Lightshow

Yesterday's cozy outfit was inspired by this chictopia post:

Not the best photos taken very quick by the very end of the day….
Sweater, Blouse, Hat - Forever 21
Pants - Kika Paprika
Boots - Target

MONDAY:
We went to my son's swim practice in the morning. The weather was gorgeous and sunny and they swam for 45 minutes instead of the usual 30 and he hung in there with 4th and 5th graders in the olympic size pool with the 50 yard lanes.
Afterwards we stopped at home to just rinse him and dress then rushed to the movie theaters in the mall which was a big mistake as the mall and parking was crazy. We made it the last minute to the movies and there were not enough seats so my daughter had to sit on my lap even though I bought her a full ticket.
We finally saw 'Frozen' it was pretty good. Then we hung out with my mom and step dad who had also come to see the movie with us but had to sit separately since there was no space.

Then we picked up my hubby from home and headed north to my friend's house for a playdate, dinner and a short drive to the light show in their neighborhood with her family….

It's crystal clear

/

Sunday's outfit was inspired by the November 2013 issue of In Style Magazine:

I liked this combination of red white and blue but in different hues that flag colors.

Leather Jacket - Vintage (my mom's)
Red Sweater - Express (part of an ancient twin set)
Blue french cuffed shirt - Victoria's Secret (again ridiculous old that it had dust on it)
Skirt - Newport News (part of a suit)
Necklace - Cookie Lee
Boots - Madden Girl

SUNDAY:
We skipped Turkish School so we can spend time with my in-laws and went out to breakfast in the morning. My kids had doughnuts to hold them over but of course that was not nearly enough for my son and he just couldn't wait until his full adult size breakfast arrived and to our astonishment he ate almost all of it. More than us. The kid is amazing I tell you.
Afterwards we went for a walk on the boardwalk to the pier which had a big Christmas tree at the end.
We hung out at the house for a while then my in-laws left and I did house chores than got my daughter ready for her final performance. While she was at the theater I met my friend for a lunch and a drink so it was a great use of the free time.
We then met at the house where the boys (son, husband and my dad) were watching football and we had dinner together…

Every moment red-letter

Yesterday's outfit which I was too busy and tired to post when I came home so late last night…

It was inspired by this look posted on Forever 21's website:

I realize I am treating the navy/green tartan pants as my red/black tartan pants but I think it still goes. I needed a simple and comfy outfit so this worked. I added the wool cap and military style looking necklace and oxfords...

Cardigan - Victoria's Secret
Tee - Stylemint
Pants - Rock Republic from Kohl's
Necklace - H&M
Oxfords - Shoedazzle
Cap - J Crew

SATURDAY:
We were the laziest family ever in the morning all four of lounging in our PJs till it was almost 11:30 AM! But then we had to get up and shower and get dressed. My in law's arrived shortly after and it was too cold and were all too tired to go anywhere so hung around the house chatting, my daughter putting on her usual shows and then playing dominos all together. By early afternoon I got each kid bathed and ready. My son and husband went to our friends' Holiday party. My in-laws took my daughter to dinner and then brought her to her ballet performance. I had to leave much earlier for my volunteering shift in the dressing room of the nutcracker performance. It was a 4 hour shift with literally zero down time!
Absolutely exhausting. Undressing and dressing kids over and over. Fixing their hair, taking them to potty and water breaks, trying to keep them quiet and in line and ready for stage and the most challenging task yet was to apply their bright red lipstick. They have tiny lips and have no idea how to hold their lips and without a liner it was just so messy.
And unfortunately they didn't let me know when my daughter's role was done so my in-laws picked her up after the show and I followed 30 minutes later when every kid was picked up.
In short my daughter didn't go to bed until almost 10 PM and of course still woke up by 6:30 am!

Here is my little ballerina with her grandparents ready for her 4th performance:
She is obsessed by the way watching the professional NYC ballet version and her own youth company version of the nutcracker DVDs over and over and dancing away.
