We've got a good thing going

Yesterday's outfit was inspired by Polyvore combo:

I am always drawn to simple casual combinations because they suit majority of the days in my lifestyle and yet add a touch of chicness to a super casual outfit…

Tee - Forever 21
Sweatshirt - Nordstrom's
Purse - Thread Show
Shorts - TJ Maxx
Sneakers - Sam Edelman

SATURDAY:
We had a fun start by attending a 1 Mile Kid Run with LaDainian Tomlinson of Chargers! Which was the big draw for my son.
Made a bad decision of pairing myself up with my son and hubby with my daughter. I don't know what posessed me to think I could keep up with him. The kid is in amazing shape so of course he sprinted forward and I lost him within minutes then panicked and frantically ran all the routes (there was a 5K route and the 1 mile route and the volunteers were confused and were sending kids to the wrong direction). My hubby and daughter finished and apperantly she was able to run the whole thing and we searched for my son and found him thank goodness. Note to family, next race pick a meeting spot near the finish line. Just in case.
The kids loved the experience so I think we are ready for our first 5K very soon.
Afterwards we came home and hung around and did some projects around the house then went to my son's friend's birthday party.
At night we were all tired so got take out greek food and watched a movie together. :)

AND SUNDAY:
No major outfit was it was spent near the pool followed by a BBQ with the family all day long celebrating Father's Day.

She put on a show for her grandparents:

At the Races

So, sorry for such a long delay in between posts... I had these photos sitting on my laptop for a few days now but at a work conference and having so much fun networking with colleagues all over the country that had no time to log on....

This was my outfit to the Del Mar Race Track on last Friday afternoon! The inspiration was a combination of the following chictopia post and from Bee:

Wouldn't be race appropriate with a hat so this white floppy hat from my mom was perfect. Coincidentally the black and white heels are also from her (my b-day present to her a few years back)...
I dropped off the kids at her house and swiped her hat and heels in a quick fashion to create this outfit!

Ruffle front halter Top - Bebe
Skirt - TJ Maxx
Hat - Mom's
Heels - Guess (Mom's)

Our dear friends own a box at the races and every year graciously treat us for a day at the races. Since my cousin is visiting from Turkey and have never been we took her as well.
It was a lot of fun!

My cousin who is an actress in Istanbul has the best artistic poses:

At the end of the day walking to our car in 'walking home ballet flats'!

Trifecta

Another inspiration from the lovely Bee of Atlantic Pacific today...

This coat of hers reminded me of the kimono top I had ordered couple months ago. And since my top is shorter than her coat I went longer on the pants...

I decided to add these pink embroidered flats under to compliment the pink scarf...

Added the pastel and silver colored accessories...

Kimono Top - Tilly's
Halter Top - Tart
Pants - Forever 21
Scarf - do not remember
Shoes - I can't read the brand name but these were from TJ Maxx I think...

Here are some cute photos with my son during the outfit photo shoot:

Today's Activities:
We had about 6 different events going on that we had to figure out which ones to go to and how.
The good thing is my son's dance class got cancelled. My mom offerred to take my daughter to her dance class and then do a re-union picnic of her NICU days from the hospital.
My husband ran out to run errands for the big family b-day party for me tomorrow and I took my son to his friend's b-day party. We were invited to two different parties but only had 1.5 hours so picked the one that was starting earlier and closer to home.
They did a cool digging for treasures game:
He was so excited with the treasure he dug up:

After the b-day party we came home to meet up with my husband wen to the Del Mar horse races with our friends. Both families left our youngest ones with grandparents so it was much easier with just the older boys.
Race track is located in the beautiful coastal town of Del Mar:
This is the winner's circle area where we took the boys to see the horses before they race...

Our friends have box seats and were gracious to take us.

My new thing is now taking photos of the drinks...
The husband's beers...

The girls' Margarita Shakers...

Del Mar races are always a venue for high fashion and fun hats...Here are some beautiful ladies I stopped to take a photo of:

This lady had an interesting hat of feathers... The photo did not really come out...

Tried to do a few more outfit shots in the boxed seats:

This is when the boys are watching the horses in the winner's circle:

After a while the horses were not of interest we turned on a movie for them and pop corn of course!

My girlfriend and I:

Lost bets...My husband did win couple good bets and my son and I won very little but enough to buy him the cars lego set he has been talking about non-stop...
