You make me blush

Tuesday's outfit was inspired by a look from Bloomingdale's:
Unfortunately it was one of those days where the outfit didn't quite come out that great. The boots are too tall I think for the longer skirt and the top just kind of looks blend. Not sure… I get these outfits sometimes usually less than 10 a year… Probably not a bad ratio among all the other outfits I like….

Top - Gap
Skirt - La Redoute
Sunglasses - Valentino
Boots - Ivanka Trump

TUESDAY:
Went to my son's class for their Family Literacy day and my husband was able to join us.
I got a chance to browse all the work they have hanging around the class room and it was amazing to see how much writing 2nd graders do. And they are all serious. Either their views on a book they read, research findings and the most interesting ones were their 'opinion pieces' They read an article on a controversial topic that relates to them and then express their opinion but they have to back it up intelligently and give a conclusion.  Topics they were covering were 'year round schools', 'allowing candy and fast food for school lunches' and the topic they covered while we were there was about how much screen time should kids get.
My son was a bit surprised that all those NFL and NBA games he watches count as screen time and as active as he is he has still logged in pretty long screen times…

Parisian Prep

Today's sweet combo was inspired by a very old issue of Elle Magazine. I think at least couple years old...

I added my tulle skirt under the denim one to create a layered effect and lengthen the mini. I gave away the striped top I had in mind for this outfit during my closet cleaning so settled for this cute tee I won from a blog giveaway instead...

Blazer, tulle skirt - Forever 21
Denim Skirt - Charlotte Russe
Tee - from a blog
Earrings - Juicy Coutre
Ring -gift from Mom
Watch/cuff bracelet - Betsey Johnson (another gift from Mom)
Shoes - I can't read the brand name (they are so old)

TODAY:
My hubby is traveling for work training so I am flying solo everyday this week. And there seems to be some sort of a curse on our household appliances. Last two weeks we had to replace the water heater and spent hundreds on the upstairs toilet. Now our shower wall/door has shattered and we have to get a whole new shower and last night our microwave and oven stopped working!
Weird right?
I tried to prep everything so the morning was actually pretty smooth. Just had to get up before 6:30 AM which is really brutal but I am getting used to it.
At my daughter's pre-school it was her sharing and she is so enjoying her class.

Bathing in Pink

My outfit on Saturday going to a very fun kids birthday party with my little ones....

The inspiration was from April 2013 issue of In Style Magazine:

I loved this idea of pure pink mixing hot pink with pastels....

This silky top is from kika Paprika. Totally machine washable. Looks and works great...

Top - 'Sasha' in peony by kikaPaprika
Shorts - TJ Maxx
Necklace - Bauble Bar
Belt, headband, shoes  - very old do not remember

SATURDAY:
Went to my good friend's son's birthday party which was themed lake fishing. It was quite a drive but a gorgeous spot and a very unique experience for the kids. My hubby was in a tennis tournament so had to do that solo. A bit difficult as we actually got stuck in the middle of the lake and had to be pulled back but it was a great adventure....

those are live worms for fishing... (yuck!)

SATURDAY NIGHT:
Went to my friend's sister's house for a joint b-day celebration dinner and game night!!!

Think pink...and orange

Today's outfit inspired by another Sept 2012 J Crew catalog photo:
I pretty much cut 50% off J Crew catalogs for inspiration. I really love their style and they have a neck for putting together very unexpected color combinations.  Like this blush-magenta-orange combo!

If you notice I usually convert their dressy pieces to more casual ones to fit my lifestyle. The magenta jeans vs the satin cafe pants and the cardi vs. blazer for example.

Yeay, finally wearing this super duper chunky necklace I bought at Ann Taylor Loft. Love it!

T-Neck - J Crew
Cardigan - Gap
Jeans - Forever 21
Belt - Ralph Lauren
Necklace - loft
Wedges - Gotax

FRIDAY:
Skipped my daughter's class today so we could make it to my son's thanksgiving skit in his class on time. My parents came with. They had a real cute skit put together with costumes made out of paper bags which they colored themselves.
Then all the kindergarten classes shared a thanksgiving feast together in the playground.
In the afternoon I had another photo shoot for my 'who is wearing Kika?' monday posts and my husband brought take out for dinner. :)

 Princess was ready!
 We like making funny faces!

The Pilgrim Boy:

Feast afterwards....
