Project Runway

What I wore Sunday... Initially this was an outfit with a baseball top, scarf and a bomber jacket to watch my son's 8 AM baseball game...
Then after coming home and doing chores and laundry and dropping my daughter at a playdate I switched to the chiffon sleeveless blouse jacket and added accessories and made it to my mom's house so we can go to a 'Cabi' show together at her friend's house...

Inspiration from Pinterest:

Jacket - Forever 21
Top - Philip Lim for Target
Jeans - J Crew
Booties - Betsey Johnson
Accessories: TJ Maxx, Baublebar
Sunglasses - House of Harlow

SUNDAY:
My little slugger is having so much fun this off season baseball league with his dad coaching and managed to have 5 of his friends in his team...

This was an early morning game starting at 8 AM after coming home I attached household chores but in the midst my absolutely the most creative and imaginative person I know: daughter wanted me to help her to build a lava lamp where she discovered how to on youtube...
So we cleaned out a jar and and helped her build this:

Then Mom and I went to a 'Cabi' Show at her friend's house....
I thought Cabi was more of an older generation brand, but I was surprised with how many pieces I fell in love with. And I so remembered my Kika Paprika days and how much I love clothing parties...
They had amazing lookbooks which is I think what helps imagining these pieces in trendy outfits and how versatile they can be....

Tough Choice

Sunday's outfit was inspired by this look from J Crew:

I don't have a sleeveless denim top so I used a white top instead but adding the large brim black fedora was a great idea from the inspiration...

Top - From Turkey
Skirt - Vintage
Hat - Forever 21
Slides - Zara
Purse - DKNY

SUNDAY:
The kids and I finally finished listening to the Harry Potter Book #4 (Goblet of Fire) on tape this week so we were all looking forward to watching the movie sunday morning. I love sharing these books with the kids as it becomes 'our thing' as we reference books we have read together. And I am amazed at my son's ability to remember every character name and scene from such thick book.
He was torn though by mid morning by the decision he had to make whether to continue watching the really long movie or going over to his Grandpa's house to watch the Charger game as he had promised the night before.
Decisions, decisions, decisions…
He decided to keep his promise at the end and go and watched the rest of the movie when he came home late afternoon after his baseball game.

It's a Shore Thing

Yesterday's outfit was inspired by this Pinterest post:

I substituted my peach jeans instead of shorts and went for sleeveless sheer top instead of the long sleeve version. The pearls and jeweled sandals and black sunglasses pulled the look...

Shirt, Necklace - Forever 21
Jeans - Thrifted
Sandals - Steve Madden (from TJ Maxx)
Sunglasses - House of Harlow

THURSDAY:
We skipped the ice skating lesson to join this 'Shore Thing' event at the Museum of Modern art which happens to be located in my zipcode. Every thursday they have a free entrance to the museum with a DJ and a cash bar. The venue is just absolutely breathtaking over looking our city' beautiful shoreline.
We first met at the rec center across the street and had the kids play and ate a picnic dinner then went in. ONly to discover the current exhibition is quite not suitable for children so we had to browse very quickly and skip some of the rooms as the paintings were quite disturbing…
But the kids had a great time playing at the outside area. We all decided this would be a great outing for couples sans children…. Next time….

Yeah, yeah, this is a tough city to live in!...
