Floral Romance

So, first let me apologize for today's photos. With the desire to get the photo shoot over and done with I have been rushing to be ready before my husband leaves than beg him to take the photos before he goes to work and it is always super rushed as he is usually already late. So, today's shoot is totally lacking luster.

I simply topped a summer sweater over the floral schiffon maxi dress. Added the wooden heart charm last minute as some sort of accessory.

I felt these red wedges would be an unexpected pop of color. These are the wedges I bought from Turkey last summer. They have sneaker like soles and are super comfy and bouncy! :)

Oh yeah, at some point wrapped the red crochet choker necklace as a bracelet around my wrist...

Today's Activities: Went to the indoor class today. Summer session is a bit different. We'll be meeting indoors one day of the week and the 2nd day will be outdoors at a different location each week. And turns out every outdoor location will involve some sort of a water activity which will be nice. Knowing that June can be very gloomy here all these locations though are quite inland which will be a long drive for us but at least will guarantee warmer weather.
After naps we went to our first swim lesson with a new schedule and instructor. Surprisingly my daughter was not shy at all. My son I am not surprised about by now but looks like my daughter no longer has any stranger anxiety either. I had cooked dinner before we left so when we got out of class warm tuna casserole was waiting for us with a side of steamed cauliflower salad. Of course I had to make a mini chicken casserole for my husband who does not eat any seafood.
We are now watching 'swingers' on netflix instant que and it is bringing back so many memories of working with 5 guys in a small office and them constantly quoting this movie back in the days!

White Lace

Participating in Every Body Every Wear's Lace event today!

The Inspiration came from the following photo in the April 2011 issue of In Style Magazine...

I had many many lace options. I have a brand new blush colored lace shorts from Forever 21, a grey lace skirt, blush lace dress, black lace jacket, white lace blouse and those new black lace flare legged pants from my mom. All of which are totally  in appropriate for signing up the kids to the outdoor class at the park or the chilly weather!
This was the most doable. At least it is pants and a 3/4 sleeve top which worked fine for today's weather. Even though it is all white and lace top is definitely a bit much for a playground class but at least most people are used to me being more dressed up than everyone else so it was OK...

This is the antique lace tunic from my Grandmother. I have worn this as a very mini dress before. But when I saw the inspiration photo I loved the idea of dressing it down and wearing as a tunic which is what it really is!

Added brown, cream and gold accessories. That cat eye sunglasses are new from F21. Love their shape. I have been always been a big fan of cat eye shape. Hope it fully comes back. The ring is also my Grandmother's by the way.

Instead of the dark brown I thought the cognac colored and gold studded MK heels would be better... Of course these were replaced by the lizard skin pattern flat sandals...

Today's Activities: Today is the first day of Summer Session and sign-up for all the state funded parenting and co-op preschool classes we attend. Even if you plan to attend the classes on other days of the week you have to sign up today which creates an issue when you want to sign up for more than class as the locations are totally different. But the indoor class teacher had made a deal with a few of us, if we bring snack tomorrow she would hold our spot for today and we can go sign up for the other class. This worked out great so we headed straight to the park. A few new friends of mine are attending this summer so should be a lot of fun.
My daughter's potty training has taken a step back. She went from telling to not telling and just going in her underwear. So now we have to resort back to taking her to potty often to avoid accidents. Not sure how this is going to go. My son was so much easier but he was the type of kid you sat down and talked and explained. My daughter is not a listener. Just goes to show you once again, kids are so different even when they are siblings.
Hoping to run some errands this afternoon...

Inspiration Monday and lots of random crafts

This outfit was worn solely for Inspiration Monday challenge hosted by Megan and Nora at Two Birds Blog.

Liv Tyler's outfit was this Monday's Inspiration...

This striped tee I wore actually has a design on it so I wore it inside out to get it to look plain!

The only brown flat sandals I have are those gladiator ones and they didn't look write with this outfit. So, let go of the need to 'not' match I wore my navy flats (my pregnancy purchase back 4 yrs ago)...

Added this nautical belt for interest since otherwise the outfit looked a bit plain to me...
The bottoms are shorts (skort) by the way even though it looks like a skirt.
Striped tee - from Turkey
Navy skort - Forever 21
Belt - Mango (from Turkey)
Flats - Steve Madden

So, here is my confession... I did not wear this outfit today. It is way too cold here to wear shorts and a tee. I wore the outfit below as my best match possible given the weather. BUT, then realized I hated the outfit and took half hour to wear what I would have worn had it been warmer...
Totally Blah right?

Today's Activities: Yikes I had to leave the house by 6:45 AM to make it to my infusion appt (I have RA). I was surprised when the nurse said I was done after 30 minutes only to my horror he realized he gave me the wrong medication (mine takes 1.5-2 hrs). Had to page the nurses and the Dr and turns out it is OK as the drugs are very similar. So I was done much earlier and came home. My mom was babysitting.
By 10 AM our playdate guests arrived. Our first craft was this caterpillar snack made out of bananas, PB, pretzels and raisins!

Then we had the kids make Father's Day cards. I google'd cute poems and printed photos of the kids with the person we are giving the card to and they used stickers and tissue paper to decorate. Then we added hand stamps... I am not showing a close-up cause I don't want to spoil the surprise for the fam members who will be reading my blog... These are all my kids' cards actually missing 2 that I already sealed in an envelope to mail. Beside their beloved Daddy and 3 Grandpa's they also have additional male role models in their life to give cards too.

Then for lunch I had cut out this photo/recipe from the Parenting magazine and between the 3 mommies we were able to duplicate. They came out so cute! The sandwich is just classic PB&J. The eyes and mouth is cheese and cucumbers. The nose cheery tomato, the eyebrows carrots, the bow tie cucumbers and the ears are shredded carrots. The purpose is to get kids to eat more veggies...

So we only made 3 as it was very time consuming and hoped each sibling pair would share. Everyone was fine with this except my son who threw a fit when I cut the clown in half. Had to quickly make him a whole one...

And since I wasn't happy about this his clown was mad! He laughed hard at this...

Here are all the kids enjoying the clown sandwiches (and 2 plates of nuggets)...
