It is going down, I am yelling 'Timber'

So this combo was inspired by the Tommy Hilfiger in the recent
November issues of fashion magazine:

I swear to you this looked a lot cooler in person than in the photos. It seems too hodge podge in the photos for some reason. Not sure why...

Blazer - Vintage (my mom's)
Vest - J Crew (very very very old)
Top - Banana Republic
Shorts - Forever 21
Boots - Target

FRIDAY:
It was our snack day at preschool. Which means I get to serve snack for the whole class then clean-up but as a result my daughter gets to be teacher's helper during circle time which she loves.

Morning shake your body dance...

Teacher's Helper...

Months of the year dance...

After school we stopped at home for lunch then left early to park and walk to my son's class to celebrate his teacher's birthday with a gift basket and cookies. We then came home and my son asked to not go swimming cause it was so cold outside (OK, cold for us Souther Cal people). So we stayed home had my dad over and had a warm dinner instead.

Oh, and here how the kids had found our two little naughty elves Friday morning:

Christmas doesn't come from a store, maybe Christmas means a little bit more...

Today's combo was inspired by the old Aug 2011 issue of Elle Magazine:

It was a small photo in larger page like below. I liked the argyle combination with the military neutral colors....

I am not 100% convinced the red top underneath worked with this combo...
Coat - Guess
Top - Newport News
Vest - J Crew
Pants - Bebe
Necklace - gift from Mom
Boots - Steve Madden

TODAY:
After kids' school today we met up with my friend and went downtown to Balboa Park. We had dinner at the very nice (and only) restaurant there then took them to see the 'Grinch who stole christmas' play.
My son and I have been going every years for the last two years but it was first time for my daughter.
All the kids were in a trans while watching the show. It was so much more fun watching their reaction than the show itself. My daughter kept squeezing my arm and seeking shelter when she got scared but couldn't take her eyes off of the stage.
It was such a fun night....

 Purchased these at zulilly!

Mad Prints

This fun and interesting mix of prints and pieces was inspired by the August 2012 issue of the In Style Magazine:
I love the idea of pairing a graphic tee with a dressy skirt like this silk pleated one... Adding the oxfords totally took it to a whole other level. Funny to think couple years ago I would not have the guts to wear oxfords like these under a skirt never the less, but now I feel totally comfortable with the concept.

Argyle Cardigan - Forever 21
Tee - Target
Skirt - La Redoute
Belt - From Turkey
Necklace, cross bracelet - Cookie Lee
Ring  - Park Lane
Oxfords - Bass

And at night I went out with my bf for happy hour and to see 'Cloud Atlas' at the luxury theaters. Oh my goodness that movie was long. It was interesting but a bit hard to follow. Amazing acting for sure.
Another inspiration from the same magazine (August 2012 In Style):

Top, Pants, Clutch - Forever 21
Booties - Michael Antonio
Necklace - Cookie Lee
