Pops of Yellow

This was a combo on my list for a while. I bought this top as it covered my tummy right after I gave birth. I tucked it in for a more fitted look now. Adding the yellow gives it a pop of color. Not sure if the watch and the belt were too much together. I am re-loving these white sandals I purchased almost 3 years ago. They have buckles so don't wear the that often but they do look great under anything that shows off my legs and are super comfy.

Today's Activities: Busy morning. Went to the play area in our local mall to meet some people from the mommy group. After play time there rode the train twice. Then went to the kid concert on the grass. Then to the foodcourt for lunch and had the kids get on some mini coin rides afterwards. All before coming home at 12:45 PM for naps!
After naps and snacks, stayed in the backyard for some water table and swimming pool activities. Best friend came over for dinner and to catch up. Hoping to make some headway on the current season of True Blood. Since I missed all the shows since leaving end of April I have so much catching up to do. I was so happy that my ATT uverse recorder got everything without running out of memory. Hoping I can finish them all before their new season starts!

Adding purple to all white

Super late post as there have been some crazy things going on the last couple of days. Wore this outfit the night of August 17th. I was inspired by the August cover of Lucky magazine, the model was wearing all white pants and top with orange shoes and accessories. I thought it would be perfect to adopt it with my purple shoes and accessories instead. I absolutely love these shoes and with kids very rarely get to wear them. A girls night out to a restaurant is the perfect setting since it means minimal walking. I layered and layared many bead necklaces I have in purple hues. I used a stone green and purle necklace as a bracelet by double wrapping. Was happy to get to use my old Kate Spade clutch. I brought that white jacket you see in the cover but it never got chilly enough.

Recent Activities: I have been back to my hectic schedule of kid activities. Great to be having control of my own schedule with my own car under my own rules. Went to dinner with my girlfriends to celebrate my b-day. As I was driving to the restaurant after a sneaky departure so the kids won't cry just switching my radio station from lion king audio to my own adult station put me in the right frame of mind. I just love that once a week or every other week escape I get with the girls. It is a mini vacation from being a mommy. It helps that my girlfriend with the exception of one are unmarried with no kids. Unfortunately though the next day we were devestated to hear my best friend and her sister who I went out with the night before lost their mother unexpectedly! This was on top of the news I got from my step dad who lost his 43 year old sister in law the same morning. It was just a very emotional day thinking about the people I care so much going through pain I just can't even begin to imagine. My heart goes out to them all.

Mod Dreams

I was in a rush today so just picked this combo off of the top of my list. This was a shift/mod dress I bought in size large while I was pregnant. Since it is not real maternity dress kept it in the closet. Now with a belt I can still wear it. I do like adding brown to black which is taboo but it works. Denim vest was just a point of interest and a layer I needed in this chilly San Diego summer. these shoes that have both camel and black were perfect for this combo. I added the tortoise heart necklace and the resin bangle bracelet and watch.

Today's Activities: Waited forever at home for a plumber to show up. After he finally did get to go out to run couple errands. After lunch and naps went to a beach park with another mommy friend for some serious dirty playtime for kids. Dinner and much needed baths at home.

Birthday Girl

It was my Birtday yesterday. This is the outfit I wore in the afternoon. I love the crispiness of the navy with white. Usually that combo is paired with red for a nautical theme and silver accessories. I decided to go with this (burnt) orange sash belt instead. It added classiness and goes great with camel colored shoes and gold accessories. I rolled up the cuffs of the skinny jeans to really draw attention to the shoes. The sweater is super thin so great for apparently the coldest summer San Diego is having. This was one of those combo's  I put together at a spur of the moment to add to my list. It was great to see how nicely it really did come together. The simple but chunky gold necklace with the tear drop gold earings really bring class to the whole outfit I think.

Activities: Had a rough night with the kids who are still jet lagged and adjusting to their beds. After playing musical beds with the kids and my husband got very little sleep. So woke up in the AM totally not even remembering it was my B-Day. In a complete daze got ready and went to my mom's and step Dad's for breakfast. Then took the kids to the zoo they had missed so much. (see photos below of what I wore to there). They were happy but exhausted at the end. Came home for naps but unfortunately my daughter napped very little. Got ready and hosted my dad, brother and sister in law for a reunion and b-day dinner which my husband shopped, cooked and cleaned!
