Saying Good-Bye

This was my outfit yesterday (Friday)... The inspiration came from the Nov 2011 issue of Glamour Magazine:

I wore the animal print crop cardigan backwards to have the high neck part in the front. And the vest is longer so covers the cropness of the cardi.

FRIDAY:
After Preschool and naps we had a huge group of people at our house for a going away party for one of our friends who are moving away. It was absolute chaos but so much fun at the same time. The boys went a bit out of control and demolished my daughter's room but thank goodness to the 'army of mom's' as my husband called we managed to put it back in order.
I realize now it is not just our kids that build friendships. Without realizing we have built such amazing friendships and connections and you don't realize how much they mean to you until the possibility of loosing them. My friend and I were in tears and it is going to be such a hard separation. I don't think our kids who are great buddies are going to hurt as much as we will.
I thought after a certain age separations and good-bye's were behind us but I am reminded again how much they hurt.
Have you said good-bye to a good friend lately?

Will miss you so much!

How it is done

This is what I wore to a work show at my friend's house last night (Thu)!
I always figure out what 'Kika Paprika' pieces I am going to wear but leave the accessorizing and shoe/purse selection to the end. Which usually takes quite a while cause I try on bunch of different pieces until I feel it is just right!
For this I just looooove how this necklace looked. I was worried it was taking away from the outfit and not showcasing the clothes. But then realized although people would admire my necklace on me majority would never want to wear something so chunky and big anyway.

This is the gorgeous 'Joey' jacket which is the statement piece of the Spring/Summer collection...
It came in my size and in this navy color in my sample pack so I love pairing this with the whites.

I just feel every bit of effort spent on acquiring this Marni for H&M necklace, such as getting in line at 6:30 AM was worth it!
The cool thing is the blooms are all flexible. So you can actually close or open up the blooms and move the flowers on the leather string anyway you like it.

Thread show find: Suede fringed bright red purse!

And inside I wore the super versatile and beautiful 'Ava' dress by Kika Paprika. This can also be worn as a knee length or midi skirt when pulled down. I love the a-line cut of the skit. And no slip underneath and still not see through!

I just love how chunky these Lita's look...
When I was growing up I had such a complex about my skinny legs and would never wear chunky shoes like these that only accentuate them but now I kind of like the contrast...

LAST NIGHT:
My Turkish friend hosted a 'Kika Paprika' show at her house. It was great speaking lots of Turkish and making new friends. There were also two English speaking guests though so I did my presentation in English. My mom joined us so she can show her beautiful new outfit in Kika and to help out style the guests.
Was a long party. I didn't get home until almost 1 AM!

My mom wearing the same 'Joey' jacket but in beautiful aqua color over the white yoga pants!

My friend/host dressed in the 'Elyse' top in neon coral over the capri leggings. She ended up buying this top (at half price) plus a yellow tank to go under it....

Kick, Hit, Yell!

My outfit Tuesday.... I was going to wear the leather pants with this combo but then realized I didn't want those pants in a sand playground so went with the skinny cargo's instead...

The inspiration was this:

This reminded me of my chunky sweater and wearing a delicate tulle/ruffle top under it:

I love this necklace. It is hand crochet flowers attached to a silk ribbon. Found this at a street fair in Turkey. I so should have bought more of her pieces cause they were all so gorgeous. This summer I plan to shop big for this type of stuff so I can sell it with the beautiful Kika Paprika's fall/winter line clothes.
I also love how this tank peeks out of the cardigan. I bought this top primarily for this hemline.
And the earpods.... I was trying to do a work call at the same time and kept pulling them out of my ear just before the photo snapped. I lost my bluetooth ok so it sucks!

TUESDAY:
We had our outdoor class today but it was a field trip to a Karate Academy for a free class. The kids had a blast. They had a great promotion so I signed them both up for 5 classes plus a uniform for $25 a kid.
Not sure if we'll continue but it will be a different activity for a while.
After class we fit in a quick grocery shopping since there was a store there in front of the same parking lot. Then drove to the playground couple blocks away and had the kids play. My daughter took a nice nap that afternoon.
My friend came over with her two boys for a playdate and dinner in the afternoon/night.

Here are some fun Karate Class Photos:

I love this trying to concentrate photo! My son is in the red sweats.

Mother Daughter

Of course once again I am a day behind and will probably fall more behind. But better late then never...
Here is the cute outfit I wore yesterday (Monday). This was the skirt-beret set my mom knit for both myself and my daughter during Christmas. I have been waiting for a special day to wear where we will also see her but felt that day might not come so decided to wear it on a 'regular' day. I will keep wearing this skirt but she will grow out of it. Isn't it just adorable?

I might have picked a different styling for myself, like dark brown tights and blue heels and a navy top but to match her more closely I went with what she has. :)

My son pulled up his stool so he can see when the timer tripod snapped the photo. After the shots above he told me I should look at the camera and smile. So I did! :)
