Pop Art

Today's bright combo was from Feb 2014 catalog of J Crew:

Sunglasses, Tee - Forever 21
Skirt - Peter Pilotto for Target
Jean Jacket - H&M
Sandals - Dolce Vita

TODAY:
It was class photo day at my daughter's preschool so we were both dressed in bright spring colors.
The photos do not do justice to my daughter though. The color is just so amazing on her in real life.

Left the class early so I can drop off my daughter at my mom's house and rush to my nail appointment.
It was a total bliss getting my nails done with no kids. I love getting all pampered and beautified before the big trip. Tomorrow is the fake tan!
I came home to do some house work than picked up my son from his after school playdate.
My mom came so we could take both kids to swim class. I keep forgetting to take my camera but I really need to photograph my little girl in her swimmer's cap and goggles and speedo swim suit. She is just so beyond excited about taking swim classes again.
Then my mom insisted on taking her a day early. It will be nice having the free time but I will miss her. It is always bittersweet when they are gone.

Here are my new french tips and rainbow toes:

TODAY:
The week is coming to an end and so am I. Without my husband this week it has been tough mornings and evenings. This morning was tough as well but we managed to get out and get my son to school in time. Then we were off to my daughter's ballet class. Since we arrived so early, I had time stroll with her and show her the lilly pads and the koi pond. She loved it.
After her class we came to the library for story time and craft and checking in out books for the week.
Due to library the kids read approx 2-3 new books every day. During our parenting class they thought us we should always read to our kids at one level below their reading/comprehension level to expand their knowledge of vocabulary and topics which is what I target.  I keep 1-2 new books in the car too everyday so when we are waiting to pick up my son I can read to my daughter or during my daughter's soccer I can read to my son. I hope they adopt this habit when they are older. That to pass time you can always read. No ipads, iphones, dvd players or video games. Just good old fashion paper book. Now when ever we are waiting somewhere my daughter asks if I have a book with me.

After the library we rushed home to work on my daughter's pre-school art project and to meet the repair guy for the microwave and the oven. Thank goodness it was a fuse issue which still cost but not nearly as much as our other appliance malfunctions. And they are now working yeay!
I made snacks and packed all the gear we need and we headed to pick up my son then met a friend at the park for a playdate and to catch-up since the kids are in different school. They go to a private school so I am anxious to compare our curriculum to theirs.
The kids just got dirtier and dirtier there and we headed to soccer practice while I did homework with my son. You can imagine we were all exhausted and our dinner plans turned out to be a big mistake by hitting traffic so it was a late night but we managed.
I did miss out on a cool fashion event tonight but I made the responsible decision and turned down my mom's generous offer to not go herself and to babysit. Weeknights are just too hectic.

Change of Pace

Today's combo came out pretty cute in my opinion. You never know with these risky combo's sometimes they look great sometimes not so much.

This inspiration was saved very long ago from this online store 'Make Me Chic' website lookbook:
Of course I haven't bought any of these items but I owned very similar pieces to create the combo...

I double wrapped the infiniti scarf to create the cape effect...

Saw this 'evil eye' nail design from ElleSees blog and adopted it right away. My base blue was a little darker but at least I had all the colors at home already. Some evil eyes have yellow in them too. I might try that next...

Hat - was a gift from my mom to my sister and she felt it was too big for her.
Cape - Infiniti scarf from Costco of all places!
Top - Gap
Short - Forever 21
Tights - We love color
Boots - Forever 21

TODAY:
Instead of regular class today we had family PJ night in class in the evening. So we had a free day with my daughter went to Nordstrom rack for xmas shopping. After couple hours treated her to burgers and fries at a diner in the mall and ordered here a 'pink' shake! She had to stand to drink from it!

Then in the evening we picked up a pizza pie and went to the indoor class so kids can have dinner then put on their PJs and listen to stories and watch movies with their friends on pillows and blankets.
My brother and nephew joined us as well...
