Show Stoppers

Monday night's outfit going out with the girls was inspired by Bee from Atlantic Pacific:

I absolutely adore this silk prada maxi skirt I bought in a thrift shop and always look for different ways to wear it. With a tight blank tank and white stilettos it worked out great. I added pops of hot pink too….

Top - Ann Taylor
Skirt - Prada (thrifted from My Sister's Closet)
Heels - Nine West
Scarf - Kika Paprika
Clutch - Asos
Necklace - Bauble Bar
Earrings - Forever 21

MONDAY:
We have a major heat wave going on here so not much dressing during the day. In fact I wear workout clothes so I can throw everything into wash every day. Kids have had half days due to heat and they eat all their snacks indoors and the teachers do not let them run around outside.
Don't have much time during the day with half days so pick them up and have them swim at home and stay cool.
I managed to put on an outfit after a cold shower to go out with the girls Monday night.
It was one of those amazing events hosted by Lincoln that somehow my friend is on the mailing list. So 6 of us got in. First they drive you around a luxury lincoln of your choice just around couple blocks while they tell you the features of the car. Then you fill out a survey and get a wrist band. After that you are free to enjoy a full 3 course meal with 2 free drinks which include wine or beer or from a menu of signature cocktails at a very nice restaurant in which case this was 'Prep Kitchen'. None of could believe  how this whole thing was comp'd but we enjoyed every minute and every bite. :)

See the light

Today's combo was inspired by a look on Nordstrom's Website:

This just gave me the idea of pairing my white stilettos with the Peter Pilotto sweatshirt. Came out pretty nice I think...

I was trying to post without sunglasses but it was just a tad too light so looks like I am frowning in most of the photos...

Sweatshirt - Peter Pilotto for Target
Jeans - H&M
Heels - Nine West (thrifted)

TODAY:
Got up early and did the ab workout of the 'Brazilian Butt Lift' program. The ab workout was not as bad as the butt one thank goodness. Showered and got dressed and had a nice breakfast and did some legos with my princess. Then we went to Nordstrom Rack to pick up my hubby's pants from alteration and do a return. Then to Target to find a long sleeve top for my son to wear under his baseball jersey but of course it is summer and they did not have a single top that was long sleeve. Found a 3/4 sleeve but bigger than his size so lets see how it is going to work out.
He has 4 games this weekend and if they win more games on Monday. That is going to be more Baseball than I have watched in my entire life!
He is so excited though to be all star that makes us all excited.
After our errands we picked up my son and then went to swim practice in the afternoon.
I showered and got him dressed and dropped him off at his playdate with 3 of his buddies watching a movie. He was so looking forward to it.

Rogue

This sleek yet fun combo was inspired by Bazaar's March 2012 issue!

It was this tiny photo in a bigger page of their how to dress in all ages... I realize the inspiration I chose was from the 60s age range but the models in these segments are always young so whatever. :)
The idea of wearing a popping floral top under a white jacket and black pants appealed to me...

After a relaxing facial (for only $25) at Aveeda's Institute in Portland. The student that gave me the facial had just turned 21 last week! Not sure who was giving more advice on how to keep your skin young her to me or I to her. :)

The ring I acquired from the Rose Garden's gift shop earlier that day... Isn't it so adorable and it totally matched my outfit this night and the next day too!

White Blazer - Forever 21
Top - Versace (YES, really!)
Coated Jeans - Forever 21
Cluch - Asos
Heels - Nine West

SATURDAY NIGHT in PORTLAND:
While we were waiting for the trimet train after our hike at the washington park we were thinking how fun it would be if we all could get treatments done at the Aveeda instutitede. We thought it was a total fantasy as it was Saturday and the chances of booking 4 of us at the same time with couple hours notice was very slim. But amazingly they had room so we went back to the hotel and showered and changed but put no make-up on and went to the institute.  Which turned to be a 10 block walk btw.
The treatments were fun. Given that they were students we all had different experiences. But for the money we paid it was great... My friend got an extreme hair cut and it was super cool. For only $15 too!

We then started our brewery/pub crawl tasting the many famous brews of Portland and Oregon. I am not a beer drinker at all but wanted to taste the brews. My friend and I split the flights but even that was quite filling. We only visited 3 then had to take a break and went dancing instead... Very fun night.

And here are some photos that were on my compact camera from our first day at Portland in search of this food truck called the 'big ass sandwich'.....

What a nice area right??? Above scene of shuttered car window glass was spotted every few yards or so. Obviously not the best area to leave your car and probably not the best area for two girls to be walking...
