes the shelves all nice and neat. I was able to eliminate at least one large bag of clothes to donate and half a bin of clothes I decided to save for my daughter. Which was such a strange feeling but it is only a matter of time I am sure where she will be fishing into my closet like I do to my mom's. And that feeling just made me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy inside. So, I kept all my brand name way too tight and crop on me tee's and blouses for her. I am sure by the time she is 12-13 they will be just fine for her.

Kiss the Frog

This was the first outfit I wore today. The inspiration was from Lucky Magazine's Nov 2011 Issue:
I liked the little details in this outfit like the fringe necklace over green top and a neon purse.

This necklace was such an amazing purchase and bargain (for $10) from Bebe...

This was a J Crew clearance purchase. I liked the neon floral pattern with a pin tucked style on the pencil skirt...

The neon purse that sure is getting a lot of use...

My super old booties....

Top, socks - Forever 21
Skirt - J Crew
Necklace - Bebe
Booties - Steve Madden
Sunglasses - House of Harlow

When I put it on and started taking these photos though I realized how chilly it was and immediately changed to my outfit choice #2 for today and ended up wearing that all day. That post will follow shortly....

Pocahontas

Today's outfit was inspired by the lovely Bee of Atlantic Pacific:

I figured I could create this with my mom's suede jacket and my mustard dress and the combination came out pretty good. I love the idea of adding this knit vest underneath so it peaks out and adds color. Except I got a lot of comments on my mom's fringed suede jacket. My son was first to say 'it looks like an Indian costume' followed by 'Pocahontas' from my husband and cousin!
The fringes are definitely not practical when serving birthday cake to a group of kids I later found out.

I added the white purse and off white sunglasses for a bit of light color...

Even the back has fringes...

I tried so many different necklaces with this outfit. Almost went with this all cream bib necklace but then switched back to this street vendor purchase in Turkey.

 Jacket - Mom's

TODAY:
We had a rough night the night before so our plans for going out to breakfast did not happen. We spent the whole morning at home lounging then gave the kids a late morning bath and forced them to take early naps. So we could go to my son's friend's b-day party at 1:30 PM. Even though we woke up my daughter we were still an hour late and most of the fun activities were already over with but had a bit of fun for a little while before going to dinner at my mom and Step Dad's house with the family.
The party was at a State Park by the Lake!

Check out this duck with fur on his head like a hat!
