It's All About the Shades

What I wore Wednesday to the vintage themed end of year pool party at my friends house to mark the last day of school!

The Theme was vintage scarf and sunglasses for pool side chicness...
I added a hair extension as a ponytail tied a scarf and adding the vintage pearl cat eye sunglasses my mom had bought me with the pearl earrings made it perfect!

Bikini - Seafolly
Cover Up - From Turkey
Purse - Juicy Couture
Sunglasses, Scarf - Vintage
Earrings - H&M

WEDNESDAY:

I worked from home that day so I can put in the maximum time before I have to leave to pick up the kids and run to this party...
Of course takes extreme amount of coordination as the party was only the beginning of activities on our doc! I had to pack my son's uniform and sports bag and coordinate so Coach can pick him up from the pool party location to take him to practice. Then I had to pack my daughter's ice skating clothes and bag as well as we went direct from the party to her classes on the rink!

Splish Splash

There is going to be a lot of beach and pool days in the coming months and usually I count those days as 'no outfit' day but figured once in a while I should show what I wear.
So here you go this is what I wore to our Monday beach playdate.

I had always wondered where do people wear sweaters over swim suits but realized our chilly in the morning weather was perfect for such pairing.

My friend got me this gorgeous beach bag a few years ago. It goes so nicely to my new fun colored rash guard….

And here is how I looked when the weather warmed.
I got this rash guard from Nordstrom Online before the season began and it is super cute and perfect coverage when I am with the kids and not really swimming myself. It has the right kind of coverage without looking like a 'mommy top'….

Sweater - Costco
Rash Guard - Nordstrom's
Baseball Cap - Comic Con
Skirt - DKNY (very very old)
Flip Flops - BCBG
Bag - Marc Jacobs
Sunglasses - Forever 21

MONDAY:
For 3 summers in a row now 4 of my friends rotate hosting Monday Playdates as one of the mother's work and Monday is her only day off during the week.
But, first my son started his Surf & Skate Camp on Monday.
I drop him off at the beach where he will start with a 3 hour surfing lesson then a lunch break followed by a 3 hour skateboard lesson and I pick him up at the skateboard park…
His bag was huge with all the gear Monday morning:

So this was our first one of the summer.
We went over to the friend who lives right by the beach so it was a beach playdate.
We were a bit rusty with our packing and everything but we'll get back in the routine pretty fast I am sure… What a fun day….

The Way You Make Me Feel

Well we are back from Sin City!
I never took a true outfit photo but tried to crop some from the group photos to display what I wore at nights…

FRIDAY:
In the Airplane to Vegas then lunch at the hotel and hit the pool right away…
We stayed at Mandalay bay and found online coupons to book high floor suites that had amazing strip views.
Mandalay Bay has a wave pool as well as many other surrounding pools. We found the side pools were a better spot for us to lounge…
Our hubbies arrived mid afternoon and joined us at the pool then we got ready for the night.
We had a nice dinner at the hotels big wine cellar restaurant where a woman dressed in rock climbing suit uses a rope lift to climb the clear wine cellar tower to retrieve wines.
After dinner four of us when to the 'Ice Bar' while the other two couples went to another rooftop bar…

This was the same outfit I wore to my lil sister's bacheloratte party
wanted to get one more use out of it...

SATURDAY:
Woke up somewhat early. We didn't quite tighten the black out shades so the light was seeping in and when on vacation you kind of want to wake up for the fun to start. Met couple of our friends at the buffet for breakfast right after securing 8 poolside chairs.
After Buffet we got settled by the pool. A long day of drinks and swimming. The lazy river was fast and super fun. By mid afternoon I could feel the sleep coming on so went up right away and took a nice long nap! It was soooo nice.
My husband woke me up 20 minutes before we were supposed to meet and I rushed and got ready.
We had dinner at an italian restaurant again in our hotel (actually in the four season's which is the connecting hotel).
Then went to see the Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson ONE show!
Pretty good.
Then we were up to rooftop club 'Foundation Room' to end the night!

Yes my friend spent the entire weekend in a 'boot' she was such a tropper!
