FRIDAY:
It has been crazy warm here in So. Cal in the 90s! So since the school was out for Veteran's day on Friday we took the kids to the beach... And these crazy kids went into the icy cold waters and had a blast...

After resting a bit and showering and changing at home, I took my sunshine girl to see a Jr. Theater production of James and the Giant Peach (a Roald Dahl book she has read last year)....
It is always a pleasure to watch such young talent on stage and very inspiration for my little actress...

Haven't met you yet

Thursday's outfit was inspired by March 2014 looks of Anthropologie:

Mine is a knee length instead of midi skirt but the idea of solid top with print skirt is there….

This is one of those skirts that is sooo old and actually kind of big on me but I keep coming back to it over and over. The print and the color is just so perfect to create amazing combinations with….

Top, belt - Forever 21
Skirt - Target
Necklace- Baublebar
Sandals - Victoria's Secret
Sunglasses - Karen Walker

THURSDAY:
After dropping off the kids at school in the morning stayed to attend the volunteer orientation followed by 'room mom' orientation. I am co owning that role for my son's class this year with another friend. I also signed up to be the class photographer for both kids' classes.
As I was leaving the meeting another new mom of my daughter's classmate asked if I had time for a cup of coffee. They just moved to San Diego from Canada and she also has a 2nd grader son so it was great getting to know each other and it was apparently her birthday!
At home I caught up on unanswered emails and following up on creating team site for my son's soccer team and updating his class site etc…
Went to pick them up and brought them home for homework and snack. Then dropped off my daughter at my friend's house so she can take her to soccer while I took my son to his 2nd soccer practice of the week. The weather has dropped in temp like crazy and it was actually chilly on the field after days of heat.
I had made sandwiches for dinner for us so he can eat on the drive home to save time and get him to bed when we got home… My husband picked up my daughter and had their own dinner and came home. Teamwork.

I see your true colors Shining through

Today's fun combo was inspired by Fashion Diva Design:

I went with gladiator sandals instead….

Denim Jacket - Vintage
Tank Top, Necklace, Belt - Forever 21
Skirt - Kika Paprika
Sandals - Victoria's Secret
Sunglasses - CRAP Eyewear

TODAY:
I still don't feel 100% but trudging on anyway…
Went to my daughter's pre-school which we have been off for a while now cause our teacher's daughter just graduated Yale. It was nice seeing everyone.
Then came home and instead of resting got into this closet organizing and had to stop myself for lunch and go get my son from school. When we got home finished organizing my daughter's closet than attacked the entry level table and found all sorts of sunglasses and lip glosses I have been missing.
Kids with the excuse of trying to get a pool out of the water ended up going in with half their clothes on which was silly. Took them out just to dry and put on other swim suits to take them to swim practice/class. Finally at home my mom came to take my daughter so she can take her to ballet tomorrow while I go with my son to his last field trip to the Children's Museum. He is so happy I am coming.

Gilt Club

Outfit Thursday night at Portland for happy hour drinks and dinner....

Inspiration from the Russian 'Burda' magazine:

Tee, Belt, Chains - Forever 21
Skirt - TJ Maxx
Booties - Juicy Couture
Backpack - Victoria's Secret
Necklace - Bauble Bar

THURSDAY NIGHT:
Our other two friends arrived in the afternoon and we all got ready to hit the town. Walked around Chinatown which is unique for sure as it is much more quiet here so far than San Diego and interesting characters on the streets. So much that we had to pick an choose who we can hand over the SLR to take a photo of all of us.  Found the club we had looked up in the tour guides and sampled some of their wild signature cocktails while nibbling on pork rinds and bread.
Then after 9 PM went to the rooftop grill with gorgeous panaromic skyline views for their late night dinner and drinks menu where everything was under $10.
Feels like all we did is eat and drink today!

We both turned 40 this summer!

Life with My Friends

Last nights crazy combination was inspired by no other than the lovely Sarah Jessica Parker. Both herself and her character in the show has been a great fashion idol to me...
This was out there to create for me. I put so many layers on that I probably added 2 dress sizes to my body but really wanted to try it out.
So this is layering two quite big and full skirts on top of each other. Then 2 sleveeless tops, plus a scarf plus a fur coat!

I wasn't crazy about the bulky way the tops looked but that is more due to my not so thin waist...

I liked how the skirts looked together... The print was perfect to go with the blue top and the red heels!

The heels were perfect. Although I had no stockings on I wasn't cold due to many layers on top...

The knuckle clutch got a lot of attention and comments through the night...

Fur Coat - Vintage from my mom's 2nd hand clothing store back in Turkey
Blue top - Ann taylor
Cream ruffle front top - Forever 21
Scarf - from turkey
Print Skirt - Target
Tulle Skirt - Romwe
Heels - Stuart Weitzman
Clutch - NYC Fashion (from TJ Maxx)

LAST NIGHT:
We tried out a new restaurant that had great reviews way out east and south as part of restaurant week. They don't take reservations so we had to wait 45 minutes for a table. We killed time by doing a wine tasting next door. The food was quite good and we were soooo hungry...
