Minty Tie Die

This is the super cute babydoll top I bought at the Bazaar on Saturday. It was an instant decision. With certain pieces it is like that, you see it and you immediately know it is a good buy and the piece has great potential. I love the color and the design first, then the sheerness and the babydoll style but the most favorite part is the details. It has crochet like trim all over its skirt and sleeves, plus it is all stiched on the sides of the neckline and the shoulders. So much for only $15 (20TL)! It would go great over jeans as well but I wanted to keep it all pastel by pairing it with white capri pants and what simple sandals. You will notice how shockingly the necklace matches the top. This was a necklace I bought from another bazaar my first week in Turkey. The scrolls and colors of the stones are almost identical to the tie die shirt. I wanted to go with silver so wore my sister's white watch with silver trim and rhinestones and my white and nickel ring. Since I was wearing flip flops (which are my sister's and a size small but I didn't have any white shoes with me) that did not cover my ankles got to wear my silver and rhinestone anklet as well. I could have gone with a white purse (my mom's) but decided to add a bit of natural feel and went with this tiny hard rattan clutch (again my mom's) instead.

Today's (Sunday's) Activities: Woke up late following the party night. Went to the beach but only for a short while. When the kids were napping we watched all videos my uncle had filmed of all of us when we were younger. The cousins and sister I now hang out realized how vast our age difference was in those years. The oldes is 8 years my junior! The kids woke up while we were watching so we packed up and went to a different beach all together. This wasn't beach club so the entry to the water was not as easy for my 1.5 yr old but they liked being somewhere different. And the sand was made out of crushed 'Alacati' stone which was snow white. We stayed there pretty late. After coming home we left the kids with the nanny and went out to a fish restaurant for dinner. All the grandkids sat on one side and we laughed so hard our parents thought we were drunk but we were only sipping diet coke. It was a great night. We then went to Alacati to walk around and have some tea. Another super late night hence why I am so behind in posts. Covered in Lace

Finally the debut of my bazaar bought lace dress. Noone and I mean noone could beleive I bought this at a bazaar for approx $25! I styled it here with browns for a more day to evening time look. (I have another combo idea with blacks but more grundge). Even though the dress fits tight because it is stretch it is very easy to move in. And since it is fully lined (in soft cotton) I didn't have to worry about any undergarments. Since the dress itself is such a statement piece and the neckline is so pretty on its own I went with just earings (large CZ heart gold ones).

Today's Activities: Did a nice and quick beach outing in the morning with my girl cousin and stepdad. Since the whole family is here I had to give up my naps so I can maximize time with family. While the kids napped my sister, girl cousin and I went to the (Alacati) bazaar. This time we only went to the fun section (no groceries) and shopped our hearts out. Found couple killer dresses, an all black watch, an adorable minty pastel babydoll top, scarf, bead necklaces and hair clips. When we got home played with the kids while the other prepared for our big party. Hosted the entire family which adds up to 50+ people in the memory of my Grandpa's birthday for dinner. Hence my outfit above. The party started at 7:30 PM and lasted until 2 AM. It was great seeing everyone and catching up. Took great huge group shots. 

Here is some kiddie fashion from my little princess. My sister-in-law bought this dress from Children's place for her b-day. I love the tulle underlay and the corset back is so cute. She is now 18 mos old.

Hello Barbie

This was a combo I actually tried it on before packing. The night I tried it on I felt like it looked like a Barbie outfit. For the life of me I couldn't find where I wrote it down and how I tied the shirt (tied at waist, using its self belt, or a separate belt) so I went as seen above. Not sure if it reminds me of a Barbie outfit anymore but went with this title anyway. It would have probably had a similar effect if worn just the shirt and the capri pants. But, I do love layering and  this eyelet corset top adds more interest to the outfit. I love the white on white look with touch of black. These heels with the zipper ruffles looks so cute under these capri pants.  The chunky multi chain necklace compliments that zipper detail on the shoes. Notice how my hair is curly, my aunt's method seems to be working like a charm. Who knew it could be so easy. It is hard to refrain from brushing my hair as I am used to brushing it after showers, every morning and every night. Now I only comb it in the shower and that is it. Very LM.

Today's Activities: My sister is here visiting. Woke up on time and took the kids to the beach just her and I. It was windy and the sea was too wavy but lots of other relatives and friends showed up so it was still fun. After naps my cousins arrived. Just the girls took my son to eat 'lokma' which is a special dessert made out of dought fried in oil and served with syrup. Then the cousins and my sister entertained the kids at home. After the kids ate we left for dinner at my mom's friend's house whose daughter is my friend as well. It was a nice long night.
