It is going down, I am yelling 'Timber'

So this combo was inspired by the Tommy Hilfiger in the recent
November issues of fashion magazine:

I swear to you this looked a lot cooler in person than in the photos. It seems too hodge podge in the photos for some reason. Not sure why...

Blazer - Vintage (my mom's)
Vest - J Crew (very very very old)
Top - Banana Republic
Shorts - Forever 21
Boots - Target

FRIDAY:
It was our snack day at preschool. Which means I get to serve snack for the whole class then clean-up but as a result my daughter gets to be teacher's helper during circle time which she loves.

Morning shake your body dance...

Teacher's Helper...

Months of the year dance...

After school we stopped at home for lunch then left early to park and walk to my son's class to celebrate his teacher's birthday with a gift basket and cookies. We then came home and my son asked to not go swimming cause it was so cold outside (OK, cold for us Souther Cal people). So we stayed home had my dad over and had a warm dinner instead.

Oh, and here how the kids had found our two little naughty elves Friday morning:

So Bright

Yesterday's bright neon outfit was inspired by Lucky's October 2013 issue:
I got this bright sweater and plan to use it a lot this winter. I realized afterwards though the dainty purse doesn't quite go with the vibe of the outfit even though the color works.

Sweater - Forever 21
Denim Shirt - from Turkey
Pants - Kika Paprika skinny ponte pants
Boots - Steve Madden
Purse - Kate Spade
Necklace - Cookie Lee

THURSDAY:
It was a day of being out in the cold. Waited outside for my daughter's hour long ballet lesson in the morning. We then stopped by at my dad's house to deliver dinner and see him for a little while. Then it was to the indoor play area for job searching. Picked up my son and came home and cleaned up before we left again. My husband took off early so he can come take my son to tennis and be with him while my daughter and I picked up subs and went off for her first theater rehearsal for the nutcracker. I also had a volunteer shift of security which was the only thing left and standing outside in the cold is not fun at all. But once everyone was signed in we came inside and I peeked in to see my little ballerina on stage with the biggest smile on her face saying 'I was born to be here'. It is very hard for the candies cause they have to sit on the edge of the stage facing the audience while the sugar plum does her dance behind them. So of course they all want to turn back and look. My daughter couldn't stop talking about how pretty sugar plum fairy looked while dancing with her 'boyfriend'. :)
Even though it was so late and were dismissed early she begged to stay to see the finale but I told her we can stay during the dress rehearsal on Monday which will be even cooler.
By the time we came home my son and husband were already in bed and asleep!

I practiced the 'ballet bun' for the first time using those bun doughnuts and it worked out great...

The hardest job you will ever have

Yesterday's outfit was inspired from October 2013 issue of Lucky Magazine:
The jacket in the photo reminded me of this maxi blazer/coat I had in my son's closet probably 20 years ago! And I need lots of cozy layers on M-W-F while watching my son's swim practice so I try to pick combinations on those days that are very warm like this one.

Well, this was one of the sweaters I had pinned as items I coveted. And when Anthropologie had its black Friday sale I went for it. It is a bit itchy but I added a cami under it so it was fine.

Hat - Lucky
Coat, Jeans - Forever 21
Sweater - Anthropologie
Booties - Betsey Johnson
Necklace - Cookie Lee

WEDNESDAY:
After my daughter's school we fit in a quick costco shopping as it is our snack turn at the school on Friday. We then had to stop home of course to unload the groceries then picked up my son and decided to surprise them by a trip to the mall to see Santa to beat the weekend crowds and lines he will have.
There was still a short wait but it was quick.  My son asked for a lego set that I made the mistake of not checking before hand. My daughter asked for something super odd so not sure about that either. It is like this swing on a rope and has glow in the dark features. Of course we don't have a tree in our yard that would be suitable for this.  Immediately upon leaving santa's area they wanted the candy canes and my daughter's broke and she had a fit throwing the broken cane to the street. We promised to go back and ask for a new one later.

While we were at the mall though we stopped at the lego store only to find out to my terror that the set he wants is THE Biggest set in the store and costs $400!!! I told him there is no way Santa can do such large gifts plus the set is for ages 16+ for heavens sake. He will have to settle for a smaller hobbit set or something like that. But this meant we had to go back to Santa to explain. Santa was hard of hearing and did not quite get all this and my son semi thinks he will still get it.

He also purchased a small set at the store with the promise that he would pay me from his own money when we got home. But when the time came at home to pay he freaked out that his money will be gone. He is super advanced in math and totally gets the mathematical side of $20 - $16 equals $4 BUT the 6 year old side of him didn't want to give up the cash or the toy. THere was quite a melt down but I felt my hubby and I tried our best to calmly explain it all to him. He was so hysterical we had to send him to his room to calm down. After 5 minutes a $20 bill was thrown downstairs! At the end he did get it. :)

Between the candy cane, un realistic gifts and lessons about purchases we were ready for couple glasses of wine when they went to bed.

This is impossible. Only if you believe it is.

This was my outfit yesterday. I am a day behind again this week.

I loved the pop of mustard yellow over white and khaki...

TUESDAY:
After two weeks of absence, we finally went to our outdoor class. Except it wasn't at a park as usual. Instead we met at a pizza restaurant before they opened for business. They let the kids make pizza than gave a tour of their kitchen. We had done this before couple years ago but of course my daughter has no re-colleciton of that so it was all brand new to her.
We then ran errands and did some Christmas shopping. There was a big melt down of my daughter on the subject of buying beauty sets but after a long discussion it passed. After we picked up my son we stopped at the library then came home for homework and dinner. Couple more meltdowns but finally everyone was a sleep. Some days are rough.
