1st Day

Today's outfit for a very excitement filled day - my son's first day of school starting 1st grade...

The inspiration was from Anthropologie's summer catalog:
Given how hot the weather is pulled these super summery inspirations so I can still wear blog worthy outfits and not die off heat...

 Tank, Belt - Forever 21
Skirt - From Turkey
Sandals - Victoria's Secret
Sunglasses - Karen Walker
Earrings - Thread Show
Bracelets - Bauble Bar

TODAY:
Oh my goodness what a crazy morning. Even though I did everything I can to get ready the night before and went to bed at 10pm and woke up at 6:30 AM we were still stressed and rushing to get out of the house by 7:30 AM.
We decided we all need to wake up earlier, get ready even more the night before and dress before breakfast as a family to avoid the morning rush.

Today was my son's first day starting 1st grade! Kindergarten at the same school was so removed from the entire school that it really felt like we were starting a brand new school this morning. To top it all my son's name was not on any class list (oversight but they knew which class he belonged to).
My son was very calm and cool though. The teacher seemed nice, young and very modern looking. You know me I pay attention to what she was wearing and it was quite cool: a form fitting black pencil skirt topped with a silky black hi-low tank and black wedges. She had short blond hair in a modern cut.
We heard she doesn't have kids and has a reputation of being impatient but my son is a model student so that is not a worry to me. What I care is she is organized and fair and a good communicator. I was so happy to get a long letter from her this afternoon explaining her teaching style and how she will communicate with us.
After my son's school drop off we went to the park to sign up for my daughter's outdoor class. The heat was unbearable in the sun. And afterwards as I planned we went to the indoor play area so I can dedicate couple hours to my job search then picked up my son and had the kids cool off in the pool....

Ruffled Shorts

This was my outfit on Saturday! I posted Sunday's outfit first since I wore the 'oxblood' to do the BDIB. So this is a late post but I have added today's outfit too to catch up!

The inspiration from J Crew catalog I think last year's!

Top, Shorts - Forever 21
Silk sandals - H&M
Necklace & Ring - Park Lane Jewelry

HERE IS THE OUTFIT FROM TODAY:

Inspiration from People Style Watch July 2012 Issue:

The i phone and the ear set is not a prop. I was actually on a work call and had to snap the photos before making to my daughter's outdoor class!

Layered a taupe tank under a white one....

Utility Jacket - Gap
Tanks & Belt - Forever 21
Shorts - TJ Maxx
Sneaker wedges - Roxy
Hat - Target

TODAY:
Took my son to school then stopped by home before heading to the outdoor class which by luck was right by our house.
I was totally determined today to get back into my business and made my new resolution of 5 phone calls and sent a few emails. My mom came over to hang out and pick up my son solo and took him out for ice cream (frozen yogurt really). He was so cute telling me all about his day voluntarily. Picking him up without my daugther makes such a difference. He really likes this one on one time.

From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere!

This was my outfit today during the day.
P.S. My title is from One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss,

The inspiration came from the November 2011 issue of In Style magazine from a small photo of SJP in an article about finding the perfect corduroy pants:

When I saw this photo I immediately thought of my super old blue boot cut cords. They were already moved to my husband's closet (yes I now officially have clothes in everyone else's closet in the house!). Since I own and have only been wearing skinny cords these were temporarily retired.
But I loved how her pants look like boot cuts cuffed as well. So that gave me the idea. Plus knowing the temp would be high today wearing a tank top (in the middle of winter) was a perfect choice...

And with the hat off, cause you know you want to see my new hair everyday! :)

Cardigan - Banana Republic (thrifted)
Tank - Alloy's
Scarf - Forever 21
Cords - Guess (I think, I am too lazy to go look now)
Hat - Jessica Simpson (from TJ Maxx)
Boots - Newport News

TODAY:
It was the first day of outdoor class and we had a super cool field trip to Quail Botanical Gardens. I forget how beautiful this place is and how much there is to do. Kids loved playing in the man made huge tree house, admiring the huge iron artwork and then taking a nature hike through the waterfalls, bamboo forests and the frog pond ending in another fun play area.
