Game Zone

What I wore last friday... which was an insanely crazy day that started at 6:30 AM and ended at 7 PM....

Inspiration:

This is the new faux fur vest I got from Cabi. Unlike my other fur vest it is less bulky and a lot easier to carry and has pockets! :)
Vest - Cabi
Pants - J Crew
Top - Target
Boots - Steve Madden
Sunglasses - Karen Walker

FRIDAY:
It started with my son's first Student Council meeting and swearing in ceremony by a real judge that came to the school. I was so proud of him as he stepped out of his comfort zone to run for 4th grade class rep and prepared his whole speech himself and apparently delivered with humor and won!

Then I drove 5 children including my son to the university for this class field trip to study Geology:

Then we got back and when the school was out (there was about a 20 minute break in between) we gathered the girls in my daughter's troop and drove them to a pumpkin station for fun and rides!!!!

It's Pumpkin Time

I must have tried on 10 different aztec print wraps and cardigans before settling on this one. Some looked like I literally wrapped a blanket around myself, some looked so frumpy. This was just the right amount of floatieness without being too baggy or bulky….

Cardigan - Marshalls
Tee - From Turkey
Jeans - Old Navy
Booties - Betsey Johnson
Sunglasses - Karen Walker

MONDAY:
It took my group forever to find a common date we can take the kids to the pumpkin patch. At the end some of us had to miss some sort of an activity to make it. So we ditched swimming and picked Monday to meet up after school.
We have been going every year and who knows may be this was the last. The boys are getting too big for it. ONe thing that is nice though is we give them their tickets and they go around by themselves now. Of course they were too tall for the swings and we had to help them fit in… :)

Pumpkins in Sight

Monday's outfit was inspired by People Style Watch's April 2014 issue:

I didn't have a similar tank but used the bright and silky top over the very distressed white denim jeans. The contrast is cool I think….

Top - from Peter Pilotto collection of Target
Jeans - Forever 21
Earrings - Cookie Lee
Slip on's - Sam Edelman Circus

MONDAY:
Volunteered at my daughter's class again today and picked up the kids right on time when they got out of school and we went straight to the pumpkin station to meet our friends.
Had to skip swimming but we knew to find a common afternoon some of us were going to have to miss some sort of sporting activity as we all have our afternoons full.
We also figured the boys are getting too old to enjoy the mini rides so this could be our last year. But then again my friend pointed out may be not as there were a few 40 year old enjoying the giant jumpy slide with our kids! :)

They barely fit into these swings. It was a major hassle trying to get them out. My son has been shooting up like crazy getting so tall at 89th percentile for his age it was hilarious to see them in the tiny swings….

We come every year with the same group. It will be so nostalgic to look back when they are all in their teens and full of attitude at these photos and reminisce….

Ride On

Today's inspiration was from Shoedazzle lookbook for their boots:
I loved the knit leggings with flat tall boots and scarf/hat/moto jacket combo…
You never know how long chilly weather will last here so want to take advantage of it while it is cold…

Jacket, Hat, turtleneck - Forever 21
Scarf - Ann Taylor LOFT
Ponte Legging Pants - kika Paprika
Boots - very old catalog/online purchase. I honestly do not remember from where…
Bracelets, ring - Bauble bar, etsy, cookie lee, park lane

TODAY:
We started the morning taking it easy and having breakfast with my dad. Since we had time he even got to read couple stories to my daughter before we left…

Went to a close by pumpkin patch with our outdoor class this time. My daughter in her 2 of 3 halloween costumes dresses as a pumpkin for the occasion. I have to say the $4 thrift store purchase orange crocs have come in very handy this halloween.
The girls went through the rides so fast in record speed that we were done before noon including eating our picnic lunch.
Stopped at a store to do a return then came to the indoor play area for my job search…

I loved this mom and son in the sock monkey costumes….

My little pumpkin….

At night met up with the girls for a late dinner at a restaurant that had no corkage fee on tuesdays so that really kept the cost down…
