Wild in the Park

This was my outfit for the day. I will be changing into something else tonight and will post that probably tomorrow.  I picked an outfit from the spring list so I can do a floral springy top thinking we were going to the butterfly exhibition and they like to land on floral bright colors. But, turns out the butterflies won't be out till next month. Initially this outfit was with my green capri pants. But for the life of me I could not find them. Nor could I find the bright blue ones either. So now these are the 3rd and 4th items that have mysteriously disappeared from my closet. It is driving me crazy. Who is taking my clothes? Seriuosly...

So, after wasting precious 10 minutes in search of the green pants, I gave up and settled for the grey denim leggings...

I purchased this blouse from H&M a month ago the night we drove to far away mall with my mom and sister that has the biggest F21 in the city. They also had a large H&M too. Notice my sister had the same blouse in a blue tone colored on Saturday at the Thread show?

This is the new purse from the Thread Show. I was going to wear it folded in a clutch size but this was easier to use fully open like this and still felt very lightweight. Doesn't the color look great though?

Most of the day I had this blue felt floppy hat on. I really like this hat and the way it looked in the mirror but not so sure in these photos...

I wore these once before. Got these super cool ankle cuff ballet flats on clearence from Nordstrom rack at the end of last summer. Just love them.

Today's Activities: Crazy morning of rushing to get ready and out on time to meet our class at the Wild Animal Park. Actually it is now apparently called the Zoo Safari Park. I always forget this place is farther than I think. Took almost 45 minutes to get there plus then parking and unloading the kids and walking to the gate is another 15 minutes. I was tired by the time we entered the park. How sad is that? Amazingly found and met up with our group though. Unfortunately for my son the lion exhibition was under remodel so we couldn't see his beloved lions. We did go on the tram and saw other animals then walked all around. It is amazing how we felt totally outnumbered by our kids. But there is this mommy code that takes place when we are together like this. It is not about 1 mommy and 2 of her kids. The mentality is there are 4 mommies and 8 kids and we all watch and help out regardless of whose kid it is. No one asks for it and no one offers it, it just gets done and goes very smoothly. By 2 PM we couldn't decide who was more tired us or the kids. We voted on 'us'. Even though it was couple hours past their nap time I put them down anyway when we get home. They crashed hard.
I will be meeting my girls tonight after 3 weeks of not getting together. I am excited. Afterwards I will visit my little nephew.

In the park tram.. Our row and the row behind was our little group that hung out all day...

Not the best photo but here is an idea of what the park looks like...

The kids running on the pathways. My son leading, my daughter trailing at the end happy to be hanging with the big kids...

Our group after lunch

Here is my monkey man... He climbed on top of this rock thing in the playground and was dancing and singing. He is crazy...

Inspiration Monday

Today's outfit is part of the Inspiration Monday hosted by the lovely ladies at Two Birds blog. This was the inspiration photo:

I used my floral mini skirt to resemble her navy blue one. For a graphic shirt I chose the Marilyn Monroe tank top.

I could have gone with a black cardigan but to be a bit different opted for my new navy blue one. This cardi has very cute brass buttons and two mini pockets which I love. Instead of tights went with leggings since I can't pull of a flowly mini skirt this short with kids during the day.

These booties which are super super old have low enough heel that I can manage. Used tarnished silver bracelet and an all black watch for accessories. The huge ring is also a new purchase from the Thread Show yesterday.

I tried on 3 different belts but the different metal buckles just took away fromt he outfit. This was the only black belt where the buckle is the same color so opted for this one.

We are getting ready to remodel our backyard so probably one of the last few photoshoot there for a while...

Today's Activities:  Even after a rested weekend I felt tired this morning. I am sure it is the monday morning blues. We did manage our time well in the am and got to preschool on time. I napped during the kids nap but they didn't nap for long. Afternoon was spent with errands in and out of the house. Will be cooking and bathing the kids and getting them to bed before heading over to my brother's to babysit the little nephew so they can hopefully celebrate their wedding anniversary between breastfeeding sessions.

Thread Show

This was my outfit on Sunday to the Thread Show. I got the inspiration for this from the lovely

I had loved this combination when I saw her post back in October of 2010. I hadn't worn my white ruffle mini skirt in ages and didn't think I ever would given how super short it is but when I saw her combo that was my opportunity to give the skirt one last chance. Of course I wasn't sure when and where I would ever wear this outfit. The thread show with my mom and sister was the perfect venue...

I love the idea of adding blue to the black and white ensemble. I bought this georgous necklace from the show and it was perfect with my outfit so kept it on over the scarf...

This blue lizard purse is an old purchase from F21. Again with the idea of a diaper bag use which I have a few times while in Turkey.
The leather studded cuffs are from a site called Girl Props. They have very cool stuff.

All the photos are taken at the show...

Leather motorcycle Jacket - Contempo Casuals
Striped tunic top - From Turkey
White ruffle mini skirt - very old (have no idea from where)
Blue two tone infinity scarf - TJ Maxx
Lace tights - Forever 21

Cuffs - GirlProps
Silver charm bracelet - from India
Purse - Forever 21
Necklace - new purchase from the Thread Show

SUNDAY'S ACTIVITIES: It was so nice to sleep in this morning since our kids were still at Grandparents' house. We enjoyed sipping coffee and lounging a bit. Then went and picked them up and met my sister and her boyfriend at a park near their house by the bay. Kids played with their puppy at the park and had a great time. Had lunch all together at Baja Fresh. My son couldn't get enough of his shrimp taco's.
After we put them for their nap I put on this outfit and left with my mom and sister for the Thread Show. We go whenever it comes to town. It is just such a cool place to find one of a kind items at resale prices. Today I bought a cool studded purse, necklace, a hat and orange fringe earings. My mom and sister bought very cool items as well. Here are some photos...

Mom and I infront of the DIY art wall...

My sister purchasing these super cute vintage hand painted purses...

These butterfly wing earings were very cool. Loved the colors but the length was just too long and the wing part kept turning. The lady said she will make them a bit shorter for the next show. If we go I am going to buy a pair for sure...

Here are the other colors of the purse I bought. I really contemplated between the light grey one I bought and this bright teal color. The purses can be worn open or folded in half (magnet enclosure) as a clutch size purse. The strap is adjustable and removable. Very versatile and pretty.

This was a very colorful display of hand pained wallets and clutches...

Not the best photo but I bought this super cute grey fedora. One side is longer and has this black ribbon shaped like a bow. Mom bought the same style in light tan and my sister bought a classic fedora cut in blue denim. The lady was very happy with us for sure...
