Anything but Basic

Wore this dress that I haven't worn in a while. It was actually residing in my daughter's closet. Quite comfortable with a nylon like material. Dries fast too. As a mom I constantly get wet so that is a good quality. :)
I haven't worn this Marni (for H&M) necklace in a while too. So good to give these pieces life again.

This is weird but sometimes I envision my clothes have a voice of their own. Kind of like the toys in the toy story movie. And they get all sad when I don't wear them for a while. So I feel I made this dress, necklace and the shoes very happy today.

Having fun with selfie poses lately. Instead of the tripod and timer I just hold the camera and snap. ALthough with the heavy SLR and special lens it is quite an arm exercise to hold it up in one hand.

Dress - Kirne Zapete (sp?) for Target)
Wedges - Gomex

TODAY:
Uneventful day of preschool and picking up son doing pizza wednesday at his school. Going to the dentist (he has another cavity!). Back at home putting up Halloween decorations (we really need to obtain more stuff). Dinner out where my friend met us. Now catching up on TV shows with my friend...

Welcome to the Festival

 Very festival inspired outfit yesterday.

The inspiration was from a small Essie Ad Campaign inset in the June 2012 issue of Elle Magazine:
I liked the floral maxi dress with leather boots and fedora and a light touch of crochet to top it off...

MONDAY:
It was a lazy start for the day as we didn't have concrete plans. Did some painting art with the kids than my friend came over with her kids and swam with all 4 children while I ran to my Dr appointment and did a light grocery shopping. Cooked dinner at home and had the husbands babysit while I showed my friend and my mom our new Fall/Winter line.

Oh, and Here is the outfit I wore on SUNDAY:
Sunday I completely slept in since the kids were at my mom's house then went to lunch with my hubby before picking up the kids. We had plans to go to a concert in the park but everyone was out of it so stayed home instead and had the dinner we were going to take to the park. Then my cousin started having contractions and we got ready in a frenzy thinking this might be it but after 3 hours at triage found out it was a a false alarm!

Have you ever seen the rain?

 Yesterday's outfit!
Even with this many layers it was still not warm enough for the chilly and drizzly weather.

Inspiration came from Bee from Atlantic Pacific:
I of course forgot to look at the photo before I got dressed. Belting the dress over the cardigan would have been great now that I notice that!

Trench Coat - Guess
Dress - Anthropologie
Cardigan, Tights, Socks - Forever 21
Boots - Henri Bendel
Necklace - Asos

TUESDAY:
We had a field trip to a puppet theater yesterday...It is hard on Tuesdays cause I have a work call at 9 AM which is when we have to drive to the outdoor class location. The kids do great in the car but once we get there it is very hard for me to hear what is going on and get them out etc... My friends help thank goodness but just not easy.
Once the show started I took over the kids since my friend had to stay out with her older one who refused to come in until halfway into the show...
It was also tiring because we are so used to being on the go all the time that the minute we pause and slow down it hits us how amazingly tired we are. And that happened during the puppet show to me. I couldn't stow yawning and was about the fall a sleep.
The kids seemed to like it though. The little ones didn't quite get the ancient dragon tales but my son was engaged.

In the afternoon during his 'quiet time' my son created as usual super cool structures with his legos.
He calls this one the re-enactment of 'Lion King' his favorite movie:
You can see the monkey ('Rafiki') holding the lion ('Simba') on top of 'pride rock'. And all the animals in groups watching down below! And there is 'zazu' on the tree.

And this was his 'dinosaur parade' stage:
