See if reindeer really know how to fly?

Today's combo was inspired by a recent (Nov 2013) Coach Ad:

I liked this all burgundy look and the relaxed fit of the outfit. So I re-created it with my kika bordeaux top, the knit scarf and purse and the knit shrug.
Added the moto leggings underneath and calf hair boots.

I had to dig out these super old Chanel sunglasses for the outfit...

Cardigan - La Redoute catalog (super old)
Scarf - from Costco
Top - Kika Paprika
Leggings - ABS (from TJ Maxx)
Purse - Shoedazzle
Booties - Steve Madden
Bracelets - Cookie Lee and Baublebar

TODAY:
We started our Saturday morning with a visit to my parents for a Turkish Style breakfast with my sister and brother in law as well. The kids had already gone out to eat hours before with their daddy but they were more than happy to hang out anyway. We then came home for a quick lunch and got my little ballerina ready for yet another performance. This was her third (out of 5). But this time we were all going to watch her. Met up with other friends there that came to see her as well.

After the show we came home for a quick dinner of tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches, washed up my daughter then met up with our group at Krispy Kreme for a night of Christmas Light walking on our local 'candy cane lane'… My brother and SIL and nephew who just arrived from Boston last night joined in as well.

For the night time changed into this sweatshirt and matched my daughter….

I actually like her sweatshirt more….

We even matched with our red coats. I borrowed my mom's….
It was a gorgeous night. Not chilly at all and were all very comfortable compared to past years...

Here is our big group minus my brother who took the photo…
Love the kids' poses alls o goofy...

Trench Lessons

Yesterday's outfit came out exactly like this 'Chictopia' Post:

Loved the pop of yellow jeans and the red scarf agains this black and tan base...

I layered the form fitting kika black cotton top under the sleeveless babydoll style sweater top which I have owned for over 7 years!

This hat was my Grandpa's so I love wearing it and the scarf is very old from the time when I owned a total of 5 scarves and used them for warmth not as an accessory!

Hat, scarf - Vintage
Trench - Guess
Sweater, Jeans - Forever 21
Top - Kika Paprika
Boots - Steve Madden

THURSDAY:
Started early with ballet class. I have to stay that drive is getting old very quickly. I waited in my car cause it was cold and I am trying to finish my book before our book club mtg next week.
After Ballet we rushed to my Dad's Dr. appt. Of course there were problems and they didn't have it in their books but then found it but this whole thing took couple hours which is not easy with a 4 year old but she was a trooper. My dad and I were both falling a sleep. We then went to lunch and he went home for a nap while I went home to clean-up and pack snacks and rushed out to pick up my son.

Stayed in the area by going to the library to exchange our weekly books and to finish his homework then took them to the park and he attended his tennis lesson. It is a small community so I keep running into same mom's who are just as crazy as me taking their kids from activity to activity and we start chatting without even necessarily exchanging names. Most of them younger ones like my daughter who will all start kindergarten next year so we know we'll be seeing each other for years to come.
When we got home it was dark and cold.

Funny how in summer 5 PM feels so early and how there is still so much of the day left. But in winter it feels so late. I cooked dinner while working on stupid xmas card address labels which seem to require tweaking every year.

My daughter declared it was her elf's birthday and she wanted to bake cupcakes. I convinced her to just make a card and we would buy the cupcakes tomorrow. I honestly do not have time to experiment with cupcake making at this time.
Managed to shower them and into PJs before dinner then a quick dinner and a book and to bed but half hour late so they slept in a little for a change this morning!

The recent update from our Elves…

Everyone Dancing Merrily

Yesterday's Inspiration was inspired by an old post from the carri fabulous blog which has been discontinued….
This soft and romantic combo had an interesting color palette of mustard browns and blushing pinks...

Here was the base outfit when it was warm...

This top is just so ridiculously old. and sure enough when my daughter asked me to reach for something she dropped in the car it totally ripped under my arm. I am going to see if I can fix it. What a shame. Some clothes are just not very mommy friendly...

Who knew I would use these boots so much. I would normally wear my leather cognac boots but given their small heel I have been reaching for these flat ones for more comfort...

It was nice to wear this coat two days in a row before I hung it back in the guest room closet with all the other faux and real fur items...

Jacket, Pants - Forever 21
Top - Newport News
Scarf - very old. I can't even remember from where
Boots - Shoedazzle
Purse - Thread Show

WEDNESDAY:
It was my daughter's first performance in the nutcracker wednesday morning. It was school day so all the audience was schools on a field trip including our preschool class. Therefore all her friends were there to watch her. We first saw them and said hello then I checked her in and went in with my dad to watch the show. Her tiny part is in act two in the land of sweets. She was adorable. Totally did what she was supposed to but with a 2 minute delay but it was so cute.
When her part was over I was able to check her out then snuck her back in the theater so she could watch the remaining of the performance and loved it.
I was so happy my dad was able to sit through the whole performance with minimal pain and we came home afterwards and right after lunch he went to bed. I washed up all the hair spray and make -up off of her and we went to pick up my son than came home for homework and preparing dinner and went to his swim practice then came home again. It was pretty exhausting.

The gorgeous historic theater the performance takes place...
