You are my sunshine

I am super behind now in posts with this crazy weekend celebrating three family birthday and a preschool graduation….

This was my outfit Friday. Inspired by Modlychic:
I just love combining these colors and I had such similar items…

FRIDAY:
In the morning took my son to school (usually my hubby does) so we can watch his 1st grade sing during flag ceremony…

Then went to my daughter's pre-school. Only a few days left of school and I get so nostalgic just thinking about it. We prepared for the graduation and talent show for Saturday. Then ordered pizza for my son's birthday party, then ordered his cake. Since I was at the grocery store to order his cake I also did half the shopping for his party and my father in law's birthday dinner that will take place all in the same day! Went home for lunch and picked him up for school.
The weather has been warm so the kids swim now every afternoon but MWF they also have swim so I have to get them out of the pool dry them off and put dry swim suit to take them!
After swim practice brought them home to shower and get dressed and left when my husband came over to meet my mom and sister. It was my mom's actual birthday night. We had sushi dinner then went to the movies to see Malifecent together….

Missed Connections

Tonight's outfit for a quick get away to a dear family friend's farewell party...
Yes the orange pants again. Sometimes I like wearing combo's using the same piece that way they get worn twice before I do a wash/iron. You saw a very casual look with these orange pants yesterday and today they go very dressy....

The inspiration was from September 2011 issue of Vogue:
I swapped the white pants for orange and the orange coat for a white one...
I have been dying to wear this Zara coat I got on end of season clearance. It is the ultimate white coat. I love the cut the shape, everything! It is just not going to be very versatile for me to wear often given its pure whiteness and dry clean only status but I will manage.

I kept the simple lines of the jacket with this simple cuff necklace and bracelet and the super chunky knuckle clutch!

The tone on tone satin stripes of this tee makes it more dressy don't you think?
Mom was not a big fan of this unkempt hair. She said as we were leaving 'are you going to brush your hair before the photos' and I said I was selling this hair as wild and cool but she said she wasn't sure who was buying it. :)

Coat - Zara
Top, necklace - Forever 21
Pants - Romwe
Boots - Zappos
Clutch - Q

TODAY:
Well today did not quite turn out the way I envisioned. I slept in and had a leisurely breakfast watching couple favorite recorded shows than my plan was to gear in a serious work mode and get things done. Which is when I had the call from mom that my son was sick and 10 minutes later she called again to inform he wasn't breathing easily which is when I had her call the nurse doctor and dressed in a frenzy and rushed to her house. My son was sick but not ER sick so we waited until 2 pm for our Dr. appointment. He got prescribed inhalers and antibiotics and as we went to the drug store he threw up on both of us. We barely made it home to clean him up and put him down for the nap he was begging for.
I was in denial that given the situation we would ever be able to go for the farewell party but the nap helped and my mom brought back my daughter from her gym class and my hubby came home to take over and we did manage to go to the party at least for an hour or so.

My mom is on the left end.... The Turkish group of the party....

On Fire

Yesterday's outfit. This inspiration from In Style has been sitting on my desk for a while. The weather is soo weird these days. It starts chilly always but some days it totally warms up and some days it never does.

Denim shirt, liquid top - Forever 21
Scarf - Ann Taylor LOFT
Pants - Romwe
Boots - Steve Madden
Sunglasses - Karen Walker

WEDNESDAY:
My son spent the day at grandparent's house while I went to pre-school with my daughter than dropped her off as well. My hubby came home early so we could squeeze in our P90X workout before he took off for tennis and I met my girlfriend for dinner and a movie since the kids were at my mom and step dad's for the night. Hubby had to work from 10 pm to 2 AM at work for some code deployment so we didn't quite see each other....
The movie we saw Olympus fell I think was the name was really good. It felt like an unbelievable story but then again if they made a movie of 9/11 before it occurred we probably would have thought that was pretty unbelievable too (terrorist taking over flights with paper cutters). Makes you really think.
Great action movie though.

Saying Good-Bye

This was my outfit yesterday (Friday)... The inspiration came from the Nov 2011 issue of Glamour Magazine:

I wore the animal print crop cardigan backwards to have the high neck part in the front. And the vest is longer so covers the cropness of the cardi.

Vest, Top, Boots, Necklace - Forever 21
Pants - Romwe
Purse - Thread Show

FRIDAY:
After Preschool and naps we had a huge group of people at our house for a going away party for one of our friends who are moving away. It was absolute chaos but so much fun at the same time. The boys went a bit out of control and demolished my daughter's room but thank goodness to the 'army of mom's' as my husband called we managed to put it back in order.
I realize now it is not just our kids that build friendships. Without realizing we have built such amazing friendships and connections and you don't realize how much they mean to you until the possibility of loosing them. My friend and I were in tears and it is going to be such a hard separation. I don't think our kids who are great buddies are going to hurt as much as we will.
I thought after a certain age separations and good-bye's were behind us but I am reminded again how much they hurt.
Have you said good-bye to a good friend lately?

Will miss you so much!

Orange Pants

Tonight's outfit for my husband's and sister's b-day dinner was inspired from a tiny photo in the September 2011 issue of In Style Magazine:
This photo made me think of my new orange pants from Romwe and the very very old long suit blazer jacket I have.

Went with a silk white cami to keep the look dressy....
Spiked but shiny necklace added elegant edge...
Hot pink belt with gold studs was a nice color pop over the orange.
 Gold jewelry and purse...
This is such an old suit jacket but it never goes out of style. Love its long and lean cut... The material is this miracle fabric that never gets wrinkled. I wore it a lot for day travel business meetings.
I tried about 5 different pairs of black shoes before settling on these...

Jacket - Bebe
Camisole - Newport News
Pants - Romwe
Belt, Bracelets, Necklace - Forever 21
Purse - Ralph Lauren
Heels - Boutique 9

TODAY:
Day was crazy with my husband taking the kids to gym classes while I grocery shopped and ran errands.
During nap baked a cake then got the house ready for the after dinner celebration so there is no rush when everyone gets to our house. We got the kids ready after naps and met the whole family at Bucca Di Beppo for a b-Day celebration of my husband and sister who share the same birthday.
We then had everyone come to our house for cake and presents and also toasted my sister and her Fiance on their engagement. A very busy but fun night.

These were taken before we left for dinner:
My daughter always gets noticed more with her outfits but I truly enjoy dressing up my son as well. He looked cool tonight with this grey white and black ensemble...
My daughter's outfit was to die for. It is 100% silk Nicole Miller outfit with a tunic and leggings. A gift from a family friend on her 2nd b-day but she is just wearing it now. Her first designer outfit! I would have loved to pair it with regular shoes but she doesn't have any yet so it was boots.

Here is the big group at Bucca Di Beppo:

At our house:
My sister got very cool gifts!
