Following the Tiger Trail

Today's was a simple but comfy outfit. Not like it needed inspiration but here is where I got the idea:

The look was leggings, leather jacket and a flowy schiffon floral top and a scarf.  I don't know what it is but I just love using looks from magazines and other blogs and chictopia posts. It is like a challange for me: 'Can I create the outfits I see that I like with stuff in my closet?'

I bought this cute pink, black and white top from a thrift store. It is too open in the front so I wore a lace trimmed cami same pink hue as the design underneath. This super fringey scarf my cousin had gifted me was perfect. I tied it like an infinity scarf but all the fringes makes it look like a necklace. It is also very light silky schiffon so didn't feel hot during the day.

The hot pink bangle set is from Turkey I think it was a gift from my mom. It also has 4 other bangles that have gold in them. I just took those out to keep the look silver.

This cute pastel colored hearts on silver ring was a gift from my stepdad. And I love these juicy earings.

Here is the look without the jacket which is how I wore it majority of the day...

My daughter was even more involved today than normal with the photo shoot so took a lot of poses with her...

Today's Activities: Saturdays are fun as I told you before my husband and I each take one of the kids and spend some quality one on one time first half of the day. Today was my day with my daughter attending her gymnastics class. My mom came to watch too than we had lunch at home. My husband took my son to a puppet theater then they had pizza at the best pizza place in town. They both napped amazingly and we left right after they woke up with my dad to the zoo again! We got zoo passes for my dad for xmas so this was the first time we used it together. The zoo closes at 5 PM these months so we only had 1.5 hours but that is OK. This zoo is so big you could go 5 days in a row and managed to see a different part. Today was tiger trail then gorillas. The tiger was awake and close to the observation points so that made the kids' day. I had cooked part of our dinner Friday afternoon and part during nap time so we had nice healthy dinner at home before baths and bedtime.

Here she is posing like mommy by the fountain! She gave me 5 different poses I am just using one.
I got her hair barrette's at Forever 21 for $1.50. Bought them in every color.

Here we are at the zoo...
Watching the hippo which was out of the water (a sight rarely seen even in Africa)!

Looking for otters...

Purples with fur

This is one of those outfits that looked much better on paper than in the  mirror.

I truly love this silk pleated skirt. There used to be this La Redoute catalog which is from a store in France. They discountinued their distribution to US a few years back. I really loved the different designer pieces they had. Very reasonably priced too. I got this skirt which also had a matching blouse as set. Has the cutest sea urchin looking design on it. I added the fur belt for interest.

The burgandy bead set bracelets hand made by my friend for my b-day went very nice stacked around my watch. Also wanted to show my hennah tattoo after 2 days it is a quite nice reddish brown color.

This tee is getting old. It is just one of those tees that works great for laying on.
I also have a purple stone necklace on that hits right at the tee's neckline.

I had a quite cool purple/pink make-up on for this outfit. But realized it is almost impossible to take 'portrait' shots with a tripod even with a good camera. The camera has to focus on the face to get a good picture so me focusing on air then running in front of the camera does not result to anything good. I love using this 100 eyeshadow set I bought during xmas from E.L.F. for $10. Any color you can think of is in here.

I also used this hot pink lip stain on my lips. It is very matte and subtle. Love it.

Today's Activities: Took the kids to the kid friendly mall to watch/listen to the kid concert at first. Then had lunch at the food court with friends. Made a deal with my son that if I took them to the train, jumpy and playground he would have quiet time in the stroller and it worked. They were tired enough and my daughter slept in the bottom seat while my son sat quietly on top. I carry (thanks to my mom) two big and soft cream throws in my car for this purpose. They are big enough for me to cover the entire double stroller to create a dark and distraction free environment. I should have brought books though cause my son kept asking for books. But he did sit under that blanket without making a sound. I was amazed too. As I promised when my daughter woke up which ended his quiet time we had ice cream (frozen yogurt but they think it is the same thing). Then met my friend and her kids at my house for an afternoon playdate. Took them all to Chuck'e'cheese for dinner with my dad. This gave my husband a break and a quiet night at home by himself.

