Turquoise and Yellow

Another short and top outfit for today...

Going with a hat again but this went so great with the outfit...

Don't you love these colors together?
And this top is so comfy as it is fitting and yet not tight and hides the tummy.

My stepfather who took these photos between the dance class and the b-day party insisted we get some walking photos...

Added turquoise and gold accessories. Cuff bracelet is a gift from my sister.
The top actually has touches of gold thread that was covered in the photos...

These floral wedges or super old. Were purchased at TJ Maxx. For some reason I remember them as not comfortable but I think those were the times I wore heels all day. Now with a short activity they did not feel bad. I did switch them to turquoise flip flops after dance class before the b-day party...

Top - Nordstrom Rack I think. Can't remember it is very old
Shorts - Target
Hat, bracelet - Forever 21
Ring - made by my Aunt
Wedges - Guess

Today's Activities: Busy day today and it is only half past! This morning the kids started dance classes. My daughter ballet/tap combo and my son hip hop. Although the hip hop might not happen since they didn't have enough kids signed up. I had bought the dance leotard tutu for my daughter when she was just a baby. It was an expansive brand and I found it at TJ Maxx for $12 and thought this would be perfect when she takes dance classes around 2 yrs and the size seemed right. It has been hanging in her closet for 2.5 years. And it looked perfect on her!

Look how pretty the 'v' back is with a cute bow!

She loved her dance class. Didn't listen the entire time but enjoyed it. We'll be practicing at home as ballet is my dream... I now need to go and find ballet and tap shoes for her!

They did the train...
We then came to my son's friend's 4 yr old b-day party which was at a park near our house. My husband was already there with my son but he left when we came to take him to his dance class. They didn't take the camera though so no photos of him.
He made it back in time for the cake part.

We plan to swim in our pool this afternoon then I am invited to my mom's house for a Turkish ladies jacuzzi party. Should be fun.

Green Stripes

Today's very basic and casual outfit was inspired by a photo in the Lucky Magazine back in November 2010!

I loved that banana necklace and actually went to that website and considered buying it but the price and given its craziness I decided against it. Made due with my orange slice necklace and yellow accessories...

Notice the neon yellow nails? I put on the polish at my mom's last night...

I  thrifted this shirt for $5 when we were doing a martini and food tasting and some of the tastings were in retail shops. My friends of course were not surprised that I could manage to shop during the 5 minutes we were in line for martini's! I love its gold design over the stripes...
Here is the orange slice necklace. I also bought a silver cherry that I haven't worn yet...
These were easier to photograph off my feet today. They are approx 2-3 years old.
I have been wearing hats a lot latey. 2 reasons. One is it is hot and sunny and they provide protection. But mainly cause I don't have time to fuss with my hair or face so a hat and sunglasses and you look chic with no effort! They should be every mommy's best accessories.

Hat, shorts, belt - Forever 21
Tee - Thrifted
Necklace - Girl Props
Shoes - Dolce Vita

Today's Activities: My son is sick. He had a rough night and slept next to me (my hubby moved to the guest room). Woke up not coughing but definitely sick. We stayed home so I can have him rest. My mom came between work and swam in our pool with my daughter while I took my son out to a quick grocery shopping and picking up his medication from the pharmacy.
After naps we just hung around home and had the kids play in the backyard. Hoping he is totally fine tomorrow so we can do our activities.

Neons and Florals

Today's outfit was put together simply from the stuff I got on clearence from J Crew and not from my outfit list! Imagine that!?

This skirt is so cute. Made out of tiny floral print that is pleated horizontally with black sides. Original price was $110 (like anyone would pay that!?) on clearance for $24 plus 30% off!

This tank is very soft and has neon pink stripes. Of course JCrew's cut of size small is still super loose! I remember seeing these when they first came out and wanting them but clearance prices were much more attractive.

Hat - Forever 21

Today's Activities: Another fun day on a preschool field trip to a public pool we had never heard before. They had a super cool toddler pool with slides and spray features. We first met at a nearby park and had the kids play for an hour before walking to the pool building.

