As the leaves turn

Today's outfit was inspired by an inspiration photo in the shoedazzle website….
I needed a cozy outfit that is in layers for another crazy day and this was perfect….

The thick knit infiniti scarf is a bit hard to wear but definitely looks cool with all that bulk. And warm.

I invested the repair money in these boots last winter and got the heels re-furbished and the whole boot polished and look how they look brand-new even after 15 years of very frequent wear!

TODAY:
Dropped off my daughter at my mom's and went to my Dr. appointment. My son's school had a picnic today for their grade unfortunately he still had after school chess so if didn't go I would have a solid couple hours but when I mentioned I might not come he said 'please mommy really try to come' and I knew I had to go. So I did. He never stopped hugging me which was so sweet. They had an interesting assortment of foods. Lots of mashed potatoes hardly any Turkey but kids didn't care.

The school has an area that is so unlike San Diego and has this total real fall vibe. It was perfect….

Then a few of the boys started to play tag and were having so much fun...

After this picnic he went to Chess and I had a little bit of a time. My phone battery was dead so I ended up driving home and then went back to pick him up. Took him to the park but none of his friends were there so played ball with him in heels! And managed to place more phone calls following up on the never ending identity theft situation.
Then it was to get some snack and run to his swim practice. My parents meet us there so they can bring my daughter and watch him swim. He works so hard it is such a joy to watch.
We came home and they continued playing while I cooked dinner and my dad and cousin came over to hang out and have dinner with us. I guess if we you compare today to Monday and Tuesday it was better.

Story of my life

Yesterday's outfit was inspired by this Chictopia post:

I thought this looked so similar to my jacket and mixing with red shoes was a great idea. I had to stay realistic with a lower heeled booties though...

TUESDAY:
This week has been brutal and we are just starting it. Today was another 'no room to breathe' kind of schedule day. We had to skip our outdoor class once again as we had a Dr appt for my daughter. The office is right next to children's hospital which has a huge McDonalds with at fun statue garden play area etc… So she insisted on food and we had to sit for a while so all that took longer than I expected. Then we stopped at home for 10 minutes to clean-up etc then went to pick up my son (half day again) and parked this time so we can all go to his school book fair and they picked out 2 books each. Then we stopped at home again just in time for me to get my lunch then it was to my Dr appt attempt #2 but this time they saw me right away and we were out of there pretty quickly. Back to my son's school to meet my husband there so he can entertain the kids while I had a Parent Teacher Conference with the teacher. It was all good. He is advanced in reading and extremely advanced in Math and reasoning skills. He is super fast at everything. Areas he is just proficient and could work on are writing (he is so sloppy) and re-tell, which is the ability to summarize what he has read. She also told me he did his presentation without using his paper and was amazing at it. I was so proud.
After that we came home. Showered the kids and put cozy clothes on and went to my friend's house for a quick dinner and a chance for us to catch-up and give her son's b-day gift etc…
I was supposed to work out but I just didn't have it in me last night and now feel so blah for not sticking with it.

What I Forgot

Today's combo was inspired by this Chictopia post:
I love this slouchy pants with relaxed top, leather jacket and an animal print cardi that peeks out.  And of course the hat…
I had to dig through kids closets to find these old slacks to get the vibe...

TODAY:
OMG today was insane. We went to my daughter's pre-school but before hand stopped at Target to get her a new car seat. She had outgrown her existing one for months now and we have been dragging getting a new booster seat. So just did it this morning.
After class rushed to my son's school since he gets out early all this week for parent teacher conference meetings. Then went to costco for grocery shopping, came back home to unload it all. Rushed to my Dr's but after waiting for an hour and realizing we will still have to wait had to re-schedule and leave so we can make it to my son's swim team practice. Now I have to go back to the Dr's again tomorrow. What a waste of time.
When we came home I had an hour to cook dinner and get ready and hosted 8 friends for our book club meeting.
It was a great meeting. We just finished 'What Alice Forgot' by Liane Moriarty:

It was an absolutely amazing book. The best I feel we have read so far. Totally self reflecting and brilliant writing as the story is told from 1st person but different woman's point of view. Thick book with small font but a super fast read. It is not a suspense book but you can't seem to put it down. I would highly recommend it.

And the new book we picked for next month is, 'The light Between Oceans' by M.L. Stedman:

I love our book club. The ladies and the discussion is always so enlightening and entertaining.
