A Day at the Fair

What I wore on Thursday as I worked from home in the morning and took the kids to our state fair with a group of friends as it is our tradition every year...

Inspiration from Pinterest:

Even though it is a full day of walking I like to still pick an outfit that has character for our annual day at the fair...
The cotton dress with the 'carwash' trim was easy and comfortable to wear all day and move in. The sandals worked fine too.. Hat is usually a necessity and the light shirt was perfect when it was a bit chilly...

Hat - Farmer's Market in La Jolla
Dress - from a Street Bazaar in Turkey
Shirt - Gap
Sandals - Isabella Rocha
Sunglasses - Karen Walker

DAY AT THE FAIR:
This year since I had to work and the kids had camp we went in the afternoon. It was almost a 40 minute wait to get on the shuttle bus from a nearby high school lot. But we had met up there so we killed time by catching up...

Here are the girls climbing the tree by the line we were waiting in:
My daughter is the one in the fedora with the sunglasses.

We were quite a group in the shuttle bus (school bus) and got lots of stares and comments. 10 kids plus 5 moms!

The adults all had group on tickets to enter the fair and the kids had printed their reading log to get in for free...

Then we hit the classic fair (junk) food for snacks and got the kids their unlimited ride wristbands and hit the ride area for hours of walking around and waiting in lines and watching them ride...

Ended the looong day with more food, going through the animal exhibition and ICEE's to go...

Mad about the Fair

My outfit for a whole day of Fair and Baseball...

After I struggled couple weeks ago to create outfits with these crochet shorts which I love I dove into pinterest for an array of inspirations... One was this:

There were also many with denim shirts so I kind of combined the ideas... I could have done my black booties but where I was going would have ruined them so I were these rugged boots instead...

Denim Shirt - From Turkey
Hat - From a drugstore!
Top - Marshall's
Shorts - Topshop
Necklace - Forever 21
Sunglasses - From LA
Boots - Steve Madden

Dressed my little fashionista in similar crochet shorts, denim shirt and a fedora...

This little girl had no fear at the Fair. She and her best friends (who are twins) got on any ride they were tall enough to ride... While other kids were grinding their teeth they were screaming with laughter...
Got to love them...

While my son stayed away from most of these rides and counted the minutes till we can leave to drive to his baseball tournament...

A Fair to Remember

Wednesday's boho outfit was inspired by this Nordstrom Look:

I had a lighter colored kimono top but it wasn't as long as this one and I liked how this longer one looked. Paired with the hat and fringed suede booties created a very boho look. And Since my kimono wrap was darker color I went with a navy tank instead of a white one…

I had absolutely no time to change when we came from our day time event and before I went out for may plans that evening. The good thing is where we were going was casual so the outfit worked and here I am at night in the same get-up. Hat and all… Actually got comment on my hat when I was walking on the street. :)

Hat - Sole Society
Tank - Kika Paprika
Kimono - Forever 21
Jean Shorts - TJ Maxx
Boots - Mia
Purse - Thread Show
Necklace - H&M

WEDNESDAY:
Well it is the start of summer. I help organize two playdates groups where we fill out the summer calendar with fun events so we don't wake up every morning and wonder what we should do. Our local fair is going on so before our trip we decided to do a big playdate together. It is always a fun but very tiring day. And now our kids are older so we had to go to two different ride areas and half the kids were alreays a bit upset cause they weren't tall enough to ride etc… The youngest was so cute at one of the rides when he got rejected he came crying and said 'I don't have enough inches'!!
At the end I barely made it home in time to wash up two very dirty children and took my daughter to my mom's while my husband came to take my son to his tennis lesson…

Cotton Candy Madness...

And at night met my girlfriends to take my best friend out for her birthday. She picked 3 very cool foodie type places well actually the first one was a bar that specializes only on whiskey which is her favorite…
Everything walking distance we had a fun night…