I must tell you though these activities that we do are definitely not for the faint hearted. We take photos capturing the fun but behind all that there is tremendous work. You have to posess tremendous planning and organization skills. Ability to multi task is a must. Talent of tuning out the chaos around you to have a conversation is nice to have if you want to keep your sanity. You have to be strong so you can stand to be on your feet for hours at a time carrying large loads while your muscles burn. You have to have iron steel nerves and amazing patience. And handling it all with mostly a smile on your face.
What helps me is constantly being around group of women who are absolutely amazing posessing all these skills.
As you look around the pool chaos today, you could see at any given time mommy's holding other mommy's younger ones, helping with potty breaks, watching each other's kids so we can take turns taking photos and always helping whenever they can. Really don't think we could do all this every day if such support system did not exist...

After naps of course my son got up totally sick. We went to my mom's to have a late b-day celebration for my Step Dad. My son barely lasted before I brought him home but it is going to be a long night for sure...

Here are the girls walking from park to the pool (my daughter in the middle)...

And the boys (my son on the left)...
Here is the part where I had to carry her cause she wouldn't walk. I could feel those muscles burn but we had to get to the pool one way or another...

 Here is the pool...

With my daughter..

My crazy girl who you can not take your eyes off of her even for a minute.

My son swimming with this buddy...

London Tee and a Guess Jumpsuit

This was the outfit during the day... Inspiration came from Glamour Magazine's March 2011 Issue:
There is actually 4 other combinations similar to this on this page which was how to recreate the cover-look segment. I will be using each and every single one of them as inspiration!

The candy apple stilettos were cool but you will see below I like it better with the red flats I think...

See, kind of cuter right?
This tee is super soft and comfy. I have numerous combinations with it. It is just one of those perfect tee's with just the right amount of interest and color...
Tweed Jacket - part of a suit from Newport News
London Tee, Shorts - Forever 21
Belt - Mango
Flats - Not sure, got these when I was pregnant 4 years go...

And Now The NIGHT Outfit:
Wore this tonight to dinner with my girls...

Bought this jumpsuit from Guess clearence months ago with the same best friend I was going out actually. I had 3 different combo's with the piece but trying them on realized they did not work. For one the necklaces do not work with the top zipper portion. So ditched them on so settled for earings instead....
These earrings were a purchase from thread show. They are made out of thin wood with laser cut butterflies. Totally pop against this green jumpsuit right?
Bought this neon yellow purse also with the same bf the other month from H&M. I was torn between this color and the aubergine purple but she convinced me to go with the neon yellow. Was perfect with this outfit. You just tuck in the strap to keep it as a clutch...

Added the wooden tribal cuffs and the raffia stretch belt to keep everything neutral...

I tried on many platforms and these golden wedges looked the best...

 Jumpsuit - Guess
Earrings - Thread Show
Purse - H&M
Wedges - Dolce Vita for Target
Today's Activities: Went to preschool. My son is so good now, I almost don't even see him the whole 3 hours we are there. My daughter on the other hand is a handful. Wanting to change costumes, switching from her crocs to high heels, demanding many wands and tiaras and wanting to do multiple art projects her demands never end... She does have fun there though. After naps our family friend came over to take the kids to their swim class then to dinner. They were all dressed up in swim suits waiting for her. Their new helmets had also arrived from Amazon and my daughter loves the princess design helmet. (see photo below). My bf picked me up shortly after they left for our birthday dinner gathering. First though a few of us hit happy hour. As always lots of fun and giggling over  nothing major. We actually warned our server that we tend to get loud and we wouldn't mind if she wanted to re-seat us to somewhere that wouldn't disturb the rest of their what is normaly romantic dating guests. She said 'no' but somehow there was no one seated around us after that! 6 alpha girls together over 2 bottles of wine do get loud! :)

My little (crazy) girl in her new helmet! And the ariel swim suit she threw a fit to wear the minute she woke up from her nap. Her exact words being 'I need my purple ariel swim suit'...Everything is a 'need' not a 'want'!
