Hey Bartender

Saturday night's inspiration was this pinterest photo:
I liked the idea of booties under the pleated skirt… Added a corset belt to my outfit to synch the waist...

Top - J Crew Factory
Skirt - Forever 21
Booties - Betsey Johnson
Purse - Chloe

Fun Saturday night with the girls…
Met up with my two friends first for dinner then met the others at a wine bar and ended at a dive bar until closing time!

I see your true colors Shining through

Today's fun combo was inspired by Fashion Diva Design:

I went with gladiator sandals instead….

Denim Jacket - Vintage
Tank Top, Necklace, Belt - Forever 21
Skirt - Kika Paprika
Sandals - Victoria's Secret
Sunglasses - CRAP Eyewear

TODAY:
I still don't feel 100% but trudging on anyway…
Went to my daughter's pre-school which we have been off for a while now cause our teacher's daughter just graduated Yale. It was nice seeing everyone.
Then came home and instead of resting got into this closet organizing and had to stop myself for lunch and go get my son from school. When we got home finished organizing my daughter's closet than attacked the entry level table and found all sorts of sunglasses and lip glosses I have been missing.
Kids with the excuse of trying to get a pool out of the water ended up going in with half their clothes on which was silly. Took them out just to dry and put on other swim suits to take them to swim practice/class. Finally at home my mom came to take my daughter so she can take her to ballet tomorrow while I go with my son to his last field trip to the Children's Museum. He is so happy I am coming.

Salud

I am so pleasantly surprised on how cute today's combo came together. I love it when an inspiration actually pans out better than I expected.

The inspiration photo:
When I saw this I thought of the deep shades of purple and bordeaux mixed with black and brown. And the hat!

I tucked in the cognac striped sweater. My instinct was to add black tights and boots but the brown actually goes great and the belt pulls it all together.
I have officially decided to keep this skirt (by kikaPaprika)  from my samples. Where else am I going to find a perfectly fitting full skirt that has a tailored look and yet machine washable and no ironing needed!

This hat was my Grandpa (rest his soul) and I love wearing it....

Hat - Vintage
Sweater - Forever 21
Skirt - kika Paprika ('Brit')
Boots - Newport News
Belt - I do not remember as it is very old.
Necklace - Cookie Lee
Coat - Ann Klein

TODAY:
Went to see a play with my daughter's class. It was an odd story called the 'stinky cheese man' apparently a book where they change the happy ending of every fairy tale or children's riddle. The kids were more confused than entertained so it was a bit of a miss I think.
The cool thing is it is a Jr. Theater so all the actors are high school age kids or younger which sets a great example to the kids seeing other kids on stage.

Tonight going to mommy's night event through the organization that helps form mommy groups.

One Day More

This interesting combo I wore on Friday was inspired by the October 2012 issue of Lucky Magazine:
This wasn't easy to create. I switched the ruffles with a faux fur collar of the vest. I double belted to create that super large belt look. I initially tried with my burgundy t-strap heels but it just didn't look right. These chunky Dr. Marten looking boots looked better somehow...

Vest, Necklace, Bracelet - LOFT
Shirt - H&M
Leather Leggings - Macy's
Belts - from Turkey
Boots - Target

FRIDAY:
Babysat the friend's son again took him to my daughter's class with us. They did a mini New Year's day parade around the building which was cute.
In the afternoon met my friend with the kids at the mall. Now that it gets dark so soon the kids were so weirded out about being outside in the dark. They had this funky fearful look on their faces but the mall was full of people and music playing so it was OK. We had dinner and my husband met us there to have dinner and then take the kids home and I stayed with my friend to finally see Les Miz. It was great. Definitely slow and lots of singing but it is one of my favorite soundtracks and there were some great acting too....
