Story of my life

Yesterday's outfit was inspired by this Chictopia post:

I thought this looked so similar to my jacket and mixing with red shoes was a great idea. I had to stay realistic with a lower heeled booties though...

TUESDAY:
This week has been brutal and we are just starting it. Today was another 'no room to breathe' kind of schedule day. We had to skip our outdoor class once again as we had a Dr appt for my daughter. The office is right next to children's hospital which has a huge McDonalds with at fun statue garden play area etc… So she insisted on food and we had to sit for a while so all that took longer than I expected. Then we stopped at home for 10 minutes to clean-up etc then went to pick up my son (half day again) and parked this time so we can all go to his school book fair and they picked out 2 books each. Then we stopped at home again just in time for me to get my lunch then it was to my Dr appt attempt #2 but this time they saw me right away and we were out of there pretty quickly. Back to my son's school to meet my husband there so he can entertain the kids while I had a Parent Teacher Conference with the teacher. It was all good. He is advanced in reading and extremely advanced in Math and reasoning skills. He is super fast at everything. Areas he is just proficient and could work on are writing (he is so sloppy) and re-tell, which is the ability to summarize what he has read. She also told me he did his presentation without using his paper and was amazing at it. I was so proud.
After that we came home. Showered the kids and put cozy clothes on and went to my friend's house for a quick dinner and a chance for us to catch-up and give her son's b-day gift etc…
I was supposed to work out but I just didn't have it in me last night and now feel so blah for not sticking with it.

What I Forgot

Today's combo was inspired by this Chictopia post:
I love this slouchy pants with relaxed top, leather jacket and an animal print cardi that peeks out.  And of course the hat…
I had to dig through kids closets to find these old slacks to get the vibe...

Hat, Top, Vest, necklace - Forever 21
Cardi - mom's
Pants - Express
Boots - Steve Madden

TODAY:
OMG today was insane. We went to my daughter's pre-school but before hand stopped at Target to get her a new car seat. She had outgrown her existing one for months now and we have been dragging getting a new booster seat. So just did it this morning.
After class rushed to my son's school since he gets out early all this week for parent teacher conference meetings. Then went to costco for grocery shopping, came back home to unload it all. Rushed to my Dr's but after waiting for an hour and realizing we will still have to wait had to re-schedule and leave so we can make it to my son's swim team practice. Now I have to go back to the Dr's again tomorrow. What a waste of time.
When we came home I had an hour to cook dinner and get ready and hosted 8 friends for our book club meeting.
It was a great meeting. We just finished 'What Alice Forgot' by Liane Moriarty:

It was an absolutely amazing book. The best I feel we have read so far. Totally self reflecting and brilliant writing as the story is told from 1st person but different woman's point of view. Thick book with small font but a super fast read. It is not a suspense book but you can't seem to put it down. I would highly recommend it.

And the new book we picked for next month is, 'The light Between Oceans' by M.L. Stedman:

I love our book club. The ladies and the discussion is always so enlightening and entertaining.

High Profile

My outfit last night for my friend's big 40th Birthday Bash and the posh Grand Del Mar Resort…

Here is the outfit with the jacket on:
This inspiration was from the Sept 2013 Issue of Glamour Magazine:

I loved this purple/bordeaux/wine color scheme… To top it all added very simple accessories of just pair of rocker earrings and a large but delicate cuff. I think it all came out great together….

I truly love this dress. It is so understated and yet so flattering and a very comfy wearable jersey material that is stretchy and does not wrinkle. I ordered the dress but all the other pieces just came together from my closet in a miraculous way.

I would have never guessed how comfortable these shoes were all night long! Usually I am very skeptical of cheap shoes and only wear them when I am on my feet for a very short period of time.

Got the eye make-up and false eyelashes done at MAC:

Dress - Victoria's Secret
Jacket, Shoes, Cuff - Forever 21
Clutch - Target
Earrings - Cookie Lee

SATURDAY:
Our day started low key chilling at home then we went to my daughter's las soccer game and trophy ceremony. It is  amazing right at the end of the season she totally got into soccer. During the game she is fully engaged carrying the ball all the way fighting for it and trying to score. Her teammate brought the ball all the way down but got blocked and she saw the opportunity and scored her second goal of the season. We were so proud.

The Party was actually for my friend who is also the coach of our team. She did all this before getting ready for her big party!

THE BIG PARTY:
After the game my husband took the kids to my mom and stepdad's house and I left to get my make-up done. It was easy getting ready when I got home since my hair and make-up was done already….
Took a couple photos before we left the house:

We headed to my friend's house so we can share a cab from there (they live a lot closer to the hotel) then picked up our other friends and all went together. The resort was absolutely gorgeous. They had a private room and a deck reserved for the 12 couple group. We had cocktails the first hour then had a delicious sit down dinner followed by a big birthday cake for my beautiful friend.

Then the resort shuttle took us to their club up the hill for an all night of dancing. It was an amazing night.
The photos were all taken with their camera but here are a few that was snapped via phone's etc…

I realize now there are no husbands in these photos. But I swear they were there. Somewhere….
