Busy Bee

What I wore last Friday to work...

Inspired by Boden's Fall 2013 catalog:

I like the addition of the red purse but I am carrying a bulky laptop case so no room for a decorative purse...

Sweater, Pants - Forever 21
Flats - TJ Maxx
Sunglasses - Gucci

LAST FRIDAY:
Since I started working I spent every spare minute I have getting ready for something upcoming. Like cooking the next night's dinner or preparing food to take to work or laundry or shower and for this week it was packing for the upcoming weekend trip. I had to pack wednesday night for the Friday night trip as I had book club Thursday night.
On Friday I asked a friend to pick up my daughter to bring her home and sent my son with another friend to be taken to his baseball practice and picked up by his dad from there. Even for this I had to plan the day before leaving his huge baseball bag and uniform with the mom who will have him.
It takes extremely detailed planning to make it all work.
So Friday, I came straight home from work and showered and changed and loaded the car and packed the cooler just in time for my daughter to get home and showered and changed her and went and picked up our friends for carpool...

More on that to follow...

Beehive

Tuesday's outfit… Inspiration from Boden Catalog:

I just swapped the polka dots for the top and the yellow for the bottoms. And added red booties for pop of color. The top is actually a v-neck cardigan I am wearing backwards….

 Top, Pants - Forever 21
Jacket - Vince
Booties - Shoedazzle
Sunglasses - Wild Fox

TUESDAY:
Skipped the outdoor class as I have so little time to get things done before our next vacation. Tough life I know. :)
Cleaned up a few emails in the morning and lined up the stuff I need to run all sorts of errands and loaded up the car.
Started with Nordstrom Rack to exchange the stuff I got for my husband that did not fit.
Got done quicker than we thought so found a Chase bank near there and took care of the money order I needed to send to the consulate.
Then went to my mammogram appointment which they gave me hell for brining my daughter but somehow made it happen and got it done with. I was just super annoyed with one of the ladies who went as far as to say that if my daughter walked out she would just let her because she couldn't take on the responsibility. Even her colleagues were appalled and embarrassed for her.
After that we actually had enough time to hit the post office to mail packages then to the grocery store for a very quick shopping trip to get enough food for the next two days.
Then picked up my son and came home. While the kids played and did their own thing I went through the outfits I plan to pack for our Hawaii vacation. I tried on the outfits I would wear at nights and made sure each piece was used in two outfits with minimal number of shoes.
The day outfits I just laid out simple short top combinations.
Then decided to go big and packed a different swim suit for everyday and two cover-up's!

Here they are all laid out:

Live by the sun

This yellow and black combo was inspired by a new blog I had visited a few months ago called

I liked the simple color combo with pop of red on the purse and the gold metallic heels….

For my crazy days with the kids though I couldn't pull of those wedges… For an indoor class for example I could wear them but not for an outdoor class with far away bathrooms etc…

Necklace, rings - Bauble Bar
Sweater - Lithon (Nordstrom's)
White Top - Topshop
Pants - J Crew
Wedges - Dolce Vita for Target
Flats - Dolce Vita
Bracelets - C Wonder

TUESDAY:
Helped out a friend in the morning who had a Dr appointment by dropping off her kid at her preschool which is very close to my son's school. Then went to the outdoor class with my daughter. The weather was gorgeous and the park was right on the bay so very uplifting.
Afterwards we went to the indoor play area so I can catch up on stuff and also book my hotel for our upcoming trip to Boston… We then picked up my son and came home for homework and dinner. Since we are doing the nutrition I don't only cook dinner at night but also try to prepare lunches and snacks for the next day so it takes quite  long time and creates lots of dishes to clean up after… At least the kids are totally digging the healthy dinners. Grilled Halibut tacos, roasted new potatoes with baked chicken etc…
And then after they go to bed we do our workout. Tuesday night was Speed!

Today's combo was inspired by this photo from May 2013 of In Style but as you can see the inspiration has a lot more color and looking at the photos I look to pale in my combo... Oh well...

YESTERDAY:
We had a pool party entertaining friends from out town with their 3 kids plus my friend and her 3 kids and added my nephew to the mix cause felt like we didn't have enough kids (just kidding).
It was fun though, the weather turned sunny and the pool was heated the kids had a blast.
After BBQ lunch and delivery pizza dinner and everyone left I got ready for my evening party which was hosting my book club to watch "Emma" after we finished Jane Austen's masterpiece.
There was a lot of talking and laughing and some movie watching...

Book Club movie viewing at night....

TODAY:
Today was our second summer playdate of the summer and the week. We met at a park strictly to persuade the kids to ride their bikes. Some of us have kids that are on 2 wheel bikes riding great but then some of us can't even get our kids on a bike (myself included in the latter group) So we decided every week this summer we'll meet at a different park and all of us will bring the kids bikes and have them ride it at least for a little while. Well today was the first time we tried and it worked like magic. Even the kids that would refuse were loving it and did multiple loops without encouragement. My daughter's bike feels a bit big for her ability so I had to hold her the entire time but got her to do two laps. Both kids fell at least once but were back up on their fit after some hugs and kisses.
The boys played heartily with their light sabers creating interesting games and the girls were playing some sort of dance/ballet class game. It was fun.

My son in the front with his light saber stuck in his pants!
Big and small they are all on wheels!

Ah the hair is finally growing just a little after her horrific self cut. I can't wait till the sides and the front grows out....
