The Chill Factor

Today's faux fur vest outfit was inspired by this 2 year old Piperlime ad:

It is really really hard to look slim in a faux fur vest. And since this ruffle and tulle hem top is a tank top I had to also wear a long sleeve top which added a bit of a bulk but I think it was OK...

Vest - Kenza
Linen top - Charlotte Russe
Top - Target
Jeans, necklace - Forever 21
Boots - Madden Girl

TODAY:
Didn't have it in me today to trek to the annual balloon parade on the San Diego Bay that we go every year. So we stayed home for a while then took the kids to the mall to exchange some of the clothes I got my husband for the correct sizes and met my mom there. That seemed to have filled our day.
We are getting ready now for a big adventure that will start tomorrow afternoon!

Going to Big Bear to stay at our friend's 3 bedroom cabin. It will be 4 families, so 8 adults and 8 kids in a 3 bedroom 1 bath house for 2 nights! Should be interesting. We are somewhat treating it like camping packing beds and linens and towels etc... The kids are super excited to see snow and so are we.
My goals for tomorrow is finish packing up the whole family, run errands such as bank and post office, put away all the Christmas decorations and IF THERE IS TIME head to Target to see if Can find a last minute snow boots. As my husband pointed out among my 90+ pairs of shoe collection not a single pair of snow boots if you can believe it! I have ski boots and uggs but nothing to actually play in the snow. We'll see... Not packing any blog worthy outfits but will take some photos to share when we get back...

I will also schedule my last 'who is wearing Kika?' post while I am gone...

Oh, a quick share of the kids with their new electronics....

Sugar Plum Fairy

My outfit last night as I attended a board meeting for planning a fundraising event for a non profit organization. You will see the outfit I wore earlier in the day. I swapped the tulle skirt with the cream mini from my line and added this soft tweed cardigan and a belt.

DAY OUTFIT:

This was our matching outfits to see the Nutcracker Ballet on Wednesday!

I got the idea for this color combination from this lookbook photo of 'Threadsence' website:
I kind of liked these dark colors with the stark light tulle skirt...

Vest - 'Angie' in Cognac by kikaPaprika
Top - 'Paige' in Bordeaux vy kikaPaprika
Skirt - Forever 21
Tights - We love Color
Boots - Forever 21
Necklace - friend's gift

WEDNESDAY:
Our trip to the ballet was great. We read the book twice a few nights before the performance so my daughter knew the story plus she has been taking ballet for a few months now so we kept identifying the moves. We got lucky and sat in the very front row which was awesome. I watch pretty much solely their feet so front row seats were perfect.
It was such a pleasure sharing the experience with my daughter. Her favorite part was the dances in the 'land of sweets' and the 'sugar plum fairy'.

Ruffled Shorts

This was my outfit on Saturday! I posted Sunday's outfit first since I wore the 'oxblood' to do the BDIB. So this is a late post but I have added today's outfit too to catch up!

The inspiration from J Crew catalog I think last year's!

Silk sandals - H&M
Necklace & Ring - Park Lane Jewelry

HERE IS THE OUTFIT FROM TODAY:

Inspiration from People Style Watch July 2012 Issue:

The i phone and the ear set is not a prop. I was actually on a work call and had to snap the photos before making to my daughter's outdoor class!

Layered a taupe tank under a white one....

Utility Jacket - Gap
Tanks & Belt - Forever 21
Shorts - TJ Maxx
Sneaker wedges - Roxy
Hat - Target

TODAY:
Took my son to school then stopped by home before heading to the outdoor class which by luck was right by our house.
I was totally determined today to get back into my business and made my new resolution of 5 phone calls and sent a few emails. My mom came over to hang out and pick up my son solo and took him out for ice cream (frozen yogurt really). He was so cute telling me all about his day voluntarily. Picking him up without my daugther makes such a difference. He really likes this one on one time.