The kids again were posing during my photo shoot.
Man my son needs a hair cut bad!

Denim dress

I like how this outfit turned out. During the first part of the day I wore it like this with bare legs...
This denim dress was a spring purchase in Turkey last year. Love its cut and color. I wore the scarf low on the neck so it wasn't too warm and the fringes at the end show this way. I call this scarf 'red carpet' in my list cause the design reminds me of a rug. :)

In the afternoon I added brown leggings cause we were going to the music class which entitles me to sit on the floor with the kids and the dress is too mini to do that comfortably, plus it gets drastically cooler later in the day...

Here are the rugged boots I wear all the time. The side zip makes them so practical as I never have to unlace them. They looked like this brand new which is why my mom doesn't get why I would buy something that looks like it is ready to be thrown out!

Utility Jacket - Gap
Scarf - Forever 21

Today's Activities: Morning started with swim lessons. Talked to the instructor so we are going to start getting my daughter used to taking the class without me in the pool. That would be so nice. I love swim lessons but hate to go in the pool myself cause it is such a hassle to get them and myself dressed afterwards.
After naps we went to music class followed by a coffee shop playdate. Came home for a nice crockpot dinner and watched pinnochio as a family.

White Tiger

This was the outfit I wore last night to go out to dinner with my girlfriend. I was inspired for this sexy look from the following Chictopia post:

When I saw this look I thought man, so simple and yet looks so sexy. My coat (purchased years years ago) is not as furry but it is actually more practical to wear and very soft. And I got to use my georgous new purse!

Got to whip out my shortest cut off short shorts from the drawer for this outfit. I never get to wear these during the day as they are too 'cheeky' for a mommy running around two little ones. But over tights covered by a big furry coat not so bad. I think I need to look for a more opaque pair of black tights next season. Now that I see the photos these are a bit too sheer for my taste. I like the super black look.

I kept telling my husband he was not capturing the necklace which he rightfully pointed out was hard to do since it was black on black. But that was my whole point. Add texture with the leather fringe necklace without it standing out...

As you will see below I had my hair in its natural state (curly) during the day. And at night before going out just ran a flat iron real quick. Loving the Brazilian blowout as it is making my life so much simpler when it comes to my hair...

I just couldn't make this outfit work for the day so wore a totally different oufit:

Not that crazy about this outfit which is why I picked it for today knowing I will be wearing a super cool outfit at night.

It was comfy for sure but just not one of those 'makes you feel great' outfits.

Whit maxi dress - from Turkey
Khaki colored cardigan - Guess

Fingerless gloves - gift from mom

Wednesday's Activities: At the preschool today the discussion was from another fellow mommy (who is Indian) who introduced us to the art of hennah and talked about this emotional spiritual ceremony you do for expecting mothers to prepare them for passage to motherhood. She also gave us free hennah tattoos. I am no stranger to hennah since it is also in my culture and used heavily in the villages of Turkey. After naps we went to the indoor play area and met 3 of my friends with their kids. Stayed for couple hours and for the first time my daughter played 'with' my friend's daughter. As other mommies will know kids that age usually play 'parallel' not 'together' but these two were having a blast. After we got home my brother and my dad stopped by to see the kids. I got dressed and helped out with feeding the kids dinner then snuck out with  my friend as soon as she got to my house. It is restaurant week in San Diego where a lot of restaurants prepare pre-fix 3-4 course menus for $20-$30 or $40. We went to a small wine bistro for a $20 menu. The menu items were great and delicious but the portions were tiny which was wine. We did wine flights to pair with each course and ended up not being able to finish all the wine since the restaurant was closing and we had to leave. Great day/night.

Here I am getting the Hennah tattooo:

This is when it is wet. After an hour it flakes and you brush it off. It was light orange but this morning it is darker, reddish brown:

Couldn't resist posting my daughter who now dresses up everyday at preschool:

And here I am with my girlfriend. We have been friends since college. Met her and my best friend our first year in an English class. She was an electrical engineer and I was economics so we continued taking calculus classes together for the next two years.
