Just for Frills

Today's combo was inspired by Who What Wear site look I had saved from a while back:

Then today I saw another look from the same site that channeled the same vibe:

I like the bohemian feel this outfit gave once put together...

My mom got me this purse as a diaper bag from a thrift store. It was actually too large to use for that but I have been using for an overnight stay bag or when we do spa day with the girls it is perfect to load up everything and still look chic.

Hat - Asos
Blouse, Jeans - H&M
Booties - Betsey Johnson
Purse - can't remember the brand
Necklace - very old can't remember where this is from either…

TODAY:
A bit slower day today thank goodness. Went to my daughter's ballet class and got to sit and watch her today as once a semester they let parents observe.
Then we stopped at home to clean up and then went to the indoor play area which is closing end of this month, so she can play and I can catch up.
Then it was picking up my son coming home to change and off to register my daughter for soccer for Fall. Yes, they want us to register this early and it had to be in person for some odd reason couldn't be done online!
My stepdad took my son to his 2nd baseball practice of the week and brought him back just in time for dinner.
AFter dinner did the 'thigh and high' sculpting workout of the 'Brazilian Butt Lift'. And…
OMG,… OMG….OMG… it was excruciatingly painful. If you watch the video you would think nothing is being worked as the moves are tiny. But using a rubber band and my gosh it works this tiny tiny muscles that make up our derrière. I am the queen of squats and leg lifts but these moves were something else.  I wanted to cry.
I am not sure how I am going to feel tomorrow!

Studded Tartan

This was my outfit today. I am so bummed cause I had a pretty cool outfit on yesterday and never had time to take photos and was way too lazy to put it all on again. Oh well.
Today I picked a comfortable outfit to hold my all day open house. I also had to wear something from my line that was not on sale and I have officially decided to keep this top at least one more season as I love the deep bordeaux color and the silky fabric.

Don't you love these slipper style shoes. Plaid tartan with silver studs. For $12 from shoedazzle!

Top - 'Paige' in bordeaux by kikaPaprika
Jeans, necklaces - Forever 21
Shoes - shoe dazzle

TODAY:
Had a fun open house today selling off my samples. Everyone came staggered so I could spend quality time with each friend/customer and there was never a time where I didn't have someone shopping.
Put away lots of hangers which is the goal. Need to make some room for the new line that will take their place on my rack in February!
I booked many parties too so hoping to start the season strong...
Nothing better than spending a day styling people.

Little Luxuries

Today's outfit was inspired by this Chictopia post:

My colors are a bit darker but I took the concept of faux fur vest, plaid tartan scarf and a floppy fedora hat.... With Tall boots.

This is a Neiman Marcus & Target collaboration piece. The puffy shoulders are very interesting don't you think. Got it at their 50% off sale of course.

Vest - Target
Hat - TJ Maxx
Top, Jeans, Scarf - Forever 21
Boots - the brand escapes me right now. It will come to me.
Purse - Q

SATURDAY:
Well started the morning with unexpected trip to Sears to purchase a new washer as our washer stopped working last night after an entire full bottle of liquid detergent fell and spilled on it. It was getting very old and rusting and cracked so it was time.
After lunch we came home. My son and husband went to a college basketball game together. While I met my sister and with my daughter we had high tea at a tea shop! It was so cute. She had never seen sugar cubes and put about 8 over time in her tea so she was getting quite hyper and we left shortly after we finished all the food and the teas.
We then went to the mall. AFter scouring the sale racks of Anthropologie and J Crew as promised we went to the disney store and my daughter tried on every princess dress. She loves trying on stuff now in stores. We settled on a Merida dress (from Brave) with matching shoes and tiara for her b-day trip to Disneyland. Then we went to Zara to find the entire store on sale! That was not good for my sister and I. Purchased a few items but haven't 100% decided on keeping them yet. Need to decide....
It was a fun day with my lil sis and daughter with just us girls. We kept saying the only one missing was my mom who is on vacation!

The Chill Factor

Today's faux fur vest outfit was inspired by this 2 year old Piperlime ad:

It is really really hard to look slim in a faux fur vest. And since this ruffle and tulle hem top is a tank top I had to also wear a long sleeve top which added a bit of a bulk but I think it was OK...

Vest - Kenza
Linen top - Charlotte Russe
Top - Target
Jeans, necklace - Forever 21
Boots - Madden Girl

TODAY:
Didn't have it in me today to trek to the annual balloon parade on the San Diego Bay that we go every year. So we stayed home for a while then took the kids to the mall to exchange some of the clothes I got my husband for the correct sizes and met my mom there. That seemed to have filled our day.
We are getting ready now for a big adventure that will start tomorrow afternoon!

Going to Big Bear to stay at our friend's 3 bedroom cabin. It will be 4 families, so 8 adults and 8 kids in a 3 bedroom 1 bath house for 2 nights! Should be interesting. We are somewhat treating it like camping packing beds and linens and towels etc... The kids are super excited to see snow and so are we.
My goals for tomorrow is finish packing up the whole family, run errands such as bank and post office, put away all the Christmas decorations and IF THERE IS TIME head to Target to see if Can find a last minute snow boots. As my husband pointed out among my 90+ pairs of shoe collection not a single pair of snow boots if you can believe it! I have ski boots and uggs but nothing to actually play in the snow. We'll see... Not packing any blog worthy outfits but will take some photos to share when we get back...

I will also schedule my last 'who is wearing Kika?' post while I am gone...

Oh, a quick share of the kids with their new electronics....
