Sounds of the Orange Grove

Today's outfit was inspired by a look from Who What Wear site:

Such a brilliant look to pair the slip on's with a pencil skirt…

AND when it got warm, I took off the long sleeve sweater and had a very similar short sleeve lighter knit to underneath:

This type of look also had an inspiration:

Sweater - Nordstrom
Top - Victoria's Secret
Skirt, Sunglasses - Forever 21
Slip on's - Sam Edelman (CIRCUS)

Went with my son on his class field trip to Children's museum. The structured and guided tour seemed a bit too structured but they still had some fun I think. My son who was so looking forward to the field trip felt tired all of a sudden and was out of it.
Afterwards the teacher gave us an OK to take them home early but he wanted to stay so I ran some errands and came home then went back to pick him up. My parents came over and played with the kids while I did the party favors for his upcoming b-day party and cooked dinner.

I see your true colors Shining through

Today's fun combo was inspired by Fashion Diva Design:

I went with gladiator sandals instead….

Denim Jacket - Vintage
Tank Top, Necklace, Belt - Forever 21
Skirt - Kika Paprika
Sandals - Victoria's Secret
Sunglasses - CRAP Eyewear

I still don't feel 100% but trudging on anyway…
Went to my daughter's pre-school which we have been off for a while now cause our teacher's daughter just graduated Yale. It was nice seeing everyone.
Then came home and instead of resting got into this closet organizing and had to stop myself for lunch and go get my son from school. When we got home finished organizing my daughter's closet than attacked the entry level table and found all sorts of sunglasses and lip glosses I have been missing.
Kids with the excuse of trying to get a pool out of the water ended up going in with half their clothes on which was silly. Took them out just to dry and put on other swim suits to take them to swim practice/class. Finally at home my mom came to take my daughter so she can take her to ballet tomorrow while I go with my son to his last field trip to the Children's Museum. He is so happy I am coming.

You have lost your muchness

Today's combo was inspired by a blogger I enjoy following called
This was a fun combo with a tunic dress and a fedora and the leggings made it very practical for me. Now that I look at the photos though I feel the ankle cuff sandals are not the best pairing but oh well...

 Hat - Swindle
Dress - chicwish or romwe (one of those international sites)
Leggings, belt - Forever 21
Bracelets - Cookie Lee
Earrings - Thread Show
Sandals - Victoria's Secret

Woke up OK but slowly started to feel just not right but kept on going. We went to the outdoor class to a park and I definitely was not feeling great. I had so much to catch up on though so went to the indoor play area so she can play and I can work then picked up my son and by that time I felt horribly sick. I took an immunity booster and medicine and begged the kids to let me sleep for an hour.
Amazingly they were good. My son started his homework when I told him and finished all of it. I am so happy by end of 1st grade I have trained him to do his own homework. My daughter kept busy with the ipad which is not great but I had to sleep. They were washing plums for a snack when I woke up and told me they resolved the red star cookie fight by simply throwing it away so no one eats it and there won't be a fight and they will both eat the blue ones after dinner.
Sometimes you got to leave them to their own devices. :)

I managed enough strength to cook them very yummy chicken fajita taco's and got them ready for bed. No workout for me today and I plan to go to bed early and hope I can kick off this thing quick...

Here was my daughter today wearing her new short/t-shirt combo and the 'very flexible' shoes my mom got her so she can wear them barefoot and still climb trees.

Wind and Sea

Memorial Day Ensemble was inspired by a look in the Boston Proper Catalog from March 2012:

This is just such a classic and classy look. I couldn't wear it to the beach but I changed into it after we came back from the sand and sun to my friend's house for a BBQ...

These mules are ancient but of course they came back in style and I have always loved them so kept them and am so glad I did. They are comfy and easy to wear too…. The wedge is calf hair!

Hat - Next
Sweater - Forever 21
Shorts - H&M
Mules - BCBG
Necklace - Off Fifth

My son had his 5th game this morning but I stayed home with my daughter while my husband took him. We finished up cleaning and went to grocery shop for the week.
Made a salad to take to my friend's house and got the kids sun blocked and dressed in swim suits and head on out to their house which is like 5 minutes from ours. :)
But it is memorial day and the beach parking was awful. Good thing is they had moved their cars on their sidewalk so as we arrived they moved their cars to the garage and with the addition of blocking their driveway we had the perfect spots. We let the kids play for a while then walked to the beach as a group and enjoyed the perfect weather. Then walked back for a yummy BBQ dinner planning our next adventures and laughed and laughed as always…

My friend took the photos today so I don't have many except this one while the kids were screaming by the front door before walking to the beach….
