Casually Slacking

In the interest of catching up with are going with two outfits in one post from the same inspiration page .
This page is from Sept 2011 issue of People Style Watch. My folders are getting so big and I simply do not have enough days to wear all the outfit ideas I have. So some are getting old like this but they still feel current so here it goes....
You can see below how I mark my inspirations by the way. I take notes next to the photos as to which pieces from my closet resemble the outfit. Then I assign a number and add it to my excel spreadsheet! I know, I know I lost you at 'excel spreadsheet' but that is me! :)

First outfit inspiration was this green pants, blush blazer with burgundy heels combo:

You can see I modified this a bit. I didn't feel like a button down blouse today so wore this white top my sister left with me (sometimes she leaves clothing at my house without an explanation)!
I also felt too cold to wear purple wedges so wore my bordeaux doc marten style boots instead. I like the contrast it creates with the dressy top. The necklaces were also more interesting. Her outfit seemed a bit plain.

what can I say this eagle necklace is my new favorite. It kind of increases the 'cool' factor in all my outfits! The colors are perfect and it is a pretty heavy and high quality necklace. Sometimes F21 can surprise you. The 2nd necklace was an amazing find from Anthropologie clearence rack for $10.

These boots are more practical than the originals as they have  a side zip so I never fuss with the laces which is somewhat of a requirement for me with the kids.

Jacket, Eagle Necklace, belt - Forever 21
Top - Topshop
Long necklace - Anthropologie
Bracelet - Charlotte Russe
Pants - Bebe
Boots - Target
Sunglasses - House of Harlow

2nd OUTFIT:

So I was going to add my more grey pants and white blazer to match this better but I felt cozier with the grey blazer and honestly I didn't care enough to search for the grey slacks in the kids closets and reached for this pair in my closet instead.
Since they were too long I couldn't do white sneakers but added my wedge sneakers instead...

The eagle again. :)

I think everything is pretty much from Forever 21
except the sneakers are steve madden and
the tee is from Target...

TUESDAY:
Went to the outdoor class then had to leave early to pick up my son from school as they have half days all this week. Met a group of kindergarten mommies for a playdate at a park closer to the school. It was so nice getting to know them better and forming relationships. The kids had fun too.

WEDNESDAY:
Went to the indoor class then my parents picked up the kids and my hubby and I have our first parent teacher conference for my son. I am then meeting the girls for happy hour!

Center Stage

I seem to be on some kind of aqua kick I realize now. The thing is I don't think about it until I look at the blog history that I have been doing aqua combo's for a few days in a row now!

This one was inspired by a cute blog I have discovered called 'Last Year of Twenty Something'! Not sure if she is going to change her blog title when she turns 30 in 6 months but it is very cute. She had posted this photo and I saved both combinations as inspirations:
What I liked in the combo on the right was mixing orange with aqua green and pearls and touch of yellows.

The long necklace is from Target's new "Webster Miami' collection which I loved.

The fact that the bracelets match the shoes  is totally by luck!

Top - 'Elyse' in aqua from Kika Paprika
Pants, Necklace, bracelets, purse - Target
Scarf - H&M
Sandals - Asos

TODAY:
Had a playdate at our house with a friend I haven't seen in a while so it was nice to catch-up and have the kids re-connect again. We had envisioned a sunny day where we let the kids play with water table but of course murphy's law it was a cold and chilly day. But since we had both already promised the kids water play so we had to give in. Kids really could care less about the weather. And my daughter is obsessed with wearing her swim suits. After lunch and naps my parents took the kids for their Karate classes and ice cream than I met them for a dinner out.

Kick Start

Today's outfit was inspired by the January 2011 issue of In Style Magazine:

The combination was simple but very usable...

Added cream colored accessories...

If I could do it I would have loved to wear my super high cream wedges but even these were pushing it for a long day with the kids. I managed though...

Jacket, Tank, Bangles - Forever 21
Skinny Cargo pants - Target
Wedges - Victoria's Secret
Ring - from Turkey
Sunglasses - Romwe

TODAY:
Had a long outing with the kids today. Went to the mall that is known to be very kid friendly but apparently they are undergoing some major construction and all the kid areas (the park, train, jumpy were all gone) Even the food court that used to overlook the ice skating/hockey ring was closed off. At least the photos on the walls of what will be built come November kept the kids hopeful. We shopped for new sunglasses for them as my son has outgrown his old ones. Living in Southern CA even the kids need sunglasses on a regular basis. We then went to the indoor play area instead of coming home. Since my daughter rarely naps I figured they can just play there and there won't be any clean-up to do afterwards. When it was time we left for the Karate classes and even got there in time to fit in a grocery shopping before the class. Of course my daughter was exhausted and literally passed out on the way home. She was so tired that I couldn't wake her up even after transferring her to the living room couch and turning on the TV. Finally got her up for dinner. My son on the other hand was like the Energizer bunny playing baseball outside after we came home. I wish I had his energy!
