SATURDAY NIGHT:
We met up with grandparents on our connecting flight and flew in together... Checked into our suite which is amazing with 4 bedrooms and 3 kitchens and a living room. And later that night the cousins arrived and the kids were in heaven to re-unite...
The girls have a cute suite and the boys share a pull out couch! :)

Teacher's Pet

My outfit Sunday afternoon to my stepdad's birthday dinner gathering…

The inspiration is an old one I had saved from Atlantic Pacific:

This was a somewhat conservative but a festive look. I never had the right event for it or the weather. This party was perfect though. Although it was warm so I mostly did not add the jacket….

I wasn't sure about this collar. It kept sliding away and looking weird…

Jacket, Top, Skirt - Forever 21
Collar - Marni for H&M
Heels - Boutique 9

SATURDAY:
We woke up at Big Bear and got to sleep in so was feeling a little better.
As the mommies were sitting on the deck with our morning coffee we felt the whole ground shake to an earthquake. It was quite a rush to get the kids out of the cabin and make sure it was OK. With that jolt we started hearing lightenings and the guys decided we should get on the road before it starts raining. We had to pack and load up the cars in the rain. Our hosts decided to stay a little longer and relax. So we got on the road and made good time back.
It was unpacking and starting laundry when we got home and showering.
Then got ready for my stepdad's birthday and went over to my mom's.
She had gone all out preparing a fest and he was grilling tons of steak and lamb chops.
It was great to see some of their old friends and family again…
The kids were so happy cause they had planned to spend the night there. And since we were there during the evening I made sure they went to bed on time to catch up on the sleep they had lost during our trip….

Make Each Day Count

Saturday's inspiration was from the Who What Wear website that I frequently get inspirations from:

Obviously it is a loose interpretation of this inspiration.  It was too warm to wear my mustard sweater so I went with the yellow one and no gloves.

Everyone comment on these shoes whenever I wear them. People think they are uncomfortable but they are flats and of course we know that pointy toe is beyond your actual toes so it doesn't effect you at all. They are definitely statement shoes.

Sweater - Victoria's Secret
Blouse - Bebe
Skirt - J Crew
Scarf - kika Paprika
Shoes - Zara
Purse - Thread Show

I don't even know the days… They are all kind of mashed together. Emotions are running wild from one moment to the next. My dad's condition is changing so rapidly it is impossible to cope and adopt but we do somehow. My brother is here and is staying, family members are trying to make arrangements to come. My family is helping with food and the kids. Starting this week i will have to engage friends as I don't know if we'll make it from one day to the next.

Went to the 'Pinkalcious' play with my daughter on Saturday when my dad was still OK:

Today (Sunday) the boys got together at Dad's house to watch the big Charger Game:

Splashes of Pastels

Today's Easter outfit was inspired by Bee (from Atlantic Pacific) again...
I took the idea of a floral skirt with same tone gingham blouse over a solid blouse idea and applied to pieces I already own...

The neon yellow bracelet picked up the yellow blouse I had layered under the gingham one...

These are the new semi flatform wedges from Kohl's from the 'Simply Vera Wang' collection. The mustardy yellow color somewhat goes with everything...

Gingham Blouse - Ralph Lauren (from TJ Maxx)
Yellow Blouse - Koton from Turkey
Skirt - J Crew
Necklace - Asos
Sandals - Simply Vera Wang from Kohl's
Sunglasses - Karen Walker

TODAY:
We had an amazing Sunday Easter Brunch at my mom and stepdad's this morning with the kids. My husband was supposed to join us after his morning tennis with my Dad but got stuck at home trying to make our pool heater/pump work instead. The kids enjoyed the company of all the family members and the warm weather was perfect.
Early afternoon our friends came over to our house for the first swim of the season. Except we couldn't figure out how to switch our pool equipment from winter to summer mode so the only thing that was warm enough was the hot tub. The kids did not care of course and had a blast.
We ordred pizza and salads for dinner and had a nice evening with friends.

Opening their gifts from the Easter Bunny who left them at our front door!

Mom's beautiful Easter Table;

With my little man who is enjoying something very sticky (hence the apron)...

With my beautiful sister who had the cutest outfit:

And my daughter wore another pretty outfit today this time from her Auntie (my hubby's sister):
