It's a Shore Thing

Yesterday's outfit was inspired by this Pinterest post:

I substituted my peach jeans instead of shorts and went for sleeveless sheer top instead of the long sleeve version. The pearls and jeweled sandals and black sunglasses pulled the look...

THURSDAY:
We skipped the ice skating lesson to join this 'Shore Thing' event at the Museum of Modern art which happens to be located in my zipcode. Every thursday they have a free entrance to the museum with a DJ and a cash bar. The venue is just absolutely breathtaking over looking our city' beautiful shoreline.
We first met at the rec center across the street and had the kids play and ate a picnic dinner then went in. ONly to discover the current exhibition is quite not suitable for children so we had to browse very quickly and skip some of the rooms as the paintings were quite disturbing…
But the kids had a great time playing at the outside area. We all decided this would be a great outing for couples sans children…. Next time….

Yeah, yeah, this is a tough city to live in!...

I communicate through color it simply makes me happy

 Tuesday's outfit for Day 2 of sightseeing…

Knowing we were going to spend the day in an AC'd environment I wore this thicker silky top and the linen shorts… They were fine inside but would have died if we spent any extended time outside in the 93 degree heat….
Still I didn't have me to put any make-up on...

WASHINGTON D.C. & Alexandria, VA:
We spent Monday thru Wednesday at my sister in law's town visiting her and my little niece and nephew. My brother was away on a business trip so we missed him but we spent as much time as we can with them.
The kids bonded so much with their younger cousins. My nephew is 4 years younger than my son and 2 years younger than my daughter but they absolutely adore him and my son never stopped playing with him and he thinks my son is the coolest guy on earth. Despite the fact that my little niece was only 7 mos old they also loved her. My daughter especially would kneel in front of her and talk and sing to her and show toys without getting bored. It was just so special to see them bond…
We tried to take them sight seeing but they could only handle so much of east coast heat they are not accustomed to after our sunny but cooler San Diego.
Even my energetic son who could play hours of sports was dying to sit down and stop walking.
So we did as much as they could handle of the sights.
THey enjoyed most playing with the cousins at their AC'd house anyway…
Their favorite thing in the hotel we stayed at was to run down the corridor from the elevator to our room which was way at the other end of the hall. Every sing time despite how tired they were they would race…
My daughter is just a ball of positive energy. She just radiates this positive vibe all around her with her excitement and enthusiasm and amazing ability to express her happy thoughts…
It has been chaotic at times but mostly very pleasant and fun….

Now we go to South Carolina to visit their other cousins on my husband's side…
